[Completed] Steps for installing custom rom on HTC Desire 700 dual Sim - XDA Assist

Hello people,
So I've been using this phone for quite some time(HTC desire 700 dual Sim) it's running on stock Android which is 4.1.2(it sucks, I know) I am not super good at phone and stuff but I am quite interested and I have already rooted this phone. The problem is that I cant find a custom recovery and custom rom (I would like any new ones, like android 6.0,which obviously will never make it officially into) so yes, I prefer 6.0 or similar ones... I would like to request you guys to help me in this. Would like detailed step to step instructions. I know my phone is stupid and I should replace it but atm I am not willing to buy anything since I have to pay rent. Thank you all. Sorry for my bad english.

Hello,
Welcome to XDA.

[Completed] [Q] Goophone MF353zp/a Iphone 5s clone

Hello Guys, First time poster here. I have been scouring the internet for the past few days looking for some solutions, and found that XDA was the best place for android users to congregate and give help and opinions.:highfive:
First off, let me start off by saying that I am a complete android noob when it comes to messing around with rooting and flashing. So pardon if some of the things I say come across as foolish.
My girlfriend bought me what she thought was an original iphone 5s on her recent trip to China where she was teaching English. Little did she know that she got fooled into buying what I now found out is a Goophone i5s MF353zp/a. :crying:Since I want to keep the phone since she did get it for me as a nice gesture, I am trying to get it to run a regular android 4.2.2 jelly bean or better, without all the iphone icons and iphone crap. Also the phone did not come with playstore so I cannot download apps that I would use on a regular basis. Also most of the stuff is in Chinese and I just want to be able to use it as a regular android phone. I read up on roms, and rooting and flashing, but if someone could tell me the best way to go about getting a regular android version on the phone along with google play store, It would be much appreciated.
Thanks for reading my long post. Be Safe. Cheers :good:

Thanks for your reply. Are you sure about this? Because it is currently running 4.2.2 with an ios skin from what I could read on the internet.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. There is not much information about your device on XDA but I did find these which may help:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2449981
http://www.xda-developers.com/goophone-i5-unboxed-the-xda-way-xda-developer-tv/
I'm not that familiar with the Goophone but I believe you'll want to know the what I believe is the processor number, it starts with MTK followed by 4 numbers. Before you do anything see if you can find that and then ask in the threads linked. If all else fails ask in this forum, http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help
Good luck!

Thanks buddy. I'll check out the links you gave. :good: I might have come across the links before, but I was too scared to try something since I did not want to brick the phone. As for the processor number, I came across MT6572, if that's the one. I can't find anything with MTK. Appreciate your help in this. :fingers-crossed:
Yes, it was my mistake on the MTK. It's MT. I'll close this thread then.

[Completed] ROM Manager causing soft brick

Before I continue to the point of this thread, I just wanna say hello, and as this is my first post on XDA, I'm sorry if I miss any important information. If you want to help me, just ask and I'll tell you as quick as possible. Now to the problem.
My Matrix Smartphone D4090(apparently a chinese ripoff off HTC) with Jelly Bean on it, rooted by Kingo, broke down when I used the ROM Manager to change the boot animation. By broke down, I mean it got soft bricked. All I can do is turn it on(which leads me to nowhere), use the chinese recovery or the "No command!" recovery. I tried factory resetting on both ways multiple times, but nothing happened. As I don't have a backup, I'm pretty much f*cked when it comes to the stock ROM. So, can I install an official ROM(CyanogenMod, Paranoid, doesn't matter) meant for HTC on my ripoff? And, if I can, can I get information on which HTC is most similar to my phone? And if I can't, can someone instruct me on how to solve the bootloop?
Phone specs(as much as I remember, it got removed from the shop, so information may lack):
512MB RAM
1GB ROM
1.0 GHz Dual Core
Jelly Bean Android
Camera 2/0.3 MP
Apps installed before the bootloop(again, information may lack because my memory isn't great):
Xposed Framework
MyDogs
ROM Manager(Clockwork&the one with the golden wing on the icon)
Facebook Lite
APUS Booster
Kingo SuperUser
Titanium Backup
Skype
Don't remember anything more before the problem, sorry. I'll edit if I remember more.
So, to summarize the question:
Can I install an official ROM(CyanogenMod, Paranoid, doesn't matter) meant for HTC on my ripoff? And, if I can, can I get information on which HTC is most similar to my phone? And if I can't, can someone instruct me on how to solve the bootloop/soft brick?
Thanks for reading this post if you did, and it'd be VERY appreciated if you could offer useful information on these questions. Again, thanks.

