Original LG G5 Bottom Module - LG G5 Accessories

Anyone know where to find one?
I just received my free charging kit in the mail and I was wondering if someone had a source to get the original bottom module for the G5. I want to have an arsenal of juice ready to swap with minimal effort and damage to the phones clip mechanism. Kind of like a gun magazine, which IMO seems like a pretty cool idea. I should have bought an extra battery when they were $15... but oh well. Two is enough.
I also dropped the damn thing today and it left a big mark on the bottom lip.

DIY-USB-Cradle made out of the box

Hi,
I was a bit bored this evening and I thought I could build myself a usb-cradle for my diamond. I just slammed it together because I just wanted to see if it could work.
What you need:
- the orginal plastic box your diamond came with
- good aiming skills, (i was too lazy to measure anything)
- about 60 - 90 minutes, depending how fast you work
- some tools i guess
- NO glue! Everything will fit so there is no gluing needed (i hate gluing)
What i did:
- cut out the shell the diamond was lying in, cut the top bit off and cut out a gap for the usb cable to fit through. This will be called the "tray" where the phone will be sitting in
- cut a gap into the top of the box to slide the "tray" into it
- cut a small hole into the back edge of the box, for the usb cable to fit through, when the box is standing on the table
- please take a look at the pictures so you might get a better idea of it
Hope someone likes it
greetz, Greebear
PS: you can even hide the charger and usb cable under it
EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nG0EKw0r1Y
How about a pic of the finished cradle without the phone.

i actually use my diy cradle every day
but im upto making some improvements...
trimming it down and adding some rubber feet and weight...
Jeeze guys..appreciate initiative, but you can buy a cradle from HK on eBay with a UK AC adaptor for less than a tenner....
,,,nice to see the box recycled I suppose
aaah, i had the box lying around anyway, this way its more or less usefull again
i know the cradles costs nearly nothing, but it was just good fun to build
recycling foam. i am using this to keep my devices upright on my night table.
foam from a TV and knife. that's all. easy to add the usb plug for charging in diamond's "cradle".
Was also thinking of making something from hard foam, one for home and the other for office.
I have a bunch of scrap lexan and acrylic panel material 3-6mm thick at work. I guess I'll have to try my hand at making a cradle. It would be useful since I just throw my phone on my desk right now and I really don't want to get it all scraped up.
There is something nice about making stuff that you could buy...just because you can.
what could be even better is when you have acces to a mill... mill it out of a massive block of acrilic
I found a good usb-cradle too.
"Freedent box" + piece of rubber, it doesn't look nice, but it's very simple for office desk.
For home, I have the HTC Cradle !!!
I was thinking something like this since I'm creative and I don't want to pay that much for a htc cradle.
Get some plastic, design it, mold it. Make a box.
Get the Dongle that has a 3.5mm, 2.5mm, and a usb connector.
Anyone see where I'm going
That way, my cradle will be able to attach to my 5.1 system
I'll post pics if I ever get to it.
Something like this:
In situation:
It looks ridiculous... but, it's very reliable !!!

Who cares if manufactured cradles cost peanuts and your home made one has a face only a mother could love...the warm after-glow of having created something useful from nothing more than compensates.

[REVIEW] [PICS] Extended case for extended battery. [moretalktime @ ebay]

So I went and got myself one of the custom cases that's available for the extended battery (the ebay / Chinese battery, not the Seidio).
Here is a link to what I purchased.
Well this is my review, it sucks. Yep that's it.
To elaborate a bit on that...
First of all, I did not receive a battery door cover, just the case (even though the listing clearly states it should be included).
The material is stiff but not hard, I would not really consider it a hard case.
The two pieces (top and bottom) have too much material that is supposed to fit between the keyboard slider, making it difficult to use / close the keyboard slider.
This was noted by the seller and was expected.
Also it seems that the bottom portion simply does not fit the phone well. It does not stay where it is supposed to and sliding the keyboard makes it worse.
To top it all off, it makes the power / volume / camera buttons very easy to find, but almost impossible to press (the power button in particular).
I bought this for my girlfriend's Epic, she used it for one day and took it off.
I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.
I will be contacting the seller (moretalktime) to see what, if anything, can be done about this.
Definitely not worth the $15 I paid, in my opinion.
[edit]
I've noticed that the listing now states that it is only for the case, and does not include the door cover.
This was not the case when I purchased the item.
Here is a link to the listing before it was edited (not sure this link will work, as it's from my order history).

