Hi,
I bouth a used Z5 and I just found that it was unlocked and then restored the drm.
I read some posts saying that you lose functionality, and that it also affect to the camera. Other posts say that that depends on the way you unlock it, others say that you cant restore it, and others that you can depend on your the method.
My security service info stands like this:

What functions am I missing? Can I get them back?
Look, about the drm keys, if the one who unlocked the phone kept the drm keys then you can restore it. If that person didnt keep the drm keys, then you lost them for good. You cant use any other z5's drm keys or you will brick your phone. The good news is, you can restore all the functionalities back by flashing a zip file. You will have to root the phone first.

may be he reffers this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z5/development/sony-credentials-restore-unlocking-t3296383
but you need to have root permissions and a custom recovery.... if you want to know how to install it here's a nice guide step by step

I talked with the last owner, and he said that he already installed drmrestore.zip...
but the screen still stays like the screen I posted in the first message.
How can I check if I have lost functionallity? how cna I make sure that the camera and everything is fully working ok?

Hi.
I think so in your first post have the solution about your questions...
When you flash drmrestore .zip restore marlin and widevine and it appears ok. But fido Keys appears not provisioned.
Then it's possible that mirrorlink doesn't work, and camera work slowly.
When you restore your drm Keys you can read in fido Keys: provisioned and all functions works fine.

I was flashing my gsmarti's ROM this morning... I follow all the steps and it is successfully go into the "flashing environment"... Unfortunately, the process stuck at the beginning... and suddenly, it turn off itself... then, I cant switch on my phone anymore... and I dont even get the static Gigabyte screen as well...
Is there any solution to this?
Thank you!
Do you know where to find the Rom Upgrade Utility for your phone?
If you go to your carrier's website and log into it, do you by any chance have a downloadable file that will restore your phone to its factory settings?
There's also many different GSmart models .. which one do you have?
I looked up Gsmart phones, and their support site has firmware upgrades listed for some of their phones .... see if you're is listed.
http://www.gigabytecm.com/eng/gbc_supportcategory.aspx?sid=7&tabIndex=3
Thank for you reply =)
Actually i am using gsmart i (64)... and i have the latest firmware with me...
Because this device is using POCKET GHOST to restore and backup the system...
as i mentioned earlier... my "flashing" process is stuck at the beginnig... so, in my opinion, i think the pocket ghost has been deleted and i cant do the flashing anymore... is it true?
If it run's Windows Mobile ... you should be able to run the RUU at the bootloader screen....
As far as how do you get into the bootloader on your phone ... I have no idea.... on mine, I soft reset while holding the camera button in and keeping the camera button held in until the bootloader screen comes up which looks something like this (note i just randomly found this pic on google images)

Hi... thank you ya...
but i am still stuck in the black screen...
and i cant find any way to access into the bootloader...
i am searching the other sites... and i came across this:
they said if anything goes wrong during "flashing", the ROM will be locked...
is that true?
and one more thing, the bootloader, is it almost same as the bios (cmos) of
our pc?
and for your information... a lot of people are having the same problem...
thx thx... appreciate!! =)
Is this the bootloader?
Yep, that is our bootloader for the Gsmart series. On the i300 its accessed by pressing the red phone, green phone and power buttons at the same time.
If you want to change your ROM then you need to load the new version to your SD card (and I think it needs to be the only contents on the card).
i was using zfusion rom everything was fine that i installed touchwiz rom and it poped up

I face the same problem with provision rom. I flashed the stock rom (the problem is that flashtool ignores simlock.ta) and i relocked the bootloader. Unfortunately no one knows how to solve this problem. My sim card works very well on other devices.

to unlock network softlocked or hardlocked
Hi,
I have my device for a few months now, and I usally use my fingerprint to unlock my device.
However, when I restart the device I cannot put my FP to unlock my device, only with my pattern (After some research I found that is by design and due to security risks).
Yesterday I tried to root my device, the flash was succesful however when my phone restarted he asked for my pattern (as he usally does), but now my pattern is not accepted.
My pattern hasn't changed for about two years now and is the same on my phone and my tablet, so it is not likely I forgot it.
I'm currently stuck with a phone that won't start the OS without my inputting my pattern, however, he won't accept my pattern..
What can I do?
After some research I have discovered I'm not the only one, and that the S7 "forgets" the pattern sometimes.. yet no solution worked for me..
Is there a way to solve this? maybe revert the root? is that even an option?
Please Help

I had this problem and it was because of Device Encryption and because we didn't put in our own password, I think. The way I fixed it was by flashing stock firmware through Odin on to my phone and used the CSC file as this will completely wipe the device including the Encryption.
I didn't worry about the wipe of my Data as Samsung Cloud backs everything up anyways and hope it's the same for you.
Good luck!

Change your password using android device manager on your pc
sadly my latest photos from a trip to italy hasn't backed up from some reason.. so wiping is not an option.. though the phone offers it if I input a wrong password again..
oh and ADM isn't an option since the OP hasn't booted up yet.. it's kernel based I believe
as I said.. ADM isnt an option since he cannot connect with my device
Currently I'm thinking about two solutions,
the first one is to wipe all my data, connect via usb and try to restore it with fonepaw restore..
however, this require me to wipe, and I preffer to avoid that, so the next solution I thought of is mounting the data partition and backing it up, then try to extract the files.. however my phone is encrypted, and to my understanding that is an issue..
if anyone knows how to help my with this *please do so*, I'm in dire need.
If there's a sulotion, however weird and far off - i'll take it.
Few methods here that 'may' work

http://www.samsung-android-transfer.com/recover-android/how-to-unlock-samsung-phone.html
Went over it, sadly since it's not a lockscreen of android, but the kernal lockscreen..
Technical question. If I do root in oneplus 6 then generally this "android, embedded, hardware encryption" will be at risk now, yes? Getting to the files on my phone is now possible, yes? Such a simple scenario. I lose the phone or someone steals and by unlocked bootloader and TWRP can easily preview and rip files from the phone, yes? So it this situation encryption doesnt work. Am I right? However, if I won`t do root and will not unlock the bootloader, then encryption works and without my password or fingerprint there, the phone is only suitable for factory reset, so photo files, etc. are still 100% safe. I understand correctly? What do you think?
Post scriptum... and this fuc#@ng root is just so that you can record conversations in android pie because Google blocked this function

You are epic but, YES!
P.S. I would love someone to convincingly defend unlocking bootloader but preventing the breach of encryption.
That would be nice.

Any solution? Maybe TWRP for password or something? It should be some kind of solution.
So I got the first step, flashing TWRP. But, there's only a version of TWRP for the a10, would this work?
you don't really need twrp for root, just follow this guide

I have previously tried Kingo/King Root which worked on my KitKat Nabi tablet, I tried that on my a10e it failed. Root checker says there is no root for andr 11 on the a10e
whatever you do, do NOT use kingoroot, it basically installs a outdated version of SuperSU (which isn't liked by the community anymore because the original developer sold it to some random company) and bloats ur system up.
Yep, no OEM bootloader unlock option in dev settings
it may be possibly locked to your carrier. again, you can send me a screen recording or get an unlocked phone
My phone appears to be unlocked already, there is no sign of Verizon still being on here. I have since upgraded phones and the SIM card isn't in anymore.
Do I have to factory reset to fully get rid of the OEM?
i found this youtube video with some quick searching. it's in hindi but you can get the gist of it.
I most certainly dont have to disable automatic time right?
i don't know, after you get the option maybe you can set it back
i followed and nothing happened
did you reboot your phone after the fact?
yep, nothing works
