[Q] Using USB connection to console into devices on iRulu 10.1 tablet - General Questions and Answers

I need help... I am new to Android tablets and operating systems so I apologize if I don't give enough information right from the start and if I am asking too simple of a question. I recently purchased an iRulu 10.1" tablet. I am very happy with it since it does what I purchased it for with one exception... I wanted to use one of the USB ports to connect my USB to 9 pin serial adapter so that I can console into different devices we use at my work. Both ports work since I am able to plug in a mouse or keyboard and both function, but the USB dongle I use on my laptop will not even be recognized on the tablet... Someone please tell me what I am missing. Is it a driver? New USB adapter? Some app? I've tried a few solutions and they have not yielded any positive results. I have installed a couple of apps and they don't even recognize the adapter as being connected. Thank you for any and all assistance!!
Noe

I wouldn't expect a usb dongle to work because I don't believe any of the Irulu devices have bluetooth capability from what I understand. I don't know for sure though since I am new to this device. I just got one (Model#: AN101 AllWinner A10 CPU) myself on Thursday and doing the research trying to flash JellyBean onto it for now.
Mine came with it's own USB keyboard/stand combo so I don't expect to need a BT keyboard but they are so nice you never can tell what I may want once I get JB on here.
I just figured I'd post to keep this thread alive for ya and input. Good luck

[Q] Connecting a keyboard and 3g stick to a hannspree sn10t1 tablet

I have a hannspree sn10t1 tablet.
The tablet does not have a usb port but does have a miniUSB port.
So i wanted to connect a keyboard to it ( i got a tablet case with a keyboard in it) and got a usb adapter as well.
But it seems its not working.
At fist i thought that the adapter was defective, but i got a second one and it still does not work.
What can i do?
I tried connecting different stuff on the sub adapter and it does not show anywhere anything pointing out that there is something on usb connected.
I want to use a 3g stick as well.
What is wrong ?
Is it the software or the hardware?
Same problem
Hi,
I have the same problem.
Did you manage to get this sorted?
Thanks
James

[Q] USB to Ethernet

I need to get a USB to Ethernet adapter working with my HTC One S (T Mobile) and I am really struggling to figure out how to make this work.
I have the Apple USB-Ethernet Adapter, model number MB442.
That does not work inherently with the phone. It does work on my Asus Transformer, but not with the phone. I believe that the chipset in this adapter is the USB AX8817X.
So my question is, do any USB to Ethernet adapters work with the phones out of the box? And if so, which ones?
I'm relatively new to Linux/Android development so I don't know how to figure out if this chipset will work or how to compile and install drivers for it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

[Q] Lenovo A2107 A-H Issue

Dear All,
I have a Lenovo A2107 A-H tablet purchased from UK market. Unfortunately, I have been using it in India for the past few months and it appears that the USB is non functional at the moment. Ironically, it gets charged up while connected to the PC but the device doesn't get recognized in the device manager. I have even downloaded the source code from the Lenovo web site. However, being a novice, I am not able to use it to figure out whats wrong with my tablet. Some of the common boot-up methods have been tested but all in vain. I kindly request some one to help me out. I have Eclipse IDE and can do code testing of the source if someone can guide me. Also, I would like to know how can I transfer my data between the device and my PC while the USB is non-functional? Also, I am aware of the general Wi-Fi connectivity to transfer file but I am interested in fixing up my USB connector so that it's more viable. Please suggest some help.
Appreciate your inputs!
Uncommon, but you might have to replace the usb port of your tablet. But, before that, have you tried using other cables? There are some cables intended only for charging (even if they have USB ports)

Can I use a generic micro USB keyboard with the kindle fire tablet 5th gen (2015)?

I found a keyboard on eBay that connects via micro USB, and it is meant to be used with a generic 7inches tablet. Before buying it I would like to be sure that the fire tablet has no limitations on the micro USB port, can anyone help me? I couldn't find a sure answer on google
this tablet supports USB OTG which means you CAN connect a pen drive, mouse, keyboard.. and I am almost 100% sure you can connect this keyboard BUT you may have problems with recognizing all keys on the keyboard or problems with different typing languages.. I guess you need to try it to know for sure.. and please let us know if you do..

Two success stories:
- Connected an inexpensive wired USB keyboard via cheap OTG adapter (here). Keyboard instantly/silently recognized. No soft keyboard on input fields. Disconnect the physical keyboard and soft keyboard immediately pops up. Elegant and effortless.
- Grabbed a wireless Logitech K360 attaching receiver to same OTG adapter. Worked perfectly! Instant wireless keyboard. No messing around with Bluetooth. Woohoo!!
I realize this is old news to anyone with a 'normal' tablet that natively supports OTG. First time I got it to work with a Fire (my daily driver is a HDX with lacks hardware support for OTG).
I've been using a Samsung BKB-10 bluetooth keyboard, which I grabbed for $10 on at&t's website a few weeks ago, and it works great!! Every button works.
I am running CM 12.1, so I can't vouch for the stock firmware, but it does work excellent on the CM rom posted here!!
Yes, I use a USB Hub and various devices at the same time on my Fire 7. All of them work - at the same time.
You can hook up a Keyboard and a mouse and a usb stick and a printer, that all of them will work just fine.
USB-OTG is beautiful.
Can you give more detail on the usb hub? I guess you need it to provide power and data pass through, but I can only find one or the other online

Can not power (charge) and use OTG devices simultaneously. It's one or the other.

Wired Ethernet

Has anyone had success getting a wired Ethernet adapter working on the Note 4? I have some network testing I need to do and I need a hard-line to do it. A few articles point to this adapter by Plugable. I have already tried a trendnet USB3 NIC through an OTG adapter. The switch link-lights come on for a moment the go out quickly.

It's not a Samsung or Note 4 thing, it's an Android thing. Please do some research and use the search feature, as it'll save yourself time and more importantly our time as well.
Get an OTG adapter, then search Google for the apps and info.

Don't ask me for help beyond this, as you shouldn't need it. If you feel like you need help beyond searching, you probably shouldn't be attempting it. Good luck!
OTG is not a problem but Ethernet Usb doesn't seem just related to Android OS.
Many phones are compatible with chipset AX88772, unfortunately Samsung note 4 is not.
