This happened yesterday. I was on CM 13. Everything worked fine. But now, the phone kept rebooting whenever I ran an application. What's worse, it started hanging for 5 minutes and even the power button didn't respond, after which it heated and then rebooted.
I flashed the stock ROM 5.1 Asia retail and the phone said,"Starting apps 1/76" and when it reached 76/76, the phone rebooted. When I tried opening recovery, the phone showed a black screen and kept showing the bootlogo, going black, bootlogo, going black, and again.
I've tried installing other recoveries but the same thing happens.
Basically, the phone is dead.
The only thing that works is bootloader.

Ok. So 14 days ago my wife and I both got S6's for Verizon from a local big box store. (yes, 14. Today is the last day I have to take it back.)
We took the OTA to OE2 and I was able to root both phones with PingPong. Everything was fine until yesterday. Her phone wasn't responding when a call was coming in, so she restarted it by holding in the power button. Now, when it boots up it goes to a black screen after showing the initial "Samsung Galaxy S6" screen. Nothing changes. There is a teal/blue pulsing LED that doesn't go away.
I can enter the recovery and wipe cache, factory reset, safemode, etc. I've tried all of those many times. I can enter download mode and use Odin 3.10.6 to reflash OE2 and it says "Pass". After rebooting, it goes to the "Android is upgrading" dialog and goes through and updates about 248 apps, and then changes to read "Starting apps." It won't go past that screen. I left it on that from 10pm last night until 6am this morning with no change. The battery eventually went dead (from 100%). I've tried Odin many times, and it passes every time.
What are my options? When booting, the padlock is unlocked and says "Custom". I'd really like to get rid of that so I can return it to today without problems. When in Download mode, the system status says "custom".
Please help!!
I've also tried using SmartSwitch on the PC, and it doesn't detect the phone.
Update: I'm trying an Emergency Recovery with Smart Switch. It's at 52% right now. I got a serial number from another S6 so it would allow the download/recovery process to start. It's kind of ridiculous you can't get the serial number for your device from anywhere but the settings page on the phone. (Note: not the IMEI, the actual SN). It's not on the box or back of the phone.
Ok, another update. Emergency Recovery didn't work. It finished, and said that it was successful, but didn't fix the issue.
I took the phone back to the place of purchase and they tried about everything that I had already tried. They ended up just replacing the phone. They said that they never saw this issue before.
I have almost an identical issue except I have not roOted or installed any custom ROMs everything is stock . The fingerprint scanner quit working today and said it required a restart, when I restarted the phone I'm experiencing exactly what you are a black screen and a blue pulsing light. In the stock recovery screen I've tried booting to safe mode USB debugging everything except the factory restore yet I think that is my last resort.
Hi all, I just bought a Nexus 5 brand new from a local carrier in Cambodia about 2 weeks ago and so far have loved the phone. I had upgraded it to Android 6 as soon as I got it with OTA updates and have never modified it in any way, or even rooted it.
Just last night while I was browsing the Internet on it the phone suddenly froze for the first time and turned off. Once I tried to boot it back up, it went to the "Android" text logo and froze midway, once again turning off. Now, whenever I turn it on, it stays stuck at the Google logo.
I've tried booting to the "Start - Restart bootloader - Recovery mode" screen, which works fine, but once I try clicking on Recovery mode, it stays stuck at a black screen which doesn't seem to go anywhere.
Is this a hardware fault? Software problem? Any way I can try to fix this issue without going back to the carrier?
Could be hardware. I suggest taking it back and exchanging it for another phone.
Please help my phone is confused like it is blinking lg logo but not getting on. In charge it gets on but in few seconds it gets off.
I think you are in soft brick state for some reason.. Did you try to do anything prior to this situation?
How did that happened? Similar issue happened to me, heres my post from other thread:
My H955 suddenly rebooted and it keeps on bootloop. It turns on fully and after 10-30 seconds (the hotter it gets, the less time it stays booted up) reboots again. After I left it to cooldown, there was error that root is gone or smth like that, and I had to agree to EULA and terms&conditions but the phone rebooted again. Maybe some kind of update was pushed in or whatever. This is the first time for me to happen. I have not installed new apps or mods on my phone like in two weeks.
Btw, seems like this is soft reboot, because there is no sounds and it didn't asked for SIMs PIN. I guess it has something to do with xposed..
I have used this method http://www.hard-reset.mobi/lg-g-flex-2-hard-reset/#to do factory reset. It seems to work, however phone still reboots. @mnshkpr8 try this to do factory reset, maybe this will help you.
Later I will try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-flex2/help/to-unbrick-g-flex-2-ls996-t3286105
Hi. I have similar problem here.
My phone wont pass LG logo if without charging on, the phone keep booting.. And if i charging on the phone just works fine, but if i plug out the charger the phone just turn off and restart again. Mine still using stock rom. Any suggest ?
This happened to me today as i edited one system file so I could get any app on split screen, I used flashtool and flashed the same kdz in normal mode, It flashed and everything is normal again.
any solution to this?
I've had my LG Optimus L90 for 2-3 years and it began to get very slow about 3 weeks ago. Certain apps began to not open at all, and eventually it crashed and got stuck on the lg startup screen with 'fastboot' shown on too I white letters. I looked this up and apparently you have to deliberately enter fastboot mode, so I assume something wonky is up with my software.
Since, I've flashed stock kdz multiple times. It works fine perfectly for awhile, but after a day or two the home screen will begin to flash black and crash over and over, and eventually the phone reboots and gets stuck at the white T-Mobile screen, and sometimes the LG screen before that. Just last night, after yet another flashing of stock ROM, it just crashes out of nowhere without the usual home screen crashing and reboots and I had to flash stock AGAIN.
Am I doing something wrong? Do I have to clear out gunk from the internal or something? The phone works perfectly after I flash stock, and you can't tell anything is wrong until it the home screen starts to crash multiple times and eventually the phone crashes but wont boot up. It only lasts about 2 days max before it crashes again.
Thanks for any help!

Bump.
hi all, ive had my s7 for 3 years now, amazing phone, but a few weeks ago this freezing reboot problem appeared and idk whats going on, my phone isnt rooted, and ive never messed with custom OS or any of that, its on android 7 stock, the battery is still good, but im wondering if this freezing problem is software or hardware related, when it freezes and reboots it gets stuck on the first logo, if i dont force it to shut off it will stay that way or keep rebooting till it runs out of battery, so after i force it to shut off sometimes it reboots immediatly and sometimes it stays black for a while and boots randomly, i try to go into recovery menu and most times it freezes on no command screen and if i leave it there the phone gets incredibly hot, so i force shut it again and this time with the charger connected so it shows charging icon as if its shut down... i leave it for a while then turn it on and its working untill it freezes again... i am considering installing lineage os incase the firmware is corrupt but im not very familiar with all of this and after reading other posts where the user did way more complicated stuff and the problem maintained... im not sure if its really gonna work, so im looking for advice on here