One main reason i didnt like this case was that it blocked the mic hole completely. Which was annoying also the speaker cutout was unnecessary since it was blocking the earpiece instead.

Ha, didn't even notice, but you are right, no hole near the volume keys for the speaker phone mic, and no hole at the bottom for the regular headset mic.
What did it for me was the fit, it's just plain bad IMO, if the sides would stay above the chrome as intended it wouldn't be so bad.
(Though trying to press the power key would eventually get to me enough that I would stop using it I think.)

I returned mine just in time, i recommend that you return it and wait for the updated version. So far what they told me that it will take two weeks for the updated version to be made and ready to ship. Hopefully it solves all the issues the first version had.
Any of you previous owners have any idea when the new version may be coming out?
I was about to buy this case tonight then saw this review. I was hoping it would be sturdy plastic like the case sprint sells, not something that seems to behave like silicone.
I got one of the new versions of the case cover. I installed it on my wife's phone and he sent me an old version along with it for free. I also got the Yoobao extended battery. I wish I would have taken pictures with them next to each other. The holes are bigger on everything, but it makes the slider almost useless. I also cna't get the bottom piece on all the way. Was going to use an apple safe pry tool to try and get it on. I didn't check for mic hole. Either way, its not very good. I was very disappointed in it, but my wife is deciding to keep it on.
Side note: the battery works really well. She can go almost a whole day without charging and her phone is stock and she uses her phone like a maniac!
Hmm, so even the new version messes with the slider? By useless do you mean it takes a lot of force to actuate the slider?
Guess I will stick with my stock battery

I haven't asked her lately about the slider. I'll ask her and see what she says, but she took off the bottom piece because it was just too much of a hassle. Its funny, I have a leather body glove case that was given to me free by the sprint store we bought our phones at. It works flawlessly.

iGadgitz Gym Armband

Hey whats up guys,
I just purchased this item from Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004XYQWXI)
I just got this in the mail today, have not gotten a chance to use it.
I will try to give it my best to review this product.
-Product feels pretty good, solid build quality, doesn't feel like cheap ****
-The phone fits perfectly well if you are NOT using a phone case. I tried to put the phone in with a TPU case, and it did not fit.
-Trying it on my arm, it feels pretty tight and snug. (Not sure if that's how armbands are supposed to feel. My arm feels constricting a bit, I don't think this is feasible if you are going to work out your arms?) ... But I will update this part after I have used it tonight working out my back and biceps.
-There's a cool section for your to put your headphone wire in so it doesnt hang all over the place.
Check out the pictures, I will try to update this more. If you have any questions I can try to answer them here.

Thanks for the review...I"m looking forward to your update. I'm very interested in knowing how this will work for you during arms workouts...and how it would appear to hold up to sweat.
On that note, what earpieces do you use that won't break down from sweat quickly?

Alright in response on how it felt when I was working out my arms. Either I am not an Armband type of guy (I usually wear a tank top or sleeve cut off shirt). I feel as if this thing gets in the way. Not sure if u guys know what I mean when you work out upper body and u like your arms to be free of anything.
The arm band felt like those things you put on your arm when yhou are testing your blood pressure at the doctor... very tight especially if you are working out your biceps.
I think this is good if you do cardio, or lower body exercises that do not require the use of the arms...
The material was okay in regards of sweat... I did not notice it leaking through and touching my phone at all. I personally thought it was going to be very itchy and annoying like how some kneebraces are now made with that neoprene type of material.
With the headphones, I have some type of rubbery material heaphones. There like 10 bucks or something I dont really care if they get messed up though.
Throughout the whole workout experience I can remember adjusting it almost after every set so it can get comfortable... Towards the end of my work out I just put it in my pants... LOL
So if you are not the arm band type of guy, do not get this. Only use it for cardio exercises or lower body so it wont bother you as msuch as it bothered me working out upper body.
Also the wire management part in the first Amazon provided picture, is VERY small you cant fit fat wires or many layers of wires if you guys understand what i mean...
With the front protector clear plastic thing, it wasn't too bad, basically it kind of felt like those ZAGG invisihields over your phone.
Gave it another go last night working out abs and legs, it didn't bother me as much compared doing upper body.

Bumper Case that is Mod Friendly?

