How to flash back from B209 to B112 then update to B211 - Huawei MediaPad X2

If you were already on stock B209 and want to go back to B112 and then update to B211 this guide is how I did it and what you need to do.
1) Wipe everything in TWRP including /cust
2) Fastboot flash stock B112 boot, cache, cust, system and userdata img files (For 703L flash recovery.img as well and skip steps 3 & 4)
3) Boot into TWRP and flash B112 Universal Cust Mod
4) Boot into bootloader and fastboot flash stock B112 recovery.img
5) Let the phone boot up
6) In settings do a factory reset. If you get reboots right after unlocking the screen shut the phone down then hold in vol up + power to boot into recovery
and wipe cache and data. Make sure the phone is not plugged into your computer when doing this.
7) Put the stock B211 update.zip in a dload folder in your internal storage
8) With the phone off hold in vol up + vol down + power to boot into upgrade mode. It should start installing B211.
9) After the install is finished boot up the phone and in settings do a factory reset so your information in About Phone is correct again.
10) Flash TWRP through fastboot then boot into TWRP and flash the B211 Universal cust mod if your About Phone information is wrong and flash my Systemless SuperSU to root.

Stuck at logo after SuperSu upgrade

Hi!
This morning I updated supersu binaries via CWM, beacuse "normal" upgrade didn't work.
Now the phone is stucked with the boot logo animation.... I tried to clear the dalvik cache, but I don't understand very well what is going on...
I neither know if the un-brick procedures applies to me, because I didn't ugpraded the EMUI
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my poor english
Follow this procedure to get your phone back to stock:
Download your phone's latest firmware and extract system.img, boot.img, recovery.img, cust.img from UPDATE.APP using Huawei Update Extractor tool.
Boot into bootloader mode by switching off the phone then pressing only the Vol DOWN button, and connecting it to PC simultaneously.
Flash recovery first, using this command.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Flash all other extracted files similarly firing these commands.
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash cust cust.img
fastboot flash system system.img
After doing this put that very UPDATE.APP from which you extracted the files in dload folder of your external SDCARD.
Switch off your phone, and press Vol UP + Vol DOWN + Power button simultaneously.
Your device will now get to the full stock firmware.
NOTE: If the manual flashing doesn't works or you get any errors, then first try only the force update method, i.e Putting the UPDATE.APP from which you extracted the files in dload folder of your external SDCARD and pressing Vol UP + Vol DOWN + Power button simultaneously after switching off your phone.
Thank you.
Is there no other way to "revert" SuperSU changes?
I guess something went wrong with that. I have same problem, but I did not update SuperSU, i just installed it and choose to clear dalvik cache.

Install an older version of SuperSU, like 2.51 or 2.62.
Don´t clean cache or Dalvik after install.
It might do a couple or reboots, just wait.

If you have a twrp backup restore only system. Or maybe try flashing only system img from fastboot. Worked for me.

older SuperSU does not work. I think it iss because of Android 6.
I need some sort of boot.img patching...
I reflashed system.img from huawai extract and all fine (except of rooting...)
Okay cool. I rooted by flashing SU 2.47 and was able to update from play store. Which I don't recommend. Just root and stick to that SU version
well, rooting without working supersu.zip - flash would be great, but I dont get it with Android 6.
no Problem with Android 5.1
And I dont want to use some strange chinese tool (that does not support honor 6 plus any more).
So you got Android 6 and root with Honor 6plus?

coming back from Kangvip_Slim_B209
Hi,
i managed to go to KangVipSlimB209. After trying a few things with the help from audioralf i decided to try to go back to SimplyGoogleB112 following the Thread "Safe way to get back to B112 (android 5.1.1) from B205 or B209 (android 6.0) ."
It didn´t worked
This is what i did after that :
1. Flash B112 Stock Images with ADB
Reboot
No Simcard Options, No carrier, Audio Problem and reboot again after unlock Lockscreen
Flash TWRP5.1.1
Factoryreset in TWRP
Boot into Bootloader
Flash Recovery B112
Reboot
After Factoyreset always no reboot after unlocking Lockscreen
2. After minimal Setup do a EMUI DLOAD GEM-703L_EMUI3.1_Android5.1_V100R001C233B112
Failed
Flash TWRP5.1.1
install SimplyGoogleB112
Factoryreset in TWRP
It worked
Problem now : My Phonememory ist diplayed in Settings 32GB but only 289MB free. Internal SD has only 3.86GB (already used 3,56GB)
I deleted the Custfolder and installed UniversalCust-B112, but no change.
I deleted the Custfolder again and installed UniversalCust-B209, also no change.
Is there a way to get internal SD back to 32 GB ?
Thanks for your help,
Sebastian Neumann

