s7 Active Camera vs regular S7 camera. - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Has anyone noticed any difference in the camera between the s7 and the s7 active? I've read that they are virtually the same camera but there are differences apparently. I mainly wanna know if the camera's handle blur better. It seems like if you are not in sunlit lighting on the s7 you get blurry pictures with slight motion. Which I though one of the biggest features about this phone was that wasn't suppose to happen.

I'm sure the only differences are bigger battery and shatterproof screen. Aside from that, they're pretty much identical.

One question, Will the S7 Active have unlocked bootloader? For root and custom roms?

I don't think he meant harm it's just annoying when the same questions are asked over and over. No the bootloader is not unlocked and not it probably won't be in the foreseeable future

Capacitive lights are not brighter after update!

Are yours any brighter? I truly think not! This was my main reason for trying to get this update ASAP but I am very disappointed that they didn't make them any brighter.

+1
for me it's the same thing
and unfortunately i don't think they can do something coz it's a hardware issue
Are by any chance on the stock kernel 30O?
you only see the difference if you got 2 phones to compare.

My friend got his yesterday and came by my house for me to root it etc, i had already updated to 4.4.4 (the second ota aswell) and his capacitive buttons were actually brighter than mine (he was 4.4.2 and i was 4.4.4).
That said, no, they did not get brighter.
While I agree they don't appear any brighter, its really a non issue for me. After a few days of using the phone, I already know where the buttons are.
No one cares... Although I agree I notice no difference
Obviously people care if they are posting in this thread. Have a good day

[Q] Update to 5.0.1 has ruined my camera!

Since the update my cameras shoot button has moved from the edge screen (one of my favourite features).
Can this be changed in settings or does anyone know where I can get the original camera apk?
Thanks in advance, David
Does the update fix the blurry start up?

You need to go back to Kitkat if you want that feature....
That does suck. :crying:That was the whole point of having the edge so you can move everything off the screen. Hopefully it is a setting somewhere or a change that can be made.

Hasn't been found yet and I know that it was a feature that was wanted by a lot of people.
I welcome the change.. Was not very natural feeling on the edge when taking landscape photos. But having the option to change between the two choices would please more people.
am curious.. did the same happen to everyone who updated their edge to the 5.0.1 version?

Yes. It is part of the lollipop update change. No way around it as of right now that i know of. I hope someone comes up with something because i really liked it on the edge

That sucks. Thanks. I will stick with my 4.4.4 till a change is made.

It made my note edge a note 4 with a smaller battery. This is what Samsung gives people that spend another $100 for their test product.

Buying Z5 - Bootloader Concerns

Hi everyone. I finally decided to buy a new phone after ages (I have Xperia V )
My definite choice was Nexus 6P, but now I'm also looking into Z5.
I don't care about price.
My only question is Does unlocking bootloader on Z5 affect camera quality?
According to Sony's Official Bootloader Unlock Website :
for instance Xperia Z3, the removal of DRM security keys may affect advanced camera functionality. For example, noise reduction algorithms might be removed, and performance when taking photos in low-light conditions might be affected. The secure user data partition may also become inaccessible

If yes, I'll stick with 6P
Yes. Stick with the nexus if you want custom rom and lots of development

Damn Sony!
I can live my life with stock roms, but not without unlocked bootloader and root
To be fair, coming from a Nexus 5, it's not actually bothered me not having root

Have you tried Adguard? No root needed.

True. Note 8's main selling USP is Dual Camera and Portrait Mode. They are not going to do that.
It can be achieved by third party application though but not sure about samsung.

That and we already have selective focus. It sucks but they might upgrade it.
Selective focus does not suck, and was better implementation of bokeh than google camera 'snap then move phone upwards', for years.
The only difference between portrait mode and selective focus is that one you select amount of blurring beforehand, and the other one after the pic is taken. That and obvious differences (dual lens etc.)
Don't see how they can achieve that with our single lens.
And please, this is phone arena article after all. They just had a slow day and needed to make **** up. They either speculate or regurgitate old stuff and present it as something new, to fill news.

Question Any devs in here?

I have an s22 ultra 908u I'm will to sacrifice and test on. Before I go doing weird stuff has anyone tried to flash other snapdragon firmware to the 908u?

Not a dev, but what exactly do you want to do to your device?
Unlock bootloader/offer to test any development stuff as I see no 908U roms/kernels or anything anywhere

No customization yet possible for your device.
Yes I know, which is why I'm offering to any dev to test for them. Currently have a one plus 10 pro with root so good to go and don't really care what happens to the s22.