I have searched high and low and I can't seem to find a Bumper style case that will let me use Mods. The clear one that comes with the Moto Z is perfect, but it's ugly. Am I missing something, am I the only one that desperately needs this?
Judging from what's available, and some reviews I've read, the popular perspective is that you either use Mods or use a case, but not both.
I have a tendency to put my phone down on it's screen, so I just need something that elevates it from the surface. I also have a tendency to drop my phone and the bumper cases I've had in the past have saved me from that pesky insurance deductible.
Will we ever see a Bumper case that protects the screen and edges while allowing us to swap out Mods? Is there already something available hiding in the dark corners of the interwebs?

As good as it gets. You put it on from the back. High edges around the screen. But also a edge around the back preventing fast and quick swap of mod without removing bumper too.

Do you own this? Is it difficult to press the volume and power buttons because they are covered by the bumper?
I'm going to miss being able to fast swap Mods but if this will fit with any Mod attached then this is definitely what I need.
Edit: The only review I've found states that the charging port does not line up correctly and it constantly slips off. Honestly it sounds like they bought it for the wrong phone but I'd love to hear if anyone has something good to say about this bumper...

I have this. The buttons on the bumper feel like metal to me and make excellent contact with the normal buttons. They are a little stiffer to push, but that makes accidental off button pushes less likely to happen.
The oem cord easily fits in the hole for the charger. I am not sure if this is the same case as the verizon one. The incipio case is very good, if not a bit expensive.
edit: It is also a very sniff case, does not shift or move at all.
You two convinced me, thank you!
No real problems with it. Haven't had it in a pocket pulling it up and down with any force though.
I had it in perfect fit around the charging port first time I mounted it. Then I wanted to check something and removed it and now it's slightly to the side. That seems to be a mounting issue rather than a bad fit.
Nice bumper but not perfect. Still... The best thing to use with mods so far.

The Verizon bumper works fine for me. Some type c cables are a bit wide and need to be seated properly, but otherwise exactly what you described that you needed. I swap between the Incipio wireless off grid and the JBL sound mod often and don't have to remove the bumper to do so.
I'm just using the included plastic bumper in the unlocked US version of the Z.
Glad to hear that there's a proper one from Incipio aside from the VZW bumper.
The included plastic one works great but is ugly IMO. I wish it were a flat black. I'm considering spraying it with Plasti Dip.

toastmade now selling wood backs for essential ph-1

https://www.toastmade.com/products/essential-phone.html
curious, has anyone tried one? I like the look of these, but with the phone being pretty heavy already I wonder how much more weight wood would add to it
Just ordered! Will let you know once it arrives
Someone on Reddit shared this last month. I later asked about the 360 camera with this and they were unaware of the accessory. They said they would try to make a version with a cutout. Not sure yet where they are with that. Just a heads up though.
That looks amazing.
I go to the gym quite often and go inside the sauna after. I wonder how this will hold up to that?
Got mine last week!!
I got mine last week. I wanted to have it on for a little while before posting a recommendation. First and foremost, I ordered a custom design version, with a logo remove option. Its drift wood with gold inlay. It has held up quite well. This is skin, not a case btw. No peeling off anywhere, and it's very thin considering it's a "faux" (I think it's faux) wood laminate. I have a magnet on the back of my phone under the skin, and it still holds my phone in a horizontal position on its cradle, although it has definitly lost some pull. Install was very easy and cutout alignment is top notch. But a word of warning: the adhesive on this is SUPER strong (which is a good thing); once it stick you have to heat it up loosen it. So take a deep breathe and align things correctly before letting the adhesive touch the phone.
I wanted to talk about Toast customer service as well. They're very friendly and patient. I had close to 20 emails sent back and forth between me and the design team until I was happy with the overall look. No attitude, no fuss. The design came out perfect with excellent detail. They even sent me extra "snake eyes" In case it falls off since it's so small, but it has held up well. I highly recommend this product as of now. I'll get back to you guys if it's starts to peel off or break, but judging by how it's held up until now, I have confidence in it. Only thing that bugs me a bit is that the skin can pick up color staining from clothing, but I've managed to clean it easily with isopropyl alcohol. I leave mine in the front pocket of my scrubs, and it has picked up the dark blue color a few times, especially when I was sweating. Again, it wipes clean, even after a day of setting in. It might not even be an issue with the darker color woods.
Overall extremely happy with the purchase. Highly recommended!!!
Thanks for the review! I've been debating pulling the plug on one due to the price but i think i am now.
