[Q] Having problems installing TB - Asus Transformer TF700

Hi, I downloaded Titanium Backup and tried to install it but it keeps saying that there is no storage space and that I should clear some space. But i checked my storage and i still have about 27gb of free space left. I also tried installing and uninstalling other apps and it works fine its just TB that does not work. Anyone have any idea whats going on?
I have attached a couple screenshots so you can see.
Thanks in advance
Cheers,
deocare

What does the "Storage" page in Settings say?
Does it work if you install it directly from the Play app?

it says 25gb of free space and ive tried installing it directly from the playstore as well does not work but every other app works

OK, then the error message does not state the real problem.
Next idea: Install CatLog, then try installing TB again until it fails, then open CatLog and scroll up until you find the real error message. Or instead use adb logcat from a PC if you prefer that.

i got this from the logcat but don't know what it means nor on how to fix the problem

I think you may have too many apps running somehow. Try clearing your cache and davik cache. Have you tried side loading TB? You can download the previous version directly from them. Just remember to enable third party apps installs. If it works, you'll be able to upgrade to the latest version via in app or Google Play.
I don't know how to read the catlog, so no help there.

I've had this problem several times. It usually happens when you've installed it once before. What you need to do is go into /data/app and delete the Titanium Bacukup .odex file. I can't remember the full file name, but it'll have titanium backup in the name.
You should the be able to re-install fine.

I've read something similar when searching for the error message, but I don't understand where such an odex file would come from (usually, odex files exist only for system apps - the user-installed apps have dex files in /data/dalvik-cache instead).
But yes, deleting everything related to TB from /data/app, /data/data and /data/dalvik-cache is the next thing to try - the file names start with com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup (or, in dalvik-cache, with [email protected]@" prefixed). You need a root-enabled file manager for this, I use Ghost Commander.

Problem with Market, Browser and GMail on JF RC9

Hi folks.
i just flashed my g1 from jf 1.43h to jf rc9 but i can't get the market running.
when i start it, it either closes immediately or tries to load the license agreement and then closes before i can press anything.
i went 1.43 - wipe - rc9 - rc9(bcs someone mentioned that he solved the latitude problem with installing again) - wipe.
any suggestions?
greetings,
hg
edit:
can't open the browser either, wth is wrong there?
don't have any problems with rc9 JF. Must be something else
I got this as well, a little digging with logcat told me what was wrong for me
1. I still had my 1gb "for flashing only" micro sd in and had moved my market to the now-removed 16gb micro sd
2. The sqlite db was corrupt, deleting my app cache (which took a while because it was huge) got the market app up and running again
However I'm not seeing paid apps at all
Don't have any of those problems, but as with the poster above I cannot see any of the paid apps. Shame

logcat just says that the process has died, is there anything specific i could look for?
regarding 2., do you mean "delete data" in the application menu?
if so, didn't help :/
and i found out that i can't read/write emails, i can open googlemail and see my emails but when i try to open one or write a new one, i see the googlemail screen again. that makes 3 of the most important programs not working, market, browser and gmail..
I went into the cache directory as root and did "rm *"
pervious to your upgrade had you moved your app caches? because it really sounds like that is the problem

tried that, gives me a "lost+found is not empty".
cd'ed in, rm *, cd .., rm -rf lost+found, "l+f is not empty"...
and no, i never moved my app cache :/
update:
wiped, flashed rc8(browser/market working fine), flashed rc9, tried - not working, wiped, tried - not working..
did a little logcat > logcat.txt, complete version(minus my email adress) is here:
http://cxg.de/?id=uctysaTAVLWvzZm
interesting parts(where i started the browser and market) are here:
http://cxg.de/?id=HsZfwJrIChScMNl
this is so frustrating, i have no idea what i've done wrong or what i can do to fix it
edit:
damn, sorry for the bump, wanted to do an edit.. it's getting late
Help! Me Too, I was on Cyan and switched to Super D, and somewhere along the way I lost Browser and Market, FC all the time, whether I switch back to either, and flashed spl and radio again, wiping over and over. Is there a way to re-install these or revert the phone to stock from here? Everything else works fine, so it sucks that I have no browser.

