Hi,
yesterday I was on racetrack Nürburgring and tried my new OnePlus One.
Everything was cool except one thing.
Most time, when I took the OPO out of my trousers, the screen was on and an app was open?
Is there a setting for that, that this never happens? Don't want to share battery lifetime to my pockets and don't want to place calls to the whole world.
Is anyone having same problems or could someone help me?
Settings/Interface/Gesture Shortcuts, disable everything.
Transmitted via Bacon
You forgot display -> double tap to wake
It is scheduled to be fixed by OTA-update xnph28s; before unlocking the proximity sensor checks if the device is currently in a pocket.
See bugreport: https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/BACON-16
Good to see, d4fseeker.
Do you know, when this update is ready for download?
Don't want to disable the Oppo features on opo
They say the update should be released in the next week or two.

Where can i see the gerrit of cm11s??

Typically when its ready, it was posted a week ago in 2 weeks time but no promises as they want to get it right in this OTA.
If you can't wait, you can flash custom ROMs as they already have this commit where it checks the proximity sensor. If the proximity sensor is blocked then gestures will be disabled until the proximity sensor is not blocked.

I don't use paranoid android but go into their thread and search for the keyword proximity. Chances are they probably did include it.

Like I said before, I don't use Paranoid Android. Go into the thread and search for the keyword "lockscreen" ... if the ROM is based on CM for the OPO then it will have the gesture controls.
Edit: Heres your answer, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53677403&highlight=gesture#post53677403 next time just search
Not only as stable as CM is, it includes all device specific features of CM like offscreen gestures, Quickboot, Soft/hard buttons...

You either need to upgrade the trousers or keep your hands where they belong - in someone else's trousers.

That is a FIX and not a full-fledged semi-effective workaround. Unacceptable, but thanks for trying.

This is CM inc's chance to show what they can do.
You know they have a One Plus as a test phone but they let it go out with low call volume and sub par signal strength. As well as touch screen problems and more. Just look at the bug reports. There no hiding them.
Software makes the phone work so to me that is what I have to look at.
All in all its a great phone I just expect more from CM inc.

To be fair the phone is still in its infancy stages and is invite only. So in a way you can say we paid for the phone to be "internal beta testers" and when the phone is not invite only thats when its out for the masses.
I agree with you though, these major problems should have been addressed in a hotfix rather than having users wait for the next OTA. Luckily for the most of us, we're able to fix it in our own hands but for those who aren't then they'll just have to wait.

Hi
Weird problem with my device (3 months old), after playing for a while with the device it suddenly starts to make these weird choppy and laggy scrolling every 3 seconds, like it is doing something in the background, i see it when scrolling, when playing, when facebooking or anything else.
I downloaded apps to see if the CPU is workng without touching it, couldnt see anything in the background unless i touched the phone.
Can it be something bad within the Oreo 8.1 code? This is really ruin the user experience i have with it, making it work sometimes likek my old Meizu or even worse.
It goes awaay after rebooting, or after a while by itselfe.
I clean the RAM always, i stopped lots of permission apps to work in the background but cant see the difference.
Any suggestions?
I also had this problem. It completely disappeared when I made a software update.
I think it was temporarily fixed by turning on "deactivate HW-Overlays" in the developer settings. However, as far is I've read, this could decrease battery performance.
Greetings
Thanks ill try it, but i do have the 8.0 version** after an OTA update after i got the phone..
Well i came back to say this tweak works!
It wont get choppy anymore..thanks!

I did exactly what metaxuss instructed me to do, you need to open the Developer mode and right after look in the search button on the Settings for HW overlay, turned it on and now it works like a charm, i hope they will fix it under the next update..

I have found that to happen too, but its a quick fix,
really shame that HTC wont solve this, and why would it happen only on our devices?
Same problem for me. If I disable the option, it looks better as you said but Netflix does work anymore (sound, subtitles ok but no display)...
So I'm waiting for a fix from HTC

Hello, does anyone have fingerprint issues? My XZ1 never missed a beat. This one hardly works. Wondering if it's software or hardware problem?

