Opening Verizon V10 Hidden Menu - LG V10 General

Finally figured this out and haven't seen anyone post this exact method so I wanted to share it for anyone trying to figure it out too.
Sorry if it was posted before but I couldn't find it.
I'm not sure how useful it is or what can be done with it yet but here you go. There is another menu I'm still trying to open but haven't worked it out yet.
Open Dialer.
Enter ##7764726990 then press call.
Service code box will pop up.
Enter 000000
Now the Verizon hidden menu will pop up.
I haven't played around with anything so be careful with what you do. I'm pretty sure it will only work with Verizon. I hope it'll help someone. Good luck.

thanks
thank you it helps me:laugh::laugh:

2 great programs I downloaded for the Sprint Touch Pro2

Hi guys!
Was poking around online, and found this page: http://www.phonedog.com/cell-phone-research/blog/part-1-guide-to-windows-mobile.aspx . It lists a few great programs (many of which have been developed by you folx here at xda). There are two phenomenal ones that work quite well on my TP2.
The first is the SD card tuneup. I don't know why, but it seems to make my WHOLE PHONE go faster. I love it.
The second is the advanced configuration utility. A great way to access tons of settings to better tweak your phone.
Hope it helps you guys as much as it does me.
Warning for verizon users
Be very careful here and learn from my mistake. I did the reg edit from the linked page for increasing the threaded sms space. I copied the file over to my PC, made the edit, pasted back and reset. When I went into text messages and clicked "all messages" it wouldn't open. I hit reply and it wouldn't open. They only way I could send a text was either from favorites or contacts. I still had the original file so I pasted it back reset but but still f'ed up. I finally had to hard reset to fix it.
Another Warning
I would recommend not using the Advanced Configuration program on CDMA phones. Apparently some settings are just different enough to cause weird problems, one of which is being unable to answer an incoming call. (had that happen on my mogul), still see threads warning about using it on CDMA TP2, so be ready to hard reset if you do decide to try it out.
Advanced Config Tool on Sprint TP2
Thank you last poster on the issue with CDMA and Advanced Configuration Utility. I've been beating my head against the wall trying to figure out why I'm having so much trouble answering the phone. Sometimes I can answer, sometimes not. I've also noticed a few other strange behaviors like not getting the pop up "snooze" message I used to get when using the phones built in alarm.
Looks like my only way of not only removing the ACU but also fixing these problems is a hard reset? That seriously sucks, but at least I have a potential for getting these functions working again.

Here's a link to a way to fix things without a hard reset. At least it will fix the phone
answering problem. Be sure to stop using Adv Conf too!

How Do I Change MMS Settings In Windows Phone 7.5 Mango?

I've bought a Samsung Focus S and unlocked it as well as updated the APN info. However, I can't find out how to update the MMS settings. Is there a way to do this or am I SOL?
(I've read you can edit the settings in the XML files, but I'd prefer to avoid that if possible as I'm not sure what the correct instructions are to do that. If someone has them please post them!)
Surely someone knows how to do this? Why would MS make this setting so hard to change?
I just tried this:
xxx.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-enable-mms-on-samsung-focus-samsung-omnia-7-guide/
but unfortunately it doesn't work. ##634## will get you into the Diagnosis (ver.0923) menu, however once I type 40*047#3 nothing happens. Next to the numbers entered there's a circle with a horizontal line in the middle, however when I hit that it just erases the last number I entered. There's no other buttons to hit so I'm guessing something should happen automatically.
Bueller?!?!?!
Following my directions in thread 20634899 post #43. Make sure to read the whole thread as well as it gives some insight on the files you can use.

What kind of phone do you have? If it's a Samsung like the OP, it's a piece of cake. Read my guide for the Focus here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1614107&referrerid=2943819 it has been reported to work on the Focus S as well. I can confirm the Focus and the Omnia7, both of which I owned. If you have a Dell Venue Pro, it's even easier. Go to EM (##634#) and do your thing under "MMS Settings".

{Help}MSL Codes for Virgin Mobile Optimus Slider

Hello i just recently got a new Optimus V Slider from Virgin. I have tried everything i know possible to get the MSL code out of this thing to no avail. I have tried the method that is used with the Reg Optimus V using CDMA Workshop and no matter what driver is used the workshop will not connect ot the com. I have also tried using getprop ril.MSL, all i get from that is a blank line.
Can someone please Help me get my MSL code.
Still trying to solve this issue
Just call tech support. Tell them you are a developer and need the code. If it doesn't work call back and get someone else.
This method works for the Motorola Triumph on VM, might be worth a try here.
1) Download aLogcat from the Market.
2) Press Menu and choose "Filter." Type in "SEC_CODE" without the quote marks.
3) Press Home. Go to your dialer and enter ##33284#.
4) You'll be prompted for your MSL. Enter 000000.
5) Now go back to aLogcat and the six-digit number showing after SEC_CODE: is your MSL.

download alogcat 2.3 from market and follow those directions but instead of putting a filter just scroll up and you should see D/SpecialCharSequenceMgr( 304): MSL=000000

Hi, I'm trying this now, but it's hard to find it in all of this information logcat is outputting. is there a filter that i could set?
-edit-
just looked through the whole thing again after a reeboot(the log was shorter) and there's no instance of " D/SpecialCharSequenceMgr"

