How do I install fastboot drivers on Windows 7/8?

Just got Nexus S as my secondary daily driver. It came with GB and want to flash factory Jelly bean.
Since I don't have its fastboot drivers install, the mobo can't be correctly detected in fastboot mode.
Where do I get the fastboot drivers and most importantly how do I install them?
Sent from my XDA pimped Neo V
I shared the same problem like you, but i got it to work!
Use the Nexus Root Toolkit, in installs most of the Drivers, including fastboot.
Yup I am also having Nexus S as my secondary driver .. The problem is with windows 8 which doesn't install fastboot driver automatically unlike windows 7 ..
Just install wug's nexus root tool kit to install drivers and follow inststructions .. Note that ADB drivers will be installed without any fuss but fastboot driver installation will be a fuss ..
Make sure to install drivers of PDA planet... The fast boot drivers will be installed but still you wont get it working ..
Just go to the device manager and check for the android devices , there you will find the ADB device listed .. Click on it to update drivers to get a option for browsing the driver files manually.. You can find "let me pick from a list of driver " here choose the fastboot drivers for Nexus S .. Voila you device will be recogonised in fastboot mode and you can check this using step3 of the Root tool kit driver installation.. From now Win8 will automatically choose drivers each time you connect your Nexus S in adb or fastboot mode..

p5110 Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)

Hello.
So today i've decided to update firmware on my p5110.
It was already rooted and with cyan 10. I've installed TWRP 3.0.0.0 via CWM recovery and booted in TWRP. And then i chose Format data and it completely wiped out all of my files. I knew that, but i was thinking that i'll be able to flash ADB Sideload without a problem.
After that i've tried to boot into ADB Sideload, and nothing happened. My PC is not recognizing p5110. Sometimes it's showing notification "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" in Device Manager, but most of the time it's not connected.
So, basically, now i have a tablet with working recovery, without any files on it and with no OS. I can't flash original firmware via Odin, and i can't flash it through ADB sideload, cause it's not recognized.
I reinstalled Samsung USB Drivers on my pc, installed ADB drivers and Android SDK, my other Samsung devices have no problems with USB connection, and the cable is fine.
Also, I have Windows 8.1 64 bit.
Is there any solution? Please, help.
I have exactly this same issue - running windows 10.
Following the CM installation instructions here:
https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_espressowifi
Windows itself complains that the "device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and can not be recognised" and Zadig itself sees it as
"Unknown USB Device (Device desciptor request failed).
Any thoughts on this?
Cheers

Unlocking bootloader in MTK chip phone

I bought a Coolpad Cool 20 phone with MTK chipset manufactured by Coolpad which based on China Mainland. Now I want to install GApps but I cannot find the information about how to unlock this phone.
I tried both `fastboot flashing unlock` and `fastboot oem unlock` command, however it only return `remote: 'unknown command'`. I think the unlock command was been changed by Coolpad.
Any other unlock steps (or boot.img extracter) can be tried?
Download and install Coolpad's Android USB Driver if not done yet. Then it should be possible to flash anything.

Gionee a1 lite cannot reboot into bootloader or enter Fastboot mode through adb pc command

I recently got a gionee a1 lite device and have been trying to get it rooted through pc. I've been attempting to unlock the phone's bootloader but the device simply switches off when I run "adb reboot bootloader" command or when I try to access reboot bootloader through recovery mode.
Has anyone had a problem like this with their gionee a1 lite or anyother device?
Install on PC the matching "Gionee USB Driver" if not already done yet.