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
I'm sorry to hear about your trouble. If your phone has a removable battery, you could try to disconnect that battery for a short while then put it back, as that procedure sometimes helps "reset" a misbehaving device, but there's no promises. There is no forum specifically for the Matrix Smartphone D4090 but you may want to ask your question with all relevant details in the friendly general Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help. That's a good place to start where members familiar with your device might be able to advise you. Since your device is not widely used, please be patient and give the experts plenty of time to respond.
Good luck!

Thank you for your reply. I'll ask around to get some extra information. I put the battery in and out multiple times when I noticed it won't boot up.

[Completed] Need to 'fix' nextbook p 7

I have been searching, reading, and attempting everything I could find to fix this tablet for night and days. Some root/busybox detectors/verifiers gave me different results. Before this I knew nothing about this world so i'm a real greenhorn here. All I know so far is my device is rooted because of build no. V2.0.1.JRO03C.user.root.20131219. Afterwards some apps tell me I'm rooted and some told me no. I'm afraid something went terribly wrong with the files. I can't unroot, flash a new recovery, install adb, pretty much nothing works. All the apps I've tried told me an unknown bootloader. I just want to either return the tablet to original factory default or take control of the thing. This is the info I gathered from settings>about :
Model NX007HD8G
Android V. 4.1.1
Kernel 3.0.8
Serial no. YF031412173
And the build number above
At the moment I don't know what other info you guys might need so forgive me if I'm not thorough. Please, help me take control of my device.
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA assist.
Although there are some guides that could help you solve your problem, none of them seem to have working links for you to download and use.
Because of this, I would recommend posting in the Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum. Please note that in order to post, you will need to create a XDA account.
Good Luck! - gsstudios

[Completed] I need a basic rundown of rooting benefits.

I recently bought a Moto X Pure from an XDA Member which should be here at the beginning of next week.
I used to own a GS5 which as you know is pretty locked down. Locked bootloader, hard to root, if you updated you're screwed, ect. So! I've been out of the rooting game for a while now and only really dipped my toes in to begin with.
My question is, can anyone explain the basics and benefits of a rooted device? Specifically, Xposed Framework/Modules, Root detection with Android Pay, and maybe some things that i've gotta try out with a fully unlocked android device. I plan to install an AOSP ROM but im gonna try out stock Moto X first and see how i like it.
Another short question I have regarding Android Pay, i've heard that some root techniques make Android Pay not work, some are fine, some custom ROMs wont work, AOSP roms will, can somebody clarify all this for me?
Thanks guys, you're always helpful. Glad to be back.

[Completed] Custom roms for htc desire 728g dual sim

Hello ? I'm frustrated so much, I've been trying to download custom roms for my mobile for almost three days now with no luck. I honselsty don't fully get why they're so important after a root, I mean if didn't install them would I be risking bricking my phone in the future? I'm a kind of a noob at this, so any advice or pointers would be so helpful and greatly appreciated ? Thanks.
Also I've seen all the threads on here concerning HTC desire 728 and custom roms, tried the methods there but they didn't work. I know starting a new thread about an old issue is a kind of a drag but I hoped someone would see this and answer me.

Greetings and welcome to assist. If you are happy with just root then staying as you are is perfectly safe and there is no need to flash a custom rom. Most people flash a custom rom just to get the latest updates or a couple of new features.
If you have the dual sim version then most of the custom roms on xda will not work for your variant as it is different hardware. I did find this thread that I think has a custom rom for your variant
https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-desire/general/urgent-help-htc-desire-728-malfunction-t3388534
Please always make certain that you only flash a custom rom that is compatible with your variant or you may brick your phone
Good Luck
