Xposed conflict with camera mods in MM - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After lots of tries i found there is a problem between Xposed and All other camera mods for our Z3 (i have no info about other phones like Z2). So we cant use Xposed + Pexocam or Cyberian or... in Marshmallow (there is no problem with LP!) and it gives u something like this message: "Camera is in use by another application, please close other apps..."
(Note i tested with both .575 and .570)
Anyone has a workaround or has both Xposed and camera mod without problem??

I have xposed v85 and have used both of those mods. Likely it's a module than xposed as a whole as I have no trouble.
Have you confirmed it works without xposed installed? Maybe it's another mod?

Yeah I confirm its Xposed, Without it everything works fine
I just had gravity box on xposed but i cleared its data so that must be a xposed problem

I confirm again
Tried once again with just xposed installed (all modules except greenify - which is inactive- were uninstalled) and camera mods not working.
I dont know how this could happen since you have both xposed and camera mods!
I did this:
flashed rom --> flashed Pexocam v8 --> Everything working fine --> Flashed latest Xposed --> Pexocam not working!!!

Flash xposed first.
I always flash ROM, Xposed, then mods.
Tbh it shouldn't make much difference but something to try.
I'm on MWA 5.0.0 by Pandemic.
If you use custom ROM perhaps something has been edited that the camera required to function?
There's a lot of variables here :/
Could try another ROM with xposed and camera mod and see if it works?
Troubleshooting is gonna suck on this one as it works for some and not others.

Well i tested flashing xposed then camera, makes no difference
I use stock pre-rooted .575, it mustn't be problem because i had that problem with .570 too but there wasn't any problem with LP roms with same xposed version!
I saw some other people had this problem, i used almost all of their solution like clearing data and cache, completely removing camera then installing new mod, etc, but non of them works. That's a xposed problem and idk what's wrong!
Note that I'm using D6633 variant

Its "not" an xposed problem, its quite easy to blaim xposed but i use it a long time and totally no issues with it, maybe is it just the camera mod or duplicated lines in the end of your build.prop !

I use xposed for a long time too and I never had any issues with it - thanks to its creator - but whenever i uninstall xposed, camera mods work well. Idk if there is any problem with build.prop but it mustn't be camera mod problem since many users installed it successfully.

Do you have superuser mod?
Are you using the versión of MM?
latest versión?
Logs?

1. I had Rajeev's Superusermod for cyberian camera III since it was needed but for PexoCam i didn't flash it.
2. I use MM version
3. Everything is at latest version
4. No logs

Hello, sorry that I've dug out an old post. But yes, my Xposed is also conflicting with camera mods (both Cyberian & Pexocam). Camera mods worked when Xposed framework was not installed but once installed, crashed.
Have you found any workaround?
On stock pre-rooted .575 (D6653) as well.
Thanks!

I haven't found any workaround yet
Maybe professionals could help us if they see this thread

[Q] Rom question !!

Hi Guys!
Just got my nexus 5, I was wondering as to which current ROM's available offer any of the following :
1) Halo
2) PIE control
Thanks in advance !
Not sure about ROMs but if you're happy with the stock ROM and just want those two features then you can install the Xposed Framework and download Gravity Box for PIE control and XHalo modules. I know the Gravity Box module is functional, not sure about Halo since I don't use it. Hope this helps.

just go through the roms and read the op's, they list all the features

Thank you, i will look into Xposed Framework. One question though, does installing Xposed Framework require the device to be rooted ? I know i have to root the device to install a custom ROM but was just wondering if Xposed Framework can be installed without rooting.

I looked through all the ROMs in the nexus 5 sections, only a few of them list change logs the rest just instructions on how to install the ROM. I believe there was just ROM thread that actually listed out all the features added to the ROM.
I understand that nexus 5 development is in its early stages and I do not expect to see full feature functionality for a while. Being kinda new to the android scene i am still trying to understand all the terminology used so change logs really dont elaborate on anything yet. Thank you though

1) you don't need root to flash custom ROMs. Only custom recovery. You do however, have to unlock your bootloader.#
2) Yes, Xposed needs root.

Xposed on VZ non-dev Android 4.4

Just wanted to check if any folks here have tried installing Xposed framework on a non-developer edition Moto X (I have VZ) on Kitkat.
Any issues faced like force close etc? Also I read that MotoXposed does not work, what other extensions are people using on Xposed on 4.4? Does Gravitybox, Xprivacy etc work fine?
It works fine for me, you just need root and access to write to system. Two threads in original development have guides for this.

Just use GravityBox [KK] from the modules section of XposedInstaller. Works perfectly and has tons more tweaks than MotoXposed.

I second that. Using GB KK and it has all the main interface tweaks that I need. No FC. MotoXposed doesn't even work in KK, so don't even bother trying it.

S5 Ultra Power Saving Mode with Grayscale and all!

Dear all,
The S5 is full of features that were backported to otger Samsung devices. This time, I'm sharing xperiacle's S5 UPSM for the Note 3 Xposed module. It works perfectly on our Grand 2 because both phones share a lot of things in software.
This is the whole UPSM thing, grayscale LCD and all. But this is NOT taken from the S5. xperiacle created this using Xposed as a close copy.
You'll need the Xposed framework and root permissions.
Download link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2865050&d=1406040576
You'll need Xposed. Google how to get that if you don't know how.
Again, this is only my testing, NOT my work.
UPDATE: THE LATEST VERSION NOW INCLUDES THE REAL UPSM! Grab it from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2938511&stc=1&d=1410810201

Don't use the S5 UPSM one. Use the Note 3 one, which is what I'm talking about. The S5 one implies that you already have an S5, barely providing a shortcut to the UPSM from the firmware itself, which we don't have.

Now i know what was the problem ...Other modules including UPSM were not working I then searched for the solutions online and finally got an answer you have to have modules on internal storage and not on sd card ...now they are working very well

you cant tweak the rom as the gravitybox and xblastools arent yet supported in the 5.1 version
check this list for compatible xposed modules -

Which Xposed Modules Are You Using?

Hello. I am running cm12.1 on my 6045I thanks to the work of the OP in the cm thread. I have Xposed installed with two modules: GravityBox and Instagram Downloader.
I thought I would start a thread for us to share which modules we are using and what our experiences have been. Please chime in.

You'd be better off to check in the xposed for 5.1.1 thread and review the list of modules they say will work with 5.1.1. It should give you a good start. In some cases you can work around issues for example I had the speed monitoring module installed which doesn't work with 5.1.1 but was able to turn on a similar feature in gravitybox which does.