I used to be like you, would like to share some experience with you, firstly you must reflash rom KANGVIP_SLIM_B209 by reinstalling TWRP-ENG-6.0: Huawei MediaPad X2 connected to the computer, hold down the button at the same time source and volum - to enter the bootloader, ADB and fastboot open Minimal, in fastboot flash recovery TWRP-ENG-6.0.img, hold the power button at the same time and on the team to win volum + v2.8.7.0 recovery project, in Wipe, ADVANCED WIPE on, marking the start of Dalvik Cache 4; System; Cache, Data, done repeatedly, to install KANGVIP_SLIM_B209 selected in the external storage card, after completing the installation KANGVIP_SLIM_B209, reconnected to the computer, copying all data from the memory of the computer.
Then you continue working under the guidance of the article vuhongduong Safe Way to Get back to B112 (android 5.1.1) B205 or B209 from (android 6.0)
Wish you luck and success

dload method not working (Vol Up+Down+ Power) turned into Recovery

Hi I came from 702, flashed to 703 SimplyGoogle NearStock B111.
So i followed the
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-x2/general/how-to-convert-to-gem-702l-t3388477
Managed to flash with fastboot the 5 imgs. However, something went wrong and now i can't dload "Update.app" from dload folder.
Selecting LocalUpdate from Updater app doesn't work, it just reboots twice and goes to normal boot.
Vol Up+Down+Power ==> Holds it, release power when phone on, ==> phone reboots ==> keeps holding ==> Goes to TWRP5.0
Vol Up+Power ==> Huawei's eRecovery (WTF)
Vol Down+Power ==> bootloader (at least this works).
Can anyone help me out here? I'm stuck with the battery (either not charging or NOT showing its charging) and usb connection doesn't transfer (feel at all).
Edit: I keep getting an error from TWRP, dunno if it matters:
E:Failed to sysMapFile '/data/media/0/'
E:Error installing zip file '/data/media/0/'
Thanks and Regards,
Kev
Oops you may skipped reset on b015 and b106.
Do factory reset in TWRP.
Flash recovering boot and system from B106 and then install TWRP (newest version or TWRP for 5.11 and install universal cust mod b112.
Flash recovery.img for B106 on bootloader.
Start system and dload of b106 from EMUI.
Then do factory reset from EMUI including format internal sd.
My device: 701->703 B211 xposed 86

Hey Thanks a lot for the help. After lots of fastboot flashing, i'm actually got back to the end of your guide with NearStockB111 now.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-x2/general/how-to-flash-rom-gem-701-702-703-t3293795
I still have the same issue with the dload, should i try to follow the step you suggested still?
Flash recovery boot/system from B106 and install 5.1.1 TWRP and cust mod b112, and so on .
Second question, how can i get to b2xx from b111, most of the threads from android development requires you to be already in b2xx to flash.
Is it safe for me to try this b112 -> b209
http://forum.xda-developers.com/med...w-to-update-b112-to-b209-android-6-0-t3360279
even though i'm in b111?
Thanks a lot man
If you reached successfully B111, you don't need to start with B106.
Put both files update.app 112 and update.zip b211 to dload folder.
Flash only boot, system and recovery from b112
Start system and do factory reset from EMUI
Start system and select update local full update.app for b112.
Start system and select update local incremental update.zip from b211
Then flash newest TWRP and install KangVIP
My device: 701->703 B211 xposed 86

Thanks alot audioralf, i'm getting there (slowly )
I have 2 question:
1) i'm at "Start system and select update local full update.app for b112.", I got dload method to show up again. But i keep getting "Software Install failed" Incompatible with current version.
Note ** flashed boot/recovery/system from the same b112 package from
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24385226645962831
2) I found this update.zip for b211 here, is it an *incremental update*? how do i tell?
http://android.gl/download-huawei-mediapad-x2-gem-703l-c233b211-android-6-0-firmware.html
Thanks and Regards,
Kev
I thought you cust were ok. I seems not.
Flash TWRP and install universal cust mod b112
Then try update again.
It depends on the selected file on EMUI update menu, if it does full or incremental update. It's displayed.

