Trying to get PadTv TDH601 to work with TF300T - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all,
I just recently bought a PadTv TDH601 mini USB dongle so that I can watch TV on my smartphone or tablet. It works like a charm on my phone! I bought a mini USB adapter for my TF300 tablet and it recognizes when I plug in the dongle and that's it! I start to search for channels just like I did on my smartphone and it finds nothing. I do not believe that the dongle is fully communicating with the tablet. ASUS customer support is of no help at all with this issue. Has anyone here tried and succeeded to get the PadTv dongle to work with the tablet?

First of all, I have never tried that stick. USB access is possible only over the dock. That means the tablet has to be docked on. This way I did try to get running a data stick from my telephone provider without any result. The stick wasn't able to communicate fully with the tablet. What do you think about downloading of one of the many "Life TV Apps" the Play Store offers?

Thanks, but those apps do not give me what the PadTv dongle does. PadTv gives me live local channels, the apps you are talking about give me channels from other countries which I am not interested in watching.

Tablet with ethernet?

I'm hoping for a tablet that I can both use wifi, but also plug into an ethernet cable every so often. I've seen some cheap tables from china with a rj45 plug, but I can't tell if they have drivers (and I haven't seen one with android 2.2+ which I also need for my project). I would also like the tablet to have been rooted. I'm hoping for a pre $300 range.
Also, are there any usb -> ethernet/rj45 adapters out there with android drivers?
Thanks!
Well out of the box the viewsonic Gtab doesnt have ethernet but you can get a dock for it that has it. Good luck
For some reason, I find it strange that someone would want a tablet with ethernet. I'm not sure why, but it's just an odd request to me.
Nothing to really add otherwise, but good luck in your search.
its supported by tegra chipset , a number of docks should have it ...
that said u might be better off with some plug n play mini AP that u can carry around if ya kno ur gonna need it
Here is pad with ethernet and Android 2.2.

The site is run by a member of the slatedroid forums, there is a small business section there for his shop. Alot of members of that site have bought from there.

Sometimes wireless just isn't reliable or fast enough, having an RJ45 connection there, even if it's an adapter, would be nice!
We got a 10 inch Android Zenthink ePad to play with. It has an ethernet adapter, which works well.
The device itself is not very high quality, but it is fantastic value for money.
There are lots of reports of the adaptor socket coming adrift from the main board, so if you get one, be gentle with it.
It's 2011! Get with the time, pops!

Try managing a cisco router/switch without ethernet. I want a tablet with ethernet for that very reason. I'd replace my netbook with a tablet if I could do that.
Also last time I was in germany the hotel used a T-mo access point to provide internet so that requires a login. I used my netbook to login, shared the connection to ethernet, crossover to a cheap wifi AP and bam! internet for my main laptop, girl's laptop, wii, etc...
I wonder if a USB ethernet adaptor could work on Android?

Not everyone has wireless. Most of my clients do not have wireless because of security reasons but I still need to access their network and ethernet is usually the only choice.

[Q] Connecting a keyboard and 3g stick to a hannspree sn10t1 tablet

I have a hannspree sn10t1 tablet.
The tablet does not have a usb port but does have a miniUSB port.
So i wanted to connect a keyboard to it ( i got a tablet case with a keyboard in it) and got a usb adapter as well.
But it seems its not working.
At fist i thought that the adapter was defective, but i got a second one and it still does not work.
What can i do?
I tried connecting different stuff on the sub adapter and it does not show anywhere anything pointing out that there is something on usb connected.
I want to use a 3g stick as well.
What is wrong ?
Is it the software or the hardware?
Same problem
Hi,
I have the same problem.
Did you manage to get this sorted?
Thanks
James