Dude, do you even know what RC9 or who JF is?
dude - why the hell would you resurect a dead thread? one that died in peace 11 months ago
u sure you are wiping in the right order?
wipe the dalvik cache (or just reformat the ext partition), flash HTC 1.6, wipe, flash CM

[HOW TO] Restore Apps saved by "Titanium backup" when we can't run it

Hi!
Probably, most of you have experienced that Titanium Backup can't be used in some ROMs because of (for example) the incompatibility with ext partitions. That is why I make this mini-guide about how to restore apps (maybe on other ROM) previously saved with Titanium Backup :
What we need
Previously saved apps, on a external SD (Obviously )
ES File explorer (It can be downloaded via PlayStore)
NOTE BEFORE STARTING: You can't restore the data of the app, only the app (apk).
Let's start:
1- Enter on /sdcard/TitaniumBackup/ and search the app you wanna restore:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2- Let's asume that we want install "Flash Player" (for example). When we find it, we can see that there are three files with (moreless) the same name:
3- The only file we need is wich one that has the ".apk.gz" extension (normally it appears like the 3rd), ensure by long pressing it and then entering in "properties":
4- Once we have our desired file, we press on it and we will enter on the ".apk.gz" file. Then, press again and we will get the installation screen:
Ta-da! Magic!
Hope that this mini-guide helped you and of course, you liked it.
Thanks for the info man! I was using CM7 but it had not full superuser and ext support, so i couldn't work properly with it... Now I can install my saved apps.
Regards.
Big help, a massive thank you.
Obviously this would take forever, but thanks!
Thanks for the info but it's not working for me. I tried this using ES file explorer. I located the file alright, but when I tried installing it, it said install failed.
DId I miss something? or is there something wrong with the file?
Again thanks for the info.
neat but one question
Hey man i find your idea cool, but however that does not recover lost data, or am i doing something wrong?
Sorry for the necro, but this thread really helped me so I thought I'd chime in.

My Titanium Backup kept crashing everytime I tried to restore an app. I fixed this by following this guide and then going to the Titanium Backup to restore data. Once you installed the app with this guide the app shows up in Titanium under backed up apps. Then just click the app and ONLY restore data. No crashes and you get your data back!

[Q] Need help with com.android.systemui has stopped working

Hi all,
everytime I reboot the phone I get this error message.
I think it's because I used titanium backup to delete 3 files which had to do with korean / hindu and another language file or something similar...
besides the screenshot, I have no idea how to provide logs.
Appreciate the assistance.

Attached LOGCAT
Pretty sure it's the files you deleted. Are you on stock rom? If so, just flash the system.img. If custom Rom, dirty flash it
If I'll flash system.img, then I'll lose some settings.
Is there a way to download the system apps or open the .img file?
if none of the above, can you please see if there's an error in the logcat?

Download a stock rom zip (make sure you get the deodex or odex one that matches your current set up) and open zip. Browse to /system/app/ and pick the apks you need. Move them to your internal storage and use a file explorer with root access to copy to the /system/app folder in your phone. Make sure you change the permissions and reboot. IF that is what caused it, that will get you back to normal. If it doesn't, then just dirty flash. You really won't lose that much stuff.
Also, sometimes just clearing caches and fixing permissions in recovery can help, and if it doesn't, it won't make it worse.
If you need more help, make sure you post quote or hit me up on Hangouts.

looking at the logcat I uploaded I searched for "fatal" and it found 1 fatal issue which is com.android.systemui and it appears to be something with the battery icon which I changed using GravityBox. But the change was a week ago so I don't know what was changed.
Switching back to stock battery icon and I no longer have this issue.
But it seems that I have more errors on the log file. Do you of a forum which can assist with understanding the errors I have and how to fix them?

