Before I continue to the point of this thread, I just wanna say hello, and as this is my first post on XDA, I'm sorry if I miss any important information. If you want to help me, just ask and I'll tell you as quick as possible. Now to the problem.
My Matrix Smartphone D4090(apparently a chinese ripoff off HTC) with Jelly Bean on it, rooted by Kingo, broke down when I used the ROM Manager to change the boot animation. By broke down, I mean it got soft bricked. All I can do is turn it on(which leads me to nowhere), use the chinese recovery or the "No command!" recovery. I tried factory resetting on both ways multiple times, but nothing happened. As I don't have a backup, I'm pretty much f*cked when it comes to the stock ROM. So, can I install an official ROM(CyanogenMod, Paranoid, doesn't matter) meant for HTC on my ripoff? And, if I can, can I get information on which HTC is most similar to my phone? And if I can't, can someone instruct me on how to solve the bootloop?
Phone specs(as much as I remember, it got removed from the shop, so information may lack):
512MB RAM
1GB ROM
1.0 GHz Dual Core
Jelly Bean Android
Camera 2/0.3 MP
Apps installed before the bootloop(again, information may lack because my memory isn't great):
Xposed Framework
MyDogs
ROM Manager(Clockwork&the one with the golden wing on the icon)
Facebook Lite
APUS Booster
Kingo SuperUser
Titanium Backup
Skype
Don't remember anything more before the problem, sorry. I'll edit if I remember more.
So, to summarize the question:
Can I install an official ROM(CyanogenMod, Paranoid, doesn't matter) meant for HTC on my ripoff? And, if I can, can I get information on which HTC is most similar to my phone? And if I can't, can someone instruct me on how to solve the bootloop/soft brick?
Thanks for reading this post if you did, and it'd be VERY appreciated if you could offer useful information on these questions. Again, thanks.

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
I'm sorry to hear about your trouble. If your phone has a removable battery, you could try to disconnect that battery for a short while then put it back, as that procedure sometimes helps "reset" a misbehaving device, but there's no promises. There is no forum specifically for the Matrix Smartphone D4090 but you may want to ask your question with all relevant details in the friendly general Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help. That's a good place to start where members familiar with your device might be able to advise you. Since your device is not widely used, please be patient and give the experts plenty of time to respond.
Good luck!

Thank you for your reply. I'll ask around to get some extra information. I put the battery in and out multiple times when I noticed it won't boot up.

Good morning All!
This is my first post here, hopefully I post in the right place. I have an old TPT, perfect device for my kids, all it need to do is run Zoodles. Was running fine with CM9, then one day, a couple of months back, it got stock on the Lenovo boot splash. Was getting ready to move so it made it in a box.
Trying to fix it now. Nut looks like I am in need of some advice and direction.
This is what I have done so far.
Boot into recovery kernel and tried to restore from my backup I had done before putting CM9 on it. Tried factory reset, None of which works.
The closest I got is with the restore of my backup, then when It rebooted, Ut got past the first Lenovo boot splash, we see Nvidia splash, then Animated Lenovo splash start, then device turns off and then back on.
Within the recovery kernel when I look at the logs, there is complaints about /data being in read-only mode during restore. I cannot unmount or format /data.
I think at this stage my best chance is to restore to stock with NVFlash. I am a little uncomfortable doing this without some advice first.
I am trying to find the model details of the device, but needless to say that being my kids tablet, all stickers are gone. I do have the device open but I am unable to track a; model number inside.
Could anyone assist? I am a professional IT, but My android knowledge is limited.
Thank you.
Hi!
Unfortunately without knowing the exact model, you have no idea what is safe to flash.
Because you can't get into into the system...no help there. Most devices have model numbers inside by the battery.
I'd Google any numbers you do find inside, until one leads you to your device. But you need to be 1000% certain before flashing firmware....if you flash the wrong firmware, chances are the device will hard brick and that will be the end of it.
Not sure what we can do to help really. You can ask in the general Q&A section, but be careful what advice you take. No one can guess what device you have, and if anyone suggests firmware based on a guess....don't flash it. Maybe someone can help you determine without a doubt what model it is tho...

Yes, its a Lenovo ThinkPad tablet 1 (TPT)
If its Lenovo think pad, then you need to ask here....and specifically state the model number you found. You probably need to return it to stock, so you need to find out how to do that, and where to find the firmware for your exact model. Don't use anything not specifically for your model. The guys in the Lenovo section know those devices best, hopefully they can help.

