}
Important! Make backup of /data/cust/xml/multiwindow_whitelist_apps.xml
Install MW Fix, grant root privileges, launch MW Fix, wait for task to complete.
Now reboot phone
Launch random app and add apps to Multiwindow, (due to code limitations you have to do it everytime after launch MW Fix)
Tested on huawei mt7-l09 on b560, b561 Kangvip
Optionaly.
You can create blacklist.txt file on your external sdcard and place in it programs which you dont want to open in Multiwindow (Attachment)
Notice that you must have root,
Wait a minute after reboot, system will read values with little latency
The app make a file multiwindow_whitelist_apps.xml on your sdcard, so if something goes wrong you can manualy copy it to right folder or overwrite existing .xml file with new one
Great apk. Good work

Not working for me...
Hi,
Have installed it successfully, reboot and nothing...
The /data/cust/xml/multiwindow_whitelist_apps.xml file has changed and all apps are there now, but it multiwindow remain the same apps.
Any help?
Try delete data of app HwDualWindowLauncher and reboot
Are you root?
Thanks a lot. I try it with the Huawei P8max and it's work, great app
hi. Now I have a Huawei MT7-09. Firmware B328. Root is and recovery TWRP 3.0.2 for 5.1. I installed your app, run it, provided Root, reboot the phone. The only change is that in applications where before when trying to invoke multiwinowds a message appears stating that it is not possible to call this application, it now appears. But only 8 standard applications. New applications do not appear. What do you advise?
Hey,
Sounds like a great app. Sadly, I can't get it to work (in fact never got the MW to work).
MT7-TL09 Running Latest MM 6.0 official B512
Rooted
Installed apk
Cleared HwDualWindowLauncher DATA and CACHE
Launched MW Fix
Rebooted
>> This app not compatible (for ALL apps as far as I tested).
Weird thing is that I have no /data/cust/xml/multiwindow_whitelist_apps.xml ... (no cust folder in data one)
Mine is in /cust/hw/spceas/xml/multiwindow_whitelist_apps.xml and seems to be correctly populated after fix.
Not htat I miss this feature since never been able to use but if you have any idea.
Cheers
I dont have time to code it for all firmwares/regions, for now it work good for me (kangvip b561 v3), if your cust directory is different, try to create folders data/cust/xml then launch app and move multiwindow_whitelist_apps.xml to your own region cust, remmember to clear HwDualWindowLauncher data before reboot.
bikerden69 is there more than 8 apps in multiwindow_whitelist_apps.xml?
If not, propably your rom missing file that contain all installed apps. My program use it to read all packages and place them in multiwindow_whitelist_apps.xml.

Hi, I downloaded Titanium Backup and tried to install it but it keeps saying that there is no storage space and that I should clear some space. But i checked my storage and i still have about 27gb of free space left. I also tried installing and uninstalling other apps and it works fine its just TB that does not work. Anyone have any idea whats going on?
I have attached a couple screenshots so you can see.
Thanks in advance

What does the "Storage" page in Settings say?
Does it work if you install it directly from the Play app?
it says 25gb of free space and ive tried installing it directly from the playstore as well does not work but every other app works
OK, then the error message does not state the real problem.
Next idea: Install CatLog, then try installing TB again until it fails, then open CatLog and scroll up until you find the real error message. Or instead use adb logcat from a PC if you prefer that.

i got this from the logcat but don't know what it means nor on how to fix the problem
I think you may have too many apps running somehow. Try clearing your cache and davik cache. Have you tried side loading TB? You can download the previous version directly from them. Just remember to enable third party apps installs. If it works, you'll be able to upgrade to the latest version via in app or Google Play.
I don't know how to read the catlog, so no help there.
I've had this problem several times. It usually happens when you've installed it once before. What you need to do is go into /data/app and delete the Titanium Bacukup .odex file. I can't remember the full file name, but it'll have titanium backup in the name.
You should the be able to re-install fine.

I've read something similar when searching for the error message, but I don't understand where such an odex file would come from (usually, odex files exist only for system apps - the user-installed apps have dex files in /data/dalvik-cache instead).
But yes, deleting everything related to TB from /data/app, /data/data and /data/dalvik-cache is the next thing to try - the file names start with com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup (or, in dalvik-cache, with [email protected]@" prefixed). You need a root-enabled file manager for this, I use Ghost Commander.

it worked thx alot
Just got my Sony Xperia Z3. Still messing around to get a feel of the UI.
Was not able to uninstall File Commander as I find the UI badly design. So installed ASTRO File Manager, tried deleting a file from ext SD card. pops up a notice saying that due to KitKat design, 'write' to ext SD card is prohibited.
I uninstalled ASTRO File Manager and installed SOLID Explorer, deletion from ext SD card was not allowed as well.
Tried deleting same file using File Commander and it worked

Probably will try File Expert but expecting the same rejection.
It is a well known issue with KitKat and is brought in on purpose by google.
Basically in an effort to increase security protection to the user only system apps can write to the SDcard. There is a way around it but you need root. Just google "Write to SD card KitKat" for further information and how to revert it.

You believe in Santa Claus, too ?
Google tries to force you into using their cloud services, that's all magic.
But it's correct: You need root to edit the file platform.xml. After doing that, everything is ok again.
But DO NOT ROOT, yet ! You'll lose all DRM keys (making the horribly bad Z3 camera even worse) and X-Reality. And believe me: You really do not want to lose that.