Rollback to EMUI 4.1 failed, Phone does not finish booting anymore

Hello,
I'm now at a point that my Honor FRD-L09C432 does not finish booting after trying to rollback to EMUI 4.1.
The hole story:
First, i was running EMUI 5 on my FRD-L09 which was rooted.
I'm having problems with my bluetooth connection, so I decided to rollback to EMUI 4.1 B131 (latest full package)
and to start with a clean unrooted system.
First of all, i prepared a sdcard with the rollback package from honor (dload folder on sdcard). Butting in this sdacrd
and shutdown the device. Now I have started the device with vol+/- pressed to force update via dload.
Update process startet and finished sucessfull.
Now, I have placed the B131 full package on the sdcard (dload folder) and also forced update via vol+/- method
The process startet, running up to 99% and reports "failure" than.
Rebooting phone now shows only the blue background with honor logo. It does not finish booting after this.
Tried to factory reset devices with huawei recovery -> successfull, but does not help
Tried to install twrp (3.0.2.0) and to format manual system, data, cache, cust -> works for every mount point, but not for "data". Resize or format "data" partition fails also
Going to fastboot and flash manual "boot.img", "cust.img", "recovery.img" and "system.img" from unpacked B131 updated was successfull but phone even does not finish booting.
Anyone knows something how to fix the phone to get it back working?
Thanks for your help.
I would try using the dload method for the rollback package (http://download-c.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=92131&version=360512&siteCode=uk-h) first before repeating it for the B131 package.
Ok, I'm back in business.
Here is what i have done:
1. Flash offical twrp 3.0.2.0 with fastboot
2. Boot into recovery
3. open shell -> adb shell
4. mkfs.ext2 /dev/block/platform/hi_mci.0/userdata
5. reboot to bootloader
6. flash recovery + recovery2
7. force update to B131 by vol+/- method
8. Reboot
If it helps thank me

Need to upgrade but have questions

Hi guys. I rooted my phone after purchase about two years ago using https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/guide-how-to-root-mate-9-decrypt-data-t3569986
I am still running the same version now
Twrp
Model: MHA-L29
Build: MHA-L29C567B183
EMUI: 5.0
Android Version: 7.0
Any one got suggestions and steps to get to a newer version. I think I need to switch back to Erecovery etc but if someone had some exact steps and a good version to move to would be great. I had thought about installing magisk but my main concern is being able to run games like Pokemon go or Mario kart and they seem to be detecting my root. Not even sure having root is worth it anymore.
I installed stock recovery and did ota updates.. working like a champ!

Did you really flash TWRP to eRecovery? It is possible but people usually (specially if not installing Magisk on EMUI 9) flash TWRP to (EMUI) Recovery - which is not the same as eRecovery
So, do two tests:
- switch off
a) disconnect any USB
- press and keep pressing Vol+
- boot by Pow
In test b), do the same but with the phone connected to charger.
If it boots to TWRP in case a), then you flashed TWRP (as usual) to EMUI Recovery.
But if it boots to TWRP in case b), then you really flashed TWRP to eRecovery
If you have stock eRecovery, then in case b), once booted to eRecovery, do not accept Install latest or Factory reset, just Reboot or Shutdown
---
If you rooted by SuperSU, find an option like Full Unroot, or google for and find a zip for TWRP for unrooting - do unroot
Maybe, there are similar options for unrooting from phhSuperUser
Do not accept any OTA yet - if it comes
---
Install Firmware Finder app (from Playstore or from its thread on XDA).
Open, it will show firmwares for your MHA-L29C567
Scroll to the bottom to find your b183. Must be FullOTA-MF or FullOTA-MF-PV (2017.03.22)
Download its update.zip file, copy to PC, unzip to get update.apk - open it by Huawei Firmware Extractor (find its thread on XDA, read how to use it)
Extract Recovery.img (if you need to restore stock Ramdisk) or Recovery2.img (if you really need to restore stock eRecovery)
Extract also Boot.img
Flash Boot.img to Boot and Recovery.img to Recovery (if restoring Recovery), from TWRP or from Fastboot (similarly as you flashed TWRP from Fastboot back then)
Or, flash Boot.img to Boot and Recovery2.img to eRecovery, if you need to restore eRecovery
Now you should have stock Recovery and stock eRecovery - both tests a) and b) must not boot to TWRP
Also, you should have stock Boot - boot to system, check with RootChecker - there must be no more root
----
Have a proper SIM card and WiFi connection, go to Settings, System, Update, go to its menu and take the option to get Full OTA package
If it doesn't give you OTA update, boot to eRecovery (option b) as above, phone connected to the charger) and take Install latest firmware and recovery. Follow by Factory reset, only then boot to system
If eRecovery also fails to update from b183, you can try to update by HiSuite - it has also an option to choose installing a firmware
---
If it still fails to update, you can download by Firmware Finder b190 FullOTA-MF-PV (2017.10.31)
Download both zip files, do not unzip, copy them as downloaded to DLOAD folder on SD card (not Internal memory)
Switch off, press and keep pressing both Vol+ and Vol-, then boot by Pow
It should update to b190, and hopefully you will start receiving OTA updates for Oreo and Pie (must have SIM card)
If not - to be cont.