Thank you for your assistance I am not in the good section to get help.
Have a good weekend.
There are a lot of people joining xda on daily basis, and there are a lot of repetitive questions being asked which fill up Development threads. Point them here. Feel free to ask or answer questions. Idea of this thread is to get users to help other users with their problems/questions. Please do not spoon feed, but rather point in the direction where that user can find an answer and educate himself
First thing first. I strongly advise you to read THIS thread before posting ANYTHING on XDA.
For ROM issues please do mention in your post about:
ROM name
ROM version and base
kernel version and its settings
any mods applied on top of it
flashing "style" aka dirty or clean
...and be sure you have asked before on the ROM thread unless you have less than 10 posts on XDA
Even if you do get your question answered, please, do come back and read threads in post no2 (coming later as soon as we start getting the guides) to educate yourself. You'll be surprised how much time and frustration it will save you in the future.
ASK ANY QUESTION HERE,adb, drivers, superCID etc...... You will either get an answer or will get pointed in the right direction.
No abuse towards noobs tolerated here! No question is stupid in this thread.
I feel that a little OT is healthy to the success of this type of thread. The people here who help the most will develop a comradery therefore OT is allowed within reason. Common sense will be applied ..
Hi,
First of all happy new year.
I own an Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact LTE (SGP621).
Android lollipop 5.1.1
Build 23.4.A.1.264
Now I like to install LineageOS to it.
I'm absolutely new to this one so I need some help.
What I already managed to do.
I unlocked the bootloader and rooted the filesystem with kingroot.
On my Laptop I have fastboot and adb running and I can access the tablet.
Now my problem is that I cannot get the device into recovery mode to wipe the tablet and to install LineageOS.
When I try to flash TWRP via fastboot, all seams to be fine, but I cannot boot the device into recovery mode.
I would appreciate very much if someone could point me into the right direction what I'm doing wrong?
Thank you.
Heya, no expert here but have you held the correct button combo to reboot into recovery mode? Was it volume up and power? Sorry not used z3 in years.
I've come with a new/old user question...
I have a broken z3 (screen smashed and back in pieces with some missing) and a semi broken z3(3/4 of screen works and back is just separated but mostly whole).
I want to use them as cameras to monitor equipment, but need them to switch on when charged. I found a stackoverflow linking here hinting I modify the charge boot script, but it was z3c. https://android.stackexchange.com/q...ower-on-android-when-the-charger-is-connected
I'm unsure what os to install, and which twrp version matches etc, because really I just want a 4k IP camera.
Currently running official OS, ewelink camera app and teamviewer and about to try altering fastboot power on option.
I have been searching, reading, and attempting everything I could find to fix this tablet for night and days. Some root/busybox detectors/verifiers gave me different results. Before this I knew nothing about this world so i'm a real greenhorn here. All I know so far is my device is rooted because of build no. V2.0.1.JRO03C.user.root.20131219. Afterwards some apps tell me I'm rooted and some told me no. I'm afraid something went terribly wrong with the files. I can't unroot, flash a new recovery, install adb, pretty much nothing works. All the apps I've tried told me an unknown bootloader. I just want to either return the tablet to original factory default or take control of the thing. This is the info I gathered from settings>about :
Model NX007HD8G
Android V. 4.1.1
Kernel 3.0.8
Serial no. YF031412173
And the build number above
At the moment I don't know what other info you guys might need so forgive me if I'm not thorough. Please, help me take control of my device.
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA assist.
Although there are some guides that could help you solve your problem, none of them seem to have working links for you to download and use.
Because of this, I would recommend posting in the Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum. Please note that in order to post, you will need to create a XDA account.
Good Luck! - gsstudios
hello
I appreciate the pointer. as you can see, im officially a XDA rookie member, proudly. Very much admire the things you guys do here on your spare time. When I first came upon this site, i knew right away this is a huge community, well accomplished and highly respected. That is why when I came to a dead end, this was my first pick.

Going to Q&A forum
Hello people,
So I've been using this phone for quite some time(HTC desire 700 dual Sim) it's running on stock Android which is 4.1.2(it sucks, I know) I am not super good at phone and stuff but I am quite interested and I have already rooted this phone. The problem is that I cant find a custom recovery and custom rom (I would like any new ones, like android 6.0,which obviously will never make it officially into) so yes, I prefer 6.0 or similar ones... I would like to request you guys to help me in this. Would like detailed step to step instructions. I know my phone is stupid and I should replace it but atm I am not willing to buy anything since I have to pay rent. Thank you all. Sorry for my bad english.
Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
I'm not finding a forum or thread that will help you, try posting your question in the forum linked below.

Hey guys,
I have an STG S1 with the MT6737T processor and for some reason it started rebooting itself a few minutes after the GUI shows up and everything working fine. This started happening after I disabled the built-in Youtube app in an attempt to delete it completely but in vain.
Then I tried to factory reset my phone which ended up causing it to reboot mid-factory reset. Then somehow I got into the Chinese menu and hit one of the options that said something in Chinese and eMMC in the end. I can only assume it formatted all the partitions on my phone after that. Other menu items in Chinese were for testing different things from the touchscreen to the GPS.
I could not manage to flash anything into my phone using fastboot since it's on a locked state and unlocking doesn't work because I never enabled debugging or developer mode. So flashing a custom ROM using TWRP is out of the way.
I found this stock ROM but it's geared towards a slightly different processor MT6735 and changing the processor in the scatter file did no good. I flashed a couple of other ROMs here and there from totally different manufacturers but did not get any positive results. Some ROMs would just turn the screen totally dark, one of them would light up the screen (still dark and no logo). So I haven't gotten any luck into finding an actual ROM that could work for me.
I'm not sure if it's a good idea to try different ROMs from different manufacturers but I am aware that I may risk bricking the phone once and for good but so far so good as it's still accepting "Format All + Download" from the SP Flash Tool.
I'm just sitting here looking at my phone wishing it had anything on it, even if it's a mere Linux headless console. I contacted the phone company and other people to try and get a stock ROM but in vain. I came across this and although it mentions both processors I'm skeptical that it could just be the same stock ROM that I'm seeing around. I emailed them but no response so far.
What can I do to get my phone up and running again?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thank you.
I ended up buying this for $9 and it did work for my MT6737T.
