Hello everybody,
I know there are many threads with broken screens and so on, but I've been searching the internet the whole day & night and tried nearly every solution.
My Smartphone fell on the ground two days ago, I can see everything, but touch isn't working anymore.
Usually I'm rooting my phones but i didn't root my XZ5 so far (big mistake!), so I don't have a custom recovery.
I have USB Debugging activated, but I haven't connected my phone since it updated to the new firmware, so I'm getting RSA Fingerprint Message which I can't allow.
After my Z5 fell on the ground, the fingerprint didn't work so I had to restart my phone - now I'm forced to enter the key to unlock the system.
At first, I tried "Android Control" with adb, but when I connect my phone, adb says "unauthorized" - no remote control possible.
After that, I bought a OTG Cable and plugged in a mouse. This isn't working, because I have to search for a plugged-in USB device first in the settings (the phone doesn't recognize the USB device itself).
Fastboot & Flash Mode are still working.
Is there a possibility to skip RSA Fingerprint with USB debugging or deleting my lock screen? I thought of unlocking my bl and installing TWRP, but then the mobilephone would be wiped as far as I know.
Maybe someone of you knows a "temporary recovery" which can be booted from SD-Card or another way to get to my internal data..
It would be awesome, if someone could help me with this!
Many thanks in advance!
Only way i can think of are to downgrade to lollipop with flashtool without wipe.
Then the usb mouse should start to work directly if im not mistaken.
Atleast i think it was this they before mm upgrade.
Did you try to boot the phone with the mouse connected?

yes, unlocking would completely wipe your phone, including internal memory so it's not a solution.
Rsa key request means you cannot run any adb command right, included adb shell right?
Did you try to do an extensive google search with "broken screen rsa"?
Particularly, http://stackoverflow.com/questions/...b-rsa-key-with-broken-touch-screen-on-android
talks about rebooting in "recovery mode", so you could try to use adb commands in fastboot mode (or download mode)

So I recovered my password from the dust and figured this is my chance to help..
Better be working..
I dropped my z3c while I was holding my newborn baby, it contained all the pictures from birth, ****ing fool I am for not backing up..
Get that short '.. to usb' - thing from the box. Use that to connect your Bluetooth mouse and tada that should work. Use it to unlock your phone and do you what you want to do.
It worked for me, hope I can help you.

Hi guys!
I brooke the screen and touch of my razr hd, as well its power button.
I'm trying to acess its screen trough the pc using a tool from the forum. BUT I need to have the usb debbuging enabled, wich I don't have.
So, I need to enable it from de pc somehow.
The device is working properly, the pc recognizes it and allows me to deal with its files, the device is turned on and is rooted already.
Someone have any idea of how to enable the usb debugging with the touch and without entering in recovery or fastbootmode?
The only two things I know I can do with it for now is to reset or turn it off trough a command in cerberus.

There's a lot of info out there on this. Various way to recover. Maybe try this:

All the info in this 2 tutorials and in other I've found, in some how, ask me to use the buttons to acess fastboot mode or recovery mode, but as I said, they are broken.
I was hoping to find some comand lines via pc and with the device still on to put it to recovery or fastboot mode, cause then I can use adb or fastboot to enable usb debugging.... But, I still don't know how...
Solved,
if your story sounds similar to mine(Go to TL;DR) Refer to post 4
ok, where to begin
my N5 was A-OK just 3 days ago running the Dev Preview of Lollipop. by A-OK i mean that it worked but with a few
bugs
(its the dev preview i know, its got bugs) like when i stayed on an app, e.g spotify, and exited to the home screen it
would take like 15 sec for all the apps on the home screen (like 6) to appear. There is not where the problem lies.
Again 3 days ago. i poked around both ROM sections to find a Lollipop based on that was to my liking, found one and
directly downloaded it to my phone (in hindsite it would of been better to do it on my comp) and being no stranger
to flashing ROMs i went on auto-pilot adn begun the wiping of cache and factory resetting, setting up for the move to
more stable ROM. When it was time to flash the ROM I completely downloaded was no where to be found, a bit
panicked i went to a backup i had on the device, it did its thing and i booted it up but it went back to Clockworkmod
recovery screen That's problem No. 1 . I rebooted it still the same thing. Scouring through
the web for help on setting ADB to sideload the ROM. The thing is that when i hooked up my phone to my desktop
it didn't recognize the device, The correct drivers are installed but it doesn't recognize the device its labeled as
unknown USB device. That's problem No. 2
*update i plugged in my N5 and the comp read it as a N5 but when i selected the option to sideload it it doesn't
recognize it anymore
and problem No. 3 is USB debugging might be turned off
TL;DR? 1. Boots into Clockworkmod
2. my computers don't recognize the device
3. USB debugging might be off
-Q: Can USB Debugging be enabled some other way.
Any help is appreciated
why is it double spaced? i find it a bit eye-straining reading that much all bunched together
Setup fastboot on your computer. Once done open a command prompt and type fastboot devices. If it doesnt display a long line of numbers and letters the computer isnt recognizing the device. At this point try a different usb port, and try a different cord, until it recognizes. The fastboot flash the images for 5.0. 1. =profit.

