Correct, the mainboard should be replaced if you want a clean knox.

don't worry my friend, if you have hardware problems, will be really difficult to the warranty to not accept it and replace the parts that should be replaced only because your knox is 1 instead of 0, if they do it you can even try to sue samsung, but I aways root my phones and with one phone that I had I sent to warrant to replace some parts ( If I remember right was the LCD and microphone ) and I didn't have any problem with it, I also had and Nexus 5 that I used a lot for about 2 years and it's still working flawlessly ! actually I sold it to buy the S7, but what you have to think is, it can have hardware problems some time, but it's really difficult, today we have a very hard tolerances and a lot of technology in the industries, you can leave and enjoy your phone with root, I can even told you taht you will sell you phone before it starting to have problems on their hardware !

What problem? If it is software relayed maybe we can help
Yeah, in terms of resetting Knox, it's not possible. Whether they'll check for it though is a different matter entirely (some service centres do, some don't).
That said, in any rooting how-to thread, the whole "this will trip Knox and may void your warranty" is prominently mentioned. A good reminder for everyone actually to read before jumping in.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but to overclock ( since I never did it on the phone ) you need to be rooted. And rooting your phone voids your warranty. So the answer is no.If you ever have to use your guarantee you better get jig.Or you can just flashback your stock firmware with its kernel. A friend of mine told me that if this is done without jig they still have a way to see that you tried to lie to them.
But staying with stock roms/kernels for 2 years (in my case) is bull. And you cant even tell if something will break in those two years.. And even if it did, what would it cost you?20 bux..The advantages you get from flashing new roms and kernels worth more than 20 bux in my opinion.Hope I answered to your question.
ty for your reply.
Yes i have a JIG and I used it to reset.
What do you mean with 20 bux??
warranty is for free ?!?!
or did i missunderstood you?

Yes, it is for free.
I meant it like if your microphone gets broken and they dont count your warranty because its their right to believe that this bug may come from the rom you flashed..In most cases they will be wrong but who am I to judge them.
So they will ask you to pay for the repair, which will probably be around 20 bux, thats what I meant.
I'm more concerned in my phone falling out of my pocket and cracking the screen, where the warranty wont help me at all..
So as I said... What are the odds that something will get broken.
I'm 17 years old and I have changed 3 or 4 phones and I have never used my warranty.
Is you knox triggered?
Was it intentional or by accident?
1 - yes knox triggered unintentionally.
1 - not triggered...
I tried to root device for Titanium Backup and Adblocker and maybe to play around a little bit. At first I was afraid of this new counter and how bad it could affect my mobile life. I tried a safe method to root but at least I'd done anything wrong or it hadn't worked with my device at all. So it was an accident but it didn't change anything for me xD. I am used that Samsung devices are die-hard and in the past if something was to repair the most easiest and fastest way was to repair it by myself. So never mind.

I used Root de la Vega and it worked. But when I wanted to try out Knox it told me I'm unable to do so. I checked it and I tripped the flag. But it also has its advantages because I'm pretty much open for new Roms etc
Gesendet von meinem SM-N9005 mit Tapatalk
Latest UK firmware - Knox Flag 0x0 - Rooted with Universal RDLV
But it takes much time to make sure nothing goes wrong. Maybe I'm getting bored from reading forums for hours, just to keep the knox flag at 0x0. If it takes too much afford or stops me from getting new firmwares, I'm not afraid to trigger the flag, because I don't need Knox and the loss in sales value should be marginal.
I'm trippin

does tripping the knox counter affect the system integrity by any chance? a damage to system or anything? or is it just for warranty purposes so that samsung service centers can check for unauthorized modding? i am planning to get a n9005 note 3 myself in the coming days but this knox thing has me spooked...i read it everywhere with so many people tiptoeing around it...thank you

Self explanatory, warranty void 0x1....
Doesn't affect anything else except the using of the Knox security which is geared more for businesses anyway...
Not intentional, vega root method did it. 0x1
New to Samsung... How to check this?
Triggered, intentionally.. I really don't see what the fuzz is about. All these counters, just let them count... I betting that everybody that's on xda usually swaps phones at least once a year and what would you need the warranty for anyway? if somethings broke, you probably broke it yourself and you will be able to fix it. (expecting lots of flame now )

I didn't trigger knox on the 900V with the Kingoapp root.
To check Knox Status :
1. Power Off Phone
2. Hold Power, Volume Down and Home button at the same time till it boots
3. Press Volume Down
4. Check Status then Hold the Power Button till the Phone reboots.
Tripped intentionally .. look at the de la vega thread and cf root thread.. way simpler..
anyway.. who cares.. I live in europe.. the warranty is in the store.. not samsung.. the people working there think root is something from a tree ..
Sammy has fu***d me intentionally as I m on exynos. Updated to mj6 and now it says "warranty bit 1 ".