Just typing in MSL in the filter doesn't do squat. Ive tried it on my fiance's phone for the last two days and have got nothing.
Methods I've tried:
1. MSL Reader.apk- This was no-fu-go
2. Logcat.apk - Still havent seen anything pertinent on this app
3. Alogcat.apk - Havent seen any msl numbers or spc numbers.
4. Tried the usual 000000 when entering the MSL. - No-Fu-Go.
Tomorrow I am going to barage Virgin Mobile with phone calls and try to get the MSL for the phone and see how things go. I'm very doubtful they will give it up easily but I'll give it a try and let you all know how it goes. If anybody has any advice let me know please. I would greatly appreciate it and wouldnt mind donating beer money etc for a method that works. Lol. Any help greatly appreciated with this dumb smart phone lol.
[EDIT] I called Virgin Mobile and talked with Supervisors and their supervisors. They WILL NOT give out MSL codes for phones. You may have to contact the manufacturer of the phone in order to get the MSL for the phone. That's what they suggested to me. LOL! Virgin Mobile sucks ass!
For what it is worth, you can get the MSL pretty easily, but it requires using a tool to read the phone while in diagnostic mode like CDMA Workshop

[Q] Can't Unlock LG-p500

Hello everyone,
I come to you with a very strange case, which I have yet to find elsewhere on the web. I hope one of you guys can help me with this...
I'm trying to unlock my LG-p500 phone, I paid for an unlocking code and was ready to follow the instructions to unlock it. I was expecting for a window to pop after typing the first code (2945#*500#), but nothing happened, I tried to enter a different sim card from a different provider and it didn't displayed "phone restricted" as it was supposed to (according to instructions and different forums), but it simply displayed "No service" and "Emergency calls only". I also tried to type 2945#*71001# to get the menu but again... the phone didn't responded to any of these codes (I'm now observing that actually the phone does not respond to many of the secret codes of LG-p500 and Android as well, but it does responds to a number of them, such as *#*#4636#*#*)
Ever since then I've tried SO many things to work it out. I rebooted, unrooted, rooted again, formatted, recovered, installed custom roms, reverted to the original rom, software updated, I almost bricked my phone while trying to get this done but nothing seemed to work. I figured to try to get that menu in a friend's LG-p500 phone, unmodded in any possible way, and surprisingly the window to input the code still did not appeared and it didn't responded to any of the codes above.
It made me wonder of whether the provider had blocked the option of entering the codes, as me and her are with the same phone from the same provider, getting similar results.
I searched for hours for a solution to the problem but with no luck. I would really appreciate getting some help with this, as i'm totally clueless of what to do next. I will be very grateful for any response.
Much thanks!

The device's hidden menu is only accessible thru stock ROMs and the stock dialer.

I figured that, that's why I've also tried to access that menu via an unmodified LG p500 phone, which probably still runs the stock rom but I couldn't access that menu through that phone as well.
I'm starting to conclude that my phone was already unlocked from the provider itself, and perhaps that is the reason why I cannot access that menu again.
Is there a way of assuring that my phone is unlocked? I figured that I can use other sim cards from other Israeli providers, I thought there were two types of locks (that's what they told me in customer service), so if I can use sim cards from other local providers, does it mean that I can also use the phone for sim cards from international providers as well?
Thanks!

FIX!! No APN specified on device (MMS not sending/receiving)

Hey guys,
So I know I'm not alone on this issue, I've come across countless topics and I couldn't find a solid solution ANYWHERE and I tried EVERYTHING. I finally stumbled upon a solution that worked for me and it DIDN'T involve a clean wipe of my ROM.
(oh and a little background, I'm running a Droid 4 on Verizon with stargo's port of CM11 KitKat)
The topic is on the cyanogenmod website (can't post the link because of stupid forum rules), and I found the solution in the comments. Here is the comment by Matt Mower:
"Michael Gernoth, after changing apns-conf.xml, you might need to force a reload of apns-conf.xml. One way to achieve this is:
1) Enable airplane mode
2) Restart phone
3) Settings > Mobile networks should now show "Access point names" as a menu you can enter
4) In Access point names menu, choose "Reset to default" from the drop menu
5) Disable airplane mode"
So I did that, and wallah, I was able to send and receive MMS again and the error is gone!! I've seen soo many other people on here who have the same issue and have tried to reset to default and they mention that it wouldn't save, and I think the reason is it just needed that said manual reload of apns-config.xml.
Please note that I take NO CREDIT FOR THIS FIX, I just happened to find the post that contained the info that I believe many others have missed. Please share this info with anyone else having this issue as it could save them a ton of frustration as well.
Thanks for reading!
I personally tried several solutions including replacing the apns-conf.xml file, manually entering all the APN info and others without any real permanent success.
There is a ridiculously simple fix to cure this issue once and for all.
Make sure your Droid 4 is rooted and open the Play Store. Install Root Tweaker by broodplank. Open the app and check the box next to Cyanogenmod APNS List. Click "Tweak now!" You'll get a message advising it has been applied. Close the app, reboot your device and you should be good to go.
Ahem!

I followed these instructions, and literally one second after turning airplane mode back off I got a "No APN specified on device message." So, at least on the OnePlus One this fix does not work. However, it is apparently possible to reset the APN to default without going into airplane mode or rebooting, although I don't know if that reloads the apns-config.xml file. Anyway, I just changed to a different APN, and so far that seems to have fixed the problem.
By the way, for all you language mavens, "wallah" is a horrible corruption of "voila," which is properly pronounced much the same way but adding the "v" sound at the start, phonetically sort of "vwallah". Cheers!
so helpfull, thank you
Simply, set your APN settings as default from drop menu, shutdown your cell, Remove sim and now insert your sim turn on cell, your issue is fixed..........
Big hug jdinardo22- the issue was fixed by enabling airplan , reboot, disabling it
and my phone is 1+1
it took me much pain and time , till getting to this simple advice that made an end to the creeping situation.
the only benefit of this terrible journey, is that i got read of a lot of nonsense and suspicious apps.
tanks again to jdinardo!!!