ok, used a different cable and it now recognizes it.

tried ADB devices and numbers appeared and what state the device is in, recovery.
thank you thank you thank you sooo much
all is good
My Nexus 5 is alive,
i tried to upgrade to 5.0 directly and kept getting errors e.g archive does not have boot.sig/ system.sig. That lead me to look up Boot.sig/System.sig, that lead me to a blog saying i could fix the problem if i added something to the directory, forgot how to get to environmental variables, i went and watched the vid that helped my set up adb/sdk and thats when it clicked..
What if i tried flash-all with KitKat and voila it started running the process of flashing. Since it was basically a new phone unrooted and everything it had the system update to lollipop.
Hello all.
Unfortunately I dropped my phone last week which result in a broken screen (Glass got broken, as well as the lcd, black screen, touch works sometimes). Now I'm sitting here, trying to recover all my important data.
First guides you find on the internet are about some Backup Software for windows. Just connect your phone and youre ready to go.
(Almost, as you need to verify the connection or have to have adb/ usb debugging enabled, which I don't unfortunately.)
So those things about adb backup do not work aswell.
I do have a custom rom installed http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-flex2/general/update-to-marshmallow-t3399953.
Does this custom rom install a recovery? I tried booting into recovery like 100 times by pressing volume down as well as the power button. But without any optical feedback this is hard and I'm not 100% sure if it is even installed.
If not, wouldn't it be an option to install twrp or cwm? Is this possible without usb debugging enabled? I've managed to do this on samsung devices, even without adb through odin, while connecting the device in download mode. Is there something similar for LG?
I think if I get to manage to enable usb debugging it would work perfectly fine, I would be able to backup won't I?
Last thing I would try is buying an slim port to hdmi adapter, connect to pc and verify the connection to the backup software using an hdmi monitor. I think this would work, but maybe theres some way I overlooked which don't need me to buy this adapter.
Thanks for your Help,
Whitz
Unfortunately the Device won't show up when executing "adb devices".
Maybe because the device isnt unlocked at time of being?
The Device isnt recognized by the Computer either, so maybe the connection is unfortunately set on "Only Provide Power" or whatever this mode is called in english
Any further tips?
Hello guys, my phone dropped today and half of the screen is not working anymore. Also the touch does not seem to work. The problem is I just want to copy my photos to my computer but i cant because of the phone is locked and it needs a pattern password to unlock. Is there anyway without replacing the screen to copy my photos or unlock the phone. Thank you.
Hi,
You can plug an OTG cable and plug in a mouse to work around the touch screen issue. Other possibility is trying to boot in recovery mode to manage the files via USB, though I'm not sure if it would allow you to access internal data using adb or not.
All the best,

Hey i do have the USB OTG and i plugged in a mouse to try to enable the adb debugging but the problem is that i can't see the screen so i am working blindly and trying to 'guess' where i should click.
The thing is i can unlock my phone with the fingerprint, but when i connect it to the computer the files do not show, i believe there is a button i have to click to enable MTP ?
I really can't believe its that hard to copy some files from my phone just because the screen is black
Hi,
Yes there is a button to enable MTP and it is in fact hard to enable it without looking at the screen. Have you tried booting in Recovery to access your files?

Thanks in advance.
Me too hade same problem. It is usb driver problem. I insttal driver and fixed. but dont rimmeber wich one. Search youtube twrp mtp problem.
got my phone back with fixed usb connector, but my phone is not able to go into fastboot mode or anything, I still have recovery installed and can enter it, but i cant do anything else. To be more clear, flashtool and cmd cant find my device when I connect my phone to pc and I cant use any of microsds to install new softver since recovery doesnt recognize new sds, any ideas?
Where have you get your phone repaired?
ask them for a refund. This is most likely their fault for ruining your maple
Sounds like a bit of a dodgy repair job, considering that at the same time your sd card reader has started playing up. Is the pc you are using now, the same as before?
OEM in the Dev settings is enabled?
First try to connect via adb when the phone is running (for the key exchange)?