Thanks for the link I think it's solved now. Still not as good as the XZ1 scanner but I found that my thumb was slightly angled under normal circumstances so I added more prints and so far so good

As far as I can tell you have two unlock states. You can't use the power button to wake and then use the fingerprint sensor to unlock you can only use the fingerprint sensor to wake and unlock.
If you use the power button to wake then you have to use the pin method to unlock. This is what I've found.
I've found it's usually if the sensor gets dirty, which seems to be quite a lot. a quick clean usually gets it working straight away

I put my finger along the side of the phone while making my scans, for me it works almost every time now.
Previously I had my finger on a line away from the side using my thumb nail to nail direction now I use from top to middle which gives a better result

It's funny because mine is very good (9210 model) and I came from OnePlus 7t pro where I hated the in screen finger print reader
Must have been firmware dependent as mine is almost perfect now since upgrade to android 10. Anyone else have problems?

Clear your hand and the sensors place on the phone. I have no problems with it.
The latest android 11 update appears to turn fingerprint registration and usage into a better experience....
I've had problems with previous updates either lost functionality all together or sporadic usage.
Its nore more accurate than I ever remember.
Having lived with this for almost 2 years it looks like a combo of hardware and software. IE the software driver doesn't work fast enough to recognise the fingerprint and will occasionally miss a beat. I re-program after updating firmware updates and depending on how big the update is/ Security based and find I have to wipe fingerprints and PIN/Password too, for the fingerprint sensor to be re-discovered and then use the pre-setup program app which I have to use slowly 2 seconds between detections otherwise the app fails to detect the sensor and stops working again so I have to reboot the phone to re-detect and start programming the next fingerprint.
This handset has a bad fingerprint driver/app for the latest Android me thinks.
Is anyone else having this problem? I have checked to make sure everything is turned on and it looks fine but I am not getting anything when i get a notification.

I came here looking for the exact same thing. It's been driving me crazy since I got the phone yesterday. It seems to be very random too, like sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. I've also noticed that heads up notifications aren't working. For example, when I get a Facebook message, it used to activate the edge lighting as well as give me a heads up containing a snippet of the message on my S10+, and now all I get is a quick vibration. It's so irritating and tbh, I'm glad it's not just me! Looks to be a bug. ??*
Not sure if you use it or not, but I've always used "Edge lighting fix for all apps" from the play store and also "Edge lighting+" from the Good Lock app. Those two apps have been the perfect combination for my phone until I got the N20U.
Does your edge lighting work with the screen off? Mine seems to, but again it's random. :/
Hi I am using a 3rd-party app aodNotify it works well on note 20 ultra & 10 plus.

This works GREAT! and lots of customizations.
Try Edge Lighting Plus in the Samsung Good Lock suite. Assuming they have updated Good Lock for the Note 20 ?
Good Lock is a must for any Galaxy phone regardless, lots of stuff to customise your phone!

I don't think it's a setting. My wife also got the N20U and hers has the same problem. I'm thinking it's a bug in the FW.

On a different topic, do you have Facebook installed on your phone? If so, are you getting notifications from it? I've noticed I'm not getting any until I open the app up and then they show up. I disabled battery optimization and made sure it's not being put to sleep, but it's still not working. I also uninstalled/reinstalled and no change.
Very strange behavior.
Works fine for me. One thing to note that by default only 1 application is set to use this (Messages if I remember rightly). Search for 'Edge Lighting' in settings and then select 'Choose Apps' and then toggle which apps you'd like to see this for.

Definitely something to check, I did but still didn't work for me. I noticed your UK flag, you have the exynos version? I ask as maybe it has something to do with the Exynos vs. Snapdragon processor?

I think I may have figured it out! I moved my SD card over to the new phone from my old one and in it is an Android folder that was causing something to conflict.
As soon as I moved my stuff over to internal storage (minus the Android directory) and then formatted the SD card, I received a crap load of "pending" notifications (including Facebook lol) and my edge lighting seems to be working again! I then moved everything back to the SD card and rebooted and so far, so good! I'll keep an eye on it to be sure. But if you moved your SD card from your old phone, give this a try and let me know if it fixes your issue too!

Can you check 'Accessibility' --> 'Visibility enhancement' and then check if 'remove animation' is turned on or off. I had turned it off and the edge lighting stopped working for me. Instead i toggled 'remove animation' off and in 'Advanced setting' selected 'reduce animation. Not sure if you had looked at these already..

Probably a apk conflict or settings issue but I never found it... meh.

Lol, that's reassuring. A long history of fail.
I just looked over my settings and it should be active.
Damned if I see it anymore (it works for a couple days once, long, long ago).
I reset it to factory load, the only possible option left; no power management is active.
I'll double check my blocked apks just for amusement.