Tripping Knox is no concern at all for me and shouldnt be for any UK/EU personal user. I would never use Knox itself anyways, to be this is for corporate use not personal. I have Vodafone insurance so if there is a problem with the phone the Knox status is moot.

With you there. Problem is that there aren't many alternatives that are any better, at least in the US. I moved away from Motorola because of that. Ironically, now Samsung is locking down and Motorola is loosening up. My timing sucks.

How soon do you think it could take someone or anyone to gain root on the S7 or S7Edge? I'm in no hurry but down the road say a month or 2 after the release if there is a root I would like to try. I have a Note 4 and after I root I lost Knox. I wonder if that will happen this time around.

I guess the same applies for the GS7.
I would just like root to remove some of the bloat. I have heard that they didn't mess with the OS as much as they have in the past. I would like to be able to use Samsung/android pay, also be nice if someone could enable the adaptable storage of Marshmallow, can't believe they disabled that.

It does. Make no mistake, root on the S7 = tripping Knox. Personally, this doesn't bother me, but if people are buying this phone hoping they can have root and maintain the Knox flag, especially those in territories that support Samsung Pay, they will be disappointed.
root would be great, unfortunately I bought the Verizon version knowing I'll never get root, like my poor note 4 here who all i can do is use a debloater script ?

Was the s6 rooted without tripping knox?
To begin with it was. But then Samsung published an update and closed the exploit that allowed it.
I just want root and don't care about tripping Knox because in Britain and the rest of the E.U it's illegal for them to cancel the warranty just for rooting.
The annoying thing is getting root normally requires a phone wipe. Until Android catches up and all apps are backed up, this is a huge pain

Only if the bootloader is locked. It's the unlocking of the bootloader, which is required to root the phone, which wipes the phone, not the rooting process itself.
In the UK Samsung phones never come with a locked bootloader (to my knowledge anyway, at least none of mine have) so rooting never involves wiping the phone thankfully.

Almost certainly locked.
T-Mobile phones come with an unlocked bootloader.
hi guys!
i guess i have to get the mother board of my s7 (never heard of a phone with so many problems with the motherboard..) and luckily it's still in warranty.
i'd like to know if samsung (actually i guess vodafone as i bought with vodafone) will charge me because i rooted the phone and i have the know counter triggered
thanks a lot!
Flash stock ROM back. In many regions a knox trigger doesn't invalidate warranty.

I may have the same issue than you. My phone mostly freezes when its a bit hot (for example after charging). What did you say to samsung and did they replace the mainboard?
I have had my s8+ for 2 weeks now and i just found out recently that sometimes, it shows some white lines ( i think there were some pink and green ones aswell ) on the top part of the screen. They used to show up while watching movies/Youtube videos and last night i saw them on the home screen and in the settings ( this time they were black ). I googled the problem and there was no one complaining about it. I just hope its a software problem as i do not have waranty nor money to get another phone.
What could be the problem? Thank you in advance.

Contact Samsung. As long as it's not user inflicted, those kind of defects are factory covered.
Regardless of where you bought it.

Definitely if you are in the UK they just use your manufacture date plus 3 months as proof of warranty.

Your device very likely has a hardware problem. This won't get better, and may deteriorate. With that said, it's also very likely that Samsung will repair it for you at no cost. But you'll likely be without a phone for two to four weeks. I'd suggest contacting Samsung, then making arrangements to get by while your phone is gone. Pick up a used device somewhere?
Even if the phone was from the UK or somewhere else (not stolen) you could get this fixed by calling Samsung. If you continue to say you can't contact Samsung all I can surmise from that is that you obtained the phone illegally. EU Warranty is 2 years you have definitely got warranty.
