Kk 4.4.4 security updates d2mtr Carbon Rom - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

How can we get security updates now that Carbon ROM is no longer supported on our s3's. Would I need to become a developer to do it myself? Or is 4.4.4 unsupported even on factory ROMs? Thanks

Mahdi Rom Request for Moto G

Can anyone here make a Mahdi Rom for Moto G?
with Mahdi, you wont need another custom rom or stock firmware ever again. it has the best features of custom roms
and stability of stock firmware. you wont need xposed/grabitybox.
Here is more info about the rom

Would be awesome if someone here would be make it for the Moto G
have you tried asking the developer of mahdi rom?
Its available only on Nexus devices afaik. Its really good i've heard.
No harm in requesting the dev. though.

he says he cant do it because he does not have the device nor does the team and that the device has no source tree (whatever that means)
I have heard its good.. One of the reason I'm saving for a N5 or N4

[Q] AOSP LOLLIPOP with OTA updates

Hello, is there any aosp L rom with ota updates?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
Err.. What's the real question here?
Google's stock ROM has ota updates. A plain vanilla aosp build doesn't.
Some custom ROMs did have ota updates system on KK, so if you don't see any available yet, it's normal, L's only been out for a short amount of time.
I think he is looking for a developer who releases updates to their aosp ROMs via ota.

nexus like rom??

just bought this phone i want to know if there i a lollipop rom that is nexus like. no bells and whistles just stock rooted lollipop i searche but there are so many roms and it's a bit over whelming lol
Any one? I only see ROMs with his or that added. I would like a naked stock nexus type ROM. Preferably 5.0.1
I don't think one exists yet. Why not just use one of the ROMs on offer, but don't use the extra features? There's honestly very little difference anyway.

"Stock" Cm11s (what the OPO is supposed to ship with) is pretty close to
nexus, with some cyanogen OPTIONS of course (theme engine and a few other). If want a rooted version of this stock ROM then try this:

That isn't lollipop.

Sorry, I missed that part about lollipop. Anyway, CM12 should be coming pretty soon...

Unofficial builds have been out for awhile now. They're pretty stable.
All currently available ROMS use the CM12 device tree, which is why they look so different from the Nexus ROMs.
Clean AOSP ROMs will be released eventually but it will certainly take a few more weeks/months...

Nexus 5x DU ROM v. Rooted Android N. Which is recommended?

I for about a week or two now have been thinking of switching my phone back to stock and update to N Preview 2, since I enrolled for updates for the dev previews. I'm currently running Dirty Unicorns 10.2, the newest stable update and can't decide if I want to try Android N or not. Any help is appreciated.

Stock Nexus 5 security updates are dead in a month, right?

Google says they provide security updates for "at least" three years after a device is released, which in the case of the Nexus 5, is October 2016, or about a month from now. I believe they dropped Nexus 4 support right at three years. I'm guessing with Nougat being out, that any updates for non-Nougat devices (Nexus 5) are dead. Anyone have any insight on this?
I'm trying to figure out when to go to a custom ROM or buy a new device, and I'm aggravated because there's zero reason for Google to drop security updates for this device.
I may be wrong, but I'm not under the impression that they'll stop security updates. There won't be nougat though.

Is there no way for [xda] devs to port security updates for the stock ROM for the N5?
They won't supply firmware updates anymore (bootloader, radio). But all the other security features and patches can be forked from the AOSP. As far as I know.

They do add the security patches to the custom ROMs.
I'm using Screw'd 7.1.1 on my nexus 5 and it has the Feb ,5th security patch

Custom nougat roms, sure.
I'm still waiting for nougat to mature, but would love security patches for the stock Marshmellow.
Surely I'm not the only one?