TF700T HDMI out on Samsung UE46ES8005

Hi.
I thought on sharing my findings on how i solved getting my infinity to work with my led-tv.
I have tried all kind of stuff before this but i have a stubborn samsung that doesn't want to recognize the tab.
I got some tips from within xda that infinity lacks the 5v for hdmi out so the tv can sence that something is hocked up.
i bought a Andersson HDMI Switch 4x1 that has a poweradaptor to try this out.
It wasn't an easy go by just hooking things up.
so i tried hocking my laptop up to the switch and got the picture on the tv, then i connected the tab on the second hdmi port and the infinity recognized that the hdmi was attached, i tried to switch ports with the remote to the hdmi switch but that failed, so i disconnected the cable to the laptop and VOILA i got the tv to show the tablets screen on the TV screen, i can now scale the picture and everything works great.
If i leave the switch powered on and connected to the tv i can connect and disconnect the tab without problems.
If i power of the switch i have to go through the same procedure again to fool the tv to recognize that samething is hooked up to the hdmi port.
Hope this helps some of you with the same problem and stubborn tv sets.
Best regards
Mackis

Weird. I have a powered monoprice HDMI switch connected to a Denon Receiver, which connects to my Sony TV. I've had no problems with the TF700 Infinity being recognized. I also took the Infinity on a cruise and connected it to a Samsung 720p LCD TV with no problems. I believe that this would discount the theory that the Infinity doesn't have the right HDMI signal/voltage.
I assume that you tried changing HDMI cables? Perhaps the TF700 that you have has a defective HDMI port.

________
That was my first guess but after i read here on xda that even the cables can be defective i bought one more, then i tried different manifactures LG and philips lcd-tv worked with the infinity without problems, so i guess i have a tv that is too new. I contacted Samsung and they are looking in to it. Not that i have high hopes, for now im a happy camper solving it this way.

It's weird that the TV would recognize other HDMI devices but not the Infinity. At least you have it working.

Yes i know, i think its weird to, but i think its the 5v issue that my samsung model don't sence.
On the LG i have to change hdmi port with the remotecontrol to the tv for it to work or power it down and up again otherwise its not working. On the samsung lcd on my work i have no problems at all but it is older tv models. If i could get hold of some other tv model that anyone here have problems hooking up the infinity with i would be happy to try this solution and see if it works.

[Q] Smart Phone as Android TV Dongle

I have a Samsung Infuse, screen broke, don't want to thorw a way, is there a way that I can turn into something a TV Dongle. I would like to use the benifits of its wifi as well. Is it possible or a ROM available that would allow me to connect via my USB port on my TV?
if the phone has usb otg get a hdmi adapter for it then you could plug it in the tv.
Click thanks if helped
what I want is to give it the capabilties of a TV Dongle. The touch pad is broke non responsive. It just seems like a waste of hardware. The TV dongles are basically a Smart Phone (omit the phone). Is there anyway to make this work. A custome ROM maybe that kills the phone but makes use of all else?

[Q] Using USB connection to console into devices on iRulu 10.1 tablet

I need help... I am new to Android tablets and operating systems so I apologize if I don't give enough information right from the start and if I am asking too simple of a question. I recently purchased an iRulu 10.1" tablet. I am very happy with it since it does what I purchased it for with one exception... I wanted to use one of the USB ports to connect my USB to 9 pin serial adapter so that I can console into different devices we use at my work. Both ports work since I am able to plug in a mouse or keyboard and both function, but the USB dongle I use on my laptop will not even be recognized on the tablet... Someone please tell me what I am missing. Is it a driver? New USB adapter? Some app? I've tried a few solutions and they have not yielded any positive results. I have installed a couple of apps and they don't even recognize the adapter as being connected. Thank you for any and all assistance!!
Noe
I wouldn't expect a usb dongle to work because I don't believe any of the Irulu devices have bluetooth capability from what I understand. I don't know for sure though since I am new to this device. I just got one (Model#: AN101 AllWinner A10 CPU) myself on Thursday and doing the research trying to flash JellyBean onto it for now.
Mine came with it's own USB keyboard/stand combo so I don't expect to need a BT keyboard but they are so nice you never can tell what I may want once I get JB on here.
I just figured I'd post to keep this thread alive for ya and input. Good luck