Yes I know, its an old issue and well known how to get around it. And trust me, if I want to unlock my bootloader I will.
The only way around it is to save files in your File Explorer's App folder. With FX Explorer, for example, save your files into Android/data/nextapp.fx/files/
You'll be able to write and delete all you want.
File Commander works across all folders because it's a system apk.
Presumably with root you could just convert your file manager app of choice to a system app with the likes of Titanium and it would then work ok? Or just use one that uses root anyway (like Root Explorer).
Work root you just add one line to platform.xml and then it works just like it did before

Of course, with root you can get around any software restriction. However, in 2 - 3 years it'll be moot (hopefully sooner). It's like when Android dropped the menu key and everyone was pissed. After 2 years no one cares about the lack of a menu key anymore.
Hello guys,
As the title said, i was once able to copy apk in /system/priv-app and got them installed after a reboot; too bad it looks like it doesn't work anymore. I tried also /system/app, but still nothing.
The Story Behind: Few ROM flashing ago, i decided to install the pixel launcher app. Downloaded and installed it, it works well out of the box, whit the exception of the swipe left gesture. Some googling revealed me that the launcher must be installed as a system app for make the swipe work, and here start my struggle: i can't remember what i did (did i cut the /data/app/com.android.nexuslauncher-1 folder and pasted it in /system/app/? Or did i download the apk again and moved it in /system/app?) but anyhow it started work flawless at the next reboot (also the swipe function!) . I have tried booth and countless other path and reboot, but there's no way to see it installed. I can of course install it whit the default android package installer.

I believe the apk must be inside a folder (like all the others)
Name that folder "nexuslauncher".
Then rename the apk file to " base.apk"
Finally, move the apk file into the nexus launcher folder, then give it the proper permissions and reboot.
Hello, thanks for the reply.
I just tried doing as you said, but still nothing. I forget to mention that if I install it manually, it get uninstalled at reboot. As attachment a couple of screenshot: the first taken when the app is installed, before the reboot, the second one taken after the reboot: the whole "installation information" tab is missing after reboot ?

Install it using the package installer, then use titanium backup to move it to the system.
Not even titanium backup worked.
This is by far the strangest thing I've ever witnessed.
For records, TB "convert to system app" feature took the Pixel launcher's app folder in /data/app, packed it as com.google.android.nexuslauncher.apk and placed it in /system/app/.
Still, it keep getting ignored on reboot.
As attachment a screenshot pre &post reboot. I do also try to remove all orphan data about PL, and deep searched the whole volume looking for PL residual, deleting anything.
I tried also flashing it with openGapps, with the same result. (Google camera, installed with the same openGapps installer, is up and working).
Now, I can totally live without PL, but I'm really curious about what's happening
A late update: in case someone at some point get through this post.
The launcher work fine (swipe right included) if I unroot the device after placing it in the app folder: still don't know why ?

place apk file in /system/app folder and install that apk file then reboot your android.
Just tried, no luck with the working apk placed in /system/app and than installed from that path. I tried also to maintain the folders structure /system/app/com.google.android.apps.nexuslauncher-1 and install from that path, still without luck: in both cases the app is gone after the reboot.
Thanks for your interest.
Ok, it's done for good.
I cleaned the /data/app folder from all the launcher installation: there were something like 5 launcher folders. Placed the APK in /system/priv-app/Nexuslauncher and installed with the "root package installer" of FX explorer instead of the standard package installer. Don't know why, and I got the filing that I already have done this a couple of thousands time, but this time it worked.

I try but error when verification pack before flash
Tried to install with the dload method but without success...
Install aborted.
Files was downloaded with the "Firmware Finder" app:
update.zip
update_data_public.zip
update_EVA-L09_hw_eu.zip
up, no one?
Try telcode to update.
Tried through fw finder, proxy and failed. Do you guys think I could brick the phone when updating through dload?
Follow these instructions provided here:
http://prntscr.com/f3sav5
Source: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/rom-stock-rom-eva-l19c636b168-t3419586/page190
As shown above you don't flash the zip file if you didn't know already, you do it in a certain order with dload folder containing UPDATE.APP (including data folder for 2nd flash [Make sure you don't use same UPDATE.APP when doing another flash] as shown in instructions) on microSD card.

What is the difference between FULLOTA-MF-PV and

Im updated to B386 FULLOTA-MF-PV and my calendar app is missing too.
The "calendar.apk" file seems broken. Trying to install manually failed.

Any solution? Or just wait for next update to see if apps gets back?

Just download the EU package. Than open the data folder inside the zip file. There you will find hw_init and search for the agenda app, etc. Extract them and place them manually in system/app. Reboot. That is working for me.
Your solution is only for those who have rooting the device.
Hello to everyone, I installed the firmware, but I lost the theme and calendar icon ... how can i recover it?
No one can without root and manually put it on system folder right now

Got a rooted op7p & various versions of my favourite apps installed that I don't want to update. Because there not the latest versions they stay stuck in my update list in the play store!
Is there a magisk module or app I can run to remove them from the list so I'm not constantly told to update or accidentally update it?
Think I might have solved it!
Went into Titanium backup pro, found the app, scrolled across to 'special features', then 'detach from the market'! There no longer in the update list now anyway ?
Detach is one that is for this
Titanium Backup like you found is another option
However, in my experience, both apps don't keep apps removed. After some time, they will show up again
Yeah your right, already popped back up!
Any idea how to permanently get rid of them?
You can turn off updates from the google play store itself, and it never notifies you.
Go into google play > Settings > Auto-update apps | Set to Don't auto-update apps. If I want to update something, I go in manually and choose what I want to update.
As for Magisk modules, also under settings, turn off Check Updates.
Titanium Backup was my first play store purchase for those features as well

Make sure you create a txt file named as peulist.txt under root directory /data/cache/peulist.txt... once done reboot after flashing the file and include the apps with there package name that you want to exclude from the update list.

Um... any idea how you can UNDO this, so all available updates will show up again? I've tried disabling the module and rebooted, but the changes seem to stay...
Does anyone know what exactly this module does/changes? It does not seem to be really well documented...
