No root method for 6.0 / D850301? - AT&T LG G3

So with this Marshmallow update are we left with no options for root or recovery? Or can I just use all the previous software designed for D850?

King root will give you Temp Root, as far as I know there isn't a permanent root yet. you'll have to re root every time you reboot

I turn my phone off at night so this is no good for me lol Guess I'll play the waiting game. I appreciate the info though.

Install Fulmics 5.3. It's marshmallow, its stable and best of all, no AT&T bloat. You'll have to unlock the phone again, which means going back to the original G3 firmware.

Verizon HTC One (M8) Lollipop root

Hey everyone ... I got the OTA update for my HTC One (M8) on verizon a few weeks ago and now I've gotten bored with it and wanna play around with some new roms. I've been trying to unlock the bootloader and root and every single solution requires it to be on android 4.4.4 or less. I can't figure this out and was wondering if anyone could help me out or let me know if there was a way to still do this. Thanks

You are stuck. No root/unlock for Verizon on the 5.0.1 update and no way to downgrade.
As of yet, at least.
I'm in the same boat. I really wish I would have unlocked when I had 4.4.x running. Now I'm stuck with 5.0.1 and stock bloatware until SunShine updates. argh.....

Until SunShine updates, you may disable most bloatware in the app manager.
When I run Sunshine it says I already have S-Off from previous root, what do I need to do if anything?
When I run supersu it says no su binary installed and that if I just upgraded to android 5.0 I need to manually reroot. and when I try to run twrp manager, it says root is required.

you probably just need to flash twrp via fastboot and then root.

Flash TWRP 2.8.6.0 via fastboot. Then you can install super-su or a custom ROM.

Whenever they find an exploit.
I'm just guessing here but I think they might be working hard on getting the M9 (verizon ) S-off and unlocked before doing anything with the M8 Lollipop .......just MHO
Started OTA and Stopped 1/2 Way
***UPDATE***
I answered my own question. I was just able to run Sunshine and it tested my phone. My gosh how relevied I was to see that it passed. Talk about dodging a bullet!
_______________________________
I, like the posts above, got a refurb M8. I did one update, but held off on the other.
I checked and I'm still running 4.4.4.
Do I have a chance of rooting/s-offing/unlocking?
Will sunshine work and what do I use to root? I used weaksauce before, but that isn't supposed to work now (from what I hear).
I'm glad I didn't to the last OTA update, but not sure where to start/turn now. Actually I only postponed it for 12 hours. It really wants me to update. {getting worried}
Thanks;
A (very very hopefull) Bug :fingers-crossed:
The hold up on both the m8 and m9 is a root exploit for android 5. The security in android 5 has taken a huge leap forward and closed all of the known root exploits. Until another is found, verizon devices are stuck unless you go the java card route. Just look browse the verizon note 4 forums, they don't have a root exploit either.

Better answer than the extremely rude one I received earlier. Even though I was in the wrong for asking for an ETA, there was a better way of telling me to not ask that.

Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for [Root/Guide] How-to Root (Simplified). Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
The only thing keeping me from getting this phone is lack of root and the locked bootloader. However, I might be able to survive without a custom ROM if I can at least have root.
Would I have to buy this phone ASAP in order to use this root exploit before Verizon/Samsung try to patch it? If they do patch it, would there be a way to downgrade to a vulnerable version of the OS so I could apply this root in case I don't get the phone before they patch it?

It was pretty easy on my Win8.1 laptop. Although, one command toward then didn't work for some reason. It just gave me a permission denied error. The process still worked and I'm on Supersu now without any problems.

EDIT: I seem to have it almost working, but when I try to push SU to my device it says my device is not authorized and to check the confirmation on my device. There is no confirmation on my device. Debugging is checked. A serial number (my device) appears in the cmd prompt when I run "adb devices". What am I missing?
EDIT2: I just unchecked/rechecked usb debugging and I got the prompt to authorize. Everything is working now

I've had my S6 since close to noon today. Nice device.
Now the confusion..
I have been waiting for an OTA to get to OC3 but now I'm not sure I don't already have a newer build than that??
Under build number I've got: LRX22G.G920VVRU1AOE2
I am guessing this is newer than LRX22G.G920VVRU1AOC3 which is in a lot of recent posts.
Edit
well yes I have the newest already. Just used PingPong root to root it. Had to do it a couple times before it took but works great.

Sure, when the process is complete you will have root and when you reboot the phone it will say custom on the slash screen.
Other than that it is still a little fuzzy.
OF1 has the patched kernel and cannot be rooted nor can it be downgraded back to AOE2 or AOC3

Root D850 Marshmallow?

Hai I flashed Turbo ROM and for some reason I don't have root... I have SuperSU but it says there's no su binary installed... Also I can't get into TWRP, because it hangs on the TWRP logo screen and doesn't get passed that. How can I root my device so I can fix my recovery, or the other way around? Thanks
go to play store and download supersu app. restart the phone. this will get you root. then install twrp app from google and reinstall it through app. i think this will help you get into recoery.

I already tried that :c. I ended up using the TOT method to restore 10D and worked my way through rooting it and putting a recovery on it. c: Now that the D850 has an official 6.0 update, I expect we'll see Marshmellow roots for our device c:

KingRoot gives you temporary root on stock D850 Marshmallow.
When you reboot/restart, you lose root and it takes about 3 minutes or so, using the KingRoot android app, to regain root.
The apps requiring root that I've tried have all worked without issue.
Whether you want KingRoot installed on your phone is another issue.
I haven't come across a better solution for getting root on stock D850 Marshmallow yet.

I just used the latest android app from: https://kingroot.net
http://king.myapp.com/myapp/kdown/i..._B263_office_release_2016_05_09_105203(1).apk
From the about section of the KingRoot app on my LGG3:
"KingRoot V4.9.2 143
Kernel Version v4.8.0 67 / Su version v3.61"
If KingRoot does work you could look at this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=darkslide.com.supersumepro app to remove KingRoot and install SuperSU. I have not used the app I just saw someone on Reddit report that it worked for them.

Pingpong root no longer working?

I recently had to odin back to stock OE2 on my device and am trying to re-acquire root access however Pingpong root keeps telling me my device is unsupported when I attempt to Download Data as per the instructions. I rooted originally with Pingpong many months ago when my device was brand new so dont understand why this is failing. I am rooted now via Kinguser but dont like it as I would prefer to have SuperSU installed so that I can use flashfire. Anyone have any ideas? Its almost like Pingpong is not downloading any updated data, I have verified that my build number is right so totally stumped. Anyone have any ideas on how to get Pingpong to work again or another means of getting SuperSU installed and the binary to update?
Additional note: I never took any OTA updates, was on OE2 ever since unboxing the phone nearly a year ago.
Attached is a screenshot of my build version.
Which version of ping pong root are you trying? Not sure if that matters though.
Tried both versions listed, beta5.1 and beta6. Both say device not yet supported. I am thinking that the pingpong app is just no longer downloading the data required.
i wonder if i make a flashfire back up of certain partitions, if you can flash my backup and get the result your wanting. Im thinking just system partition. Since its a verizon gs6, you think it would work? Obviously i wont do the efs partitions.

Nothing really I guess, other than having to re-run the root process every time I reboot my device. Not to mention I cant get Flashfire to run with it so that I can switch to one of the custom roms that are available. Really have major buyers remorse with this bloody phone.

Just do what everyone else does.. Download KingRoot app and keep checking back momentarily. No root = NO XPOSED
Download SunShine from theroot.ninja and check eligibility. If compatible, pay $25 - or not. Good luck to you
