Problem with audio breaking when playing something in background and lock, any help? - Mate 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!!
I have an issue with my Mate8, I really don't know if this is in all phones or just in mine....
It's when a song or a video is playing, and when the power button is pressed to lock the phone, the audio breaks for like half a second, but if you press the button again to unlock, it do it again, and everytime you press the lock button.... it kinda annoys me a lot.
The rare is that this only happens when the audio is coming from the speakers; when i have anything plugged in (headphones or whatever) it dissapear, and with bluetooth headphones dissapears too.
It happens with all apps, spotify, native app, soundcloud, vlc, poweramp...etc
Thanks a lot!!
Best regards, ElĂas.

I did have this problem previously after flashing a pre-rooted rom of version B320, but it went away after I flashed the stock rom back.
Since you haven't mentioned anything about custom roms and/or rooting, I'm going to assume you're on a stock rom at the moment, in which case I'd suggest a factory reset (backup data 1st of course)
If you're running a customized rom I'd suggest discussing it in whichever thread you got that rom from as the issue may be specific to that rom

No problem, please leave feedback after if it worked or not, may just help someone else down the line...

I'm on B320 and this happens to me too! Please come back and tell us if it disappeared after a factory reset because I might do one as well.

I'm wondering if that might be a CPU usage issue, try go to settings - advanced - battery manager - power plan, and set it to performance mode to see if the problem still occurs

SOLVED!
It appears to be some setting in Nova launcher that caused this, i have to install/uninstall a lot to get into this, but 100% sure is some setting in nova, just did a clean reset of the phone and everything superb! reinstalled nova but this time, trying not to modify a lot like before and it's working perfectly.

help is needed with wm6

Dear friends
I succeeded in flashing my device with wm6 (TNT 1933) yesterday
till now I found no troubles except:
1- the side button that control the volume does nothing ??
2- less important, the ringtones of the old phone and jig are not found with this version
so can anyone help me
best regards
i would see what software you are installing as i have exactly the same rom on my wizard and the slider volume works fine. Try uninstalling some apps and soft resetting to see if it can be used, then you will find what program is causing the problem. If that doesnt work i would just reflash it again.
As for the default sounds they were crap anyway, so why bother lol

[Q] Weird issue

Hi everyone,
I searched before I posted, but couldn't find a similar issue.
I'm running Cognition 3.04, and touch input seems to freeze up. If I let the screen go to 'sleep' and unlock the phone it will work for a few seconds, then start freezing again. Sometimes I can just wait a couple seconds and it will accept input. Even after a reboot, it will start this behavior after a few minutes.
The issue goes away when I go back to stock 2.1, though.
I realize the obvious solution is to stay with stock, but I was just curious if anyone else had experienced this and knew of a better solution (who wants to be on stock).
Thanks in advance.
That has happened to me before. Went away with a fresh flash and wipe of cache.

You didn't restore system data when you flashed this, did you?

Do you have any over/underclock settings applied? Are there are any voltage settings that you find?

The first time I flashed, I did that which I later realized to be a huge mistake. When this issue started, I flashed back to stock did a master clear and reflashed Cog, but the issue remains. Is there some step I missed in clearing out the old stuff?
This happens to me in swype occasionally. Super annoying bc it thinks I am taking my finger off the screen when I am not causing swype to be worthless. after a reboot it goes away

I haven't played with anything other than flashing Cognition onto the phone.
I'm going to try going through the whole thing again, but this time not reinstalling any old apps/data through Titanium Backup. I'll set everything from scratch and see if that makes a difference.

How do I restart without shutting down first?

I've used Sense ROMs, CM, AOKP, PA and others and I've never seen a ROM, stock or otherwise, that didn't have an option to restart from the power menu. Am I missing something really basic here or is there really not a Restart option on Kit-Kat? It's a small thing, but kind of annoying.

.... i don't recall really ever seeing a STOCK rom that had a restart option by default. Usually only really see that on custom ROM's, be it modified from stock or from AOSP. Probably because for the most part, unless you're installing custom ROM's or something, there usually isn't much of a reason to NEED to just do a reboot.
Never been an option on stock roms.
There us software that can do that but I think you have to be rooted. The one I use is Elixir 2 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bartat.android.elixir&hl=en
I also use it for adding a status bar "widget" with toggle and shortcuts....
There are some other apps that do only the power like you want but I don't know them.
i second this -- is there any viable option to doing this? turning my phone off and then on again is a bit annoying.

Haha but you could power it off and turn it back on and do the whole process manually in about 20 seconds.

[Q] Selecting wifi causes settings to crash on oneplus one

On my oneplus one, whenever wifi is enabled and I select it, settings crashes. If wifi is not turned on, however, and I select wifi, it does not crash. Then, when I turn on wifi, it crashes. This is quite annoying because I cannot connect to any new networks. If the problem persists, I'm going to have to attempt to return my oneplus on, which would be sad because I really like it.
Here is a video which better explains my problem.
Any suggestions are welcomed!!
EDIT: I cannot post the link as I have not made ten posts. As soon as I have I will edit it in.

Are you using a theme? Switch back to stock theme and give it a try again.

Yup, that seemed to solve the problem. Thanks man, I'm surprised I didn't think of that myself. I've only been on cyanogenmod for a few days, so still getting used to it. Thanks again for the help!

Try other CM themes its crashing due to the following reasons
- Your CM Theme hasn't been updated and is causing problems with the theme manger
- Your CM theme is updated and the theme manger that is used on stock CM 11S is conflicting.

Question AOD and screen wake on notifications stopped working

Hi all!
I've been searching for a solution for some time but couldn't find any.
Always On Display stopped working on my Pixel 6a. It's all turned on in the settings but it simply doesn't work. It works only in those cases:
1. When device is rebooted into an Airplane mode
2. When device is rebooted into the Safe Mode
3. When device is rebooted but not unlocked for the first time
There are also no notifications displayed so screen wake on notification doesn't work. Same story as above.
I thought there is some app blocking it but couldn't really figure out which, I tried to disable many of them but none helped.
I did a factory reset once but issue came back after few days.
I seriously have no idea what might it be. Hope someone here might have had similar problem and found a solution.
Thanks!

Would you be down to try flashing a custom ROM?
I've read in another thread not long ago someone saying their Tap to Wake randomly stopped working. We narrowed it down to an issue with the proximity sensor (so the phone thought it was in a pocket/covered, therefore didn't let Tap to Wake work, he had to use the power button to turn the screen on). He then flashed a custom ROM (it was LOS, I think), and that solved the issue for him.
I've also had some issues with the stock ROM, flashing a non-factory one solved all of them
If you want to keep on using the factory ROM, you might wanna try using the Android Flash Tool instead of just factory resetting to make sure no corrupted settings can live on.

I would say it does not have anything in common with the proximity sensor since it works fine with airplane mode turned on. I want to stay with the factory ROM. Maybe it's an issue that will be fixed any time soon?

Why do you ask for advice if you just want to "wait for it to get fixed"?
If you've done a factory reset already, it's not a hassle re-flashing the factory ROM (since you already have your data backed up).
Fwiw, the guy with the proximity sensor issue also had it sometimes work and other times not, much like your issue