I get this after a titanium backup restore. No idea why it does it I mean isn't that what titanium backup is for?

internal storage problem

my phone can't see its internal storage, though the data is still there. I'm running tin latest developer preview, flashed clean and rooted with code blue. everything was fine, but I dirty flashed xtra smooth 1.5 and then reverted to my stock rooted backup a day later because of battery issues. since then I cannot download any file from the browser, it starts and then says unsuccessful after a second, and I also can't download a file from my google drive. play store works fine however. if I open the aosp gallery the folders for my internal storage images (camera, instagram, vsco, downloaded, etc.) just show as blank, with pictures saying "no thumbnail available." however, videos show blank as well but have the play button, and if I hit it the file will play normally, and if I attach one of the blank images to something like hangouts or an email they will show up. if I try to the back up function of any apps that offer it, like my alarm clock or pedometer it fails. though they can see the old file is there and restore from it. lastly, file explorer programs show my sdcard folder to be empty, though they are obviously not. I generally use es, but have tried several others with the same result. if I view it via twrps file explorer in recovery things are normal. any help?
Read the /sdcard sticky in general
thanks, it is a great sticky, but after reading it i dont see any solution/reference to my problem. the issue is not that data is deleted or corrupt or anything along those lines, it is that my phone- when booted into android- is not seeing my files. the data is there, but something is wrong and i cannot see them. for clarification, its not just /sdcard that is showing as empty in file explorers, /data, /storage and many others are showing empty too, though not everything as folders like /sys and /system are showing up as normal.
Mine is doing the exact same thing and is blowing my mind, it knows the folders are there, it says I have 7 GB full but the folder is emptey in any file explorer
heres the error i get when trying to download a podcast, i get a similar EACCESS permission denied error when trying to back up an app, but like i said, if the app already has a backup on the storage i can restore it no problem

It's like there is something disabling it from being seen by the system
I had a similar issue, doing this resolved it:
adb shell
su
restorecon -FR /data/media/0

Fixed the problem by reflashing the Stock Firmware.No idea what was causing the problem.
If you are facing the same problem,read it (what "Dark3n" suggested ) before proceeding for a reflash.
Hi guys,the Infamous "Error downloading app from market.There is insufficient space on the device."problem is back to haunt.I am unable to find a solution even after an intensive research and troubleshooting
When I am trying to install the applications from the Google Play Store, I am getting this error.
"Error while downloading <application_name>. There is insufficient space on the device"

While I have sufficient space (500 MB) in the internal memory.I can’t even install the small apps like Root Checker.ASUS apps are also not getting installed.
I have faced the same error in the past on my previous devices but that got resolved after wiping the cache partiton via CWM Recovery.But this time the problem is so persistent.
Things I have tried :
>Cleared cache using Clean Master and CacheMate.
1.Checked and if there's any “ .odex file” in “/data/app”.NO .odex file there.
2.Wiped cache partition via recovery.
3.Force Stopped “Google Play Store” and “Google Services”.Cleared “Data” and “Cache”
4.Force Stopped “Google Play Store” and “Google Services”.Cleared “Data” and “Cache” and uninstalled “Updates”.
5.Stop the market app.Then clear the cache from inside the task manager according to this post.
This error is annoying the crap outta me and I am at my wits end on this one.
P.S. Yes,I know,I can use "FolderMount" OR use "Link2SD" to link the apps to SDCard,I just don’t understand the point of wasting 500 MB space.That’s beyond comprehension.
[Asus Zenfone5 A501CG] [Rooted] [Android : 4.4.2] [Build :ASUS_T00J_WW_user_2.21.40.44] [Stock Recovery]
(Updated to 2.21.40.44 via OTA.Do I need to "Factory Reset" my device ?)
Ever faced the same issue ? Any clues ?
Any help on this problem would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thank you!!
Could be a permission issue, or preexisting files that fail to be overwritten.
Try SD Maids CorpseFinder and enable all extra filters in the settings, that should find issues with preexisting files.
Make sure that you have enough space specifically on /data/data.
If you can record the failed install in a logcat there might be more specific information.

Thanks for the response buddy.I had already fixed the problem by flashing latest firmware by the time I checked your post.
You are right,that could be a permission.I have been using SD Maid for a long time and no doubt it's such a wonderful must have utility,unfortunately I didn't think about the preexisting files Anyway,it might be useful for othere users.
Thanks again for your support and developing such a wonderful app
Really appreciate that.
