Not sure what else you need. I have read a few threads saying you can root the Verizion HTC One M8, however I am not on Verizon's network. I just have the red version of the HTC so it's built for Verizon. I am using MetroPCS running off T-Mobiles network.. Metro told me I'd be ok.. however, they couldn't figure out how to work my data. I figured it out myself.. my phone functions properly on HSPA+ connection for both calls and data. 4G (CDMA) connection only works for data, no calls/texts. I can't update due to a GSM connection. Only work in CDMA. Can't use hotspot or any form of tethering because it has been disabled by Verizon manufacturers. (Until purchased) But I do have hotspot on my current plan with Metro, the issue is it's Verizon locked. Is there a way to fix this? Is it possible to get into the boot loader and remove all Verizon locks, so to speak and run its full connection, updates, mobile sharing through its GSM antenna.
Thank you in advance for any advice.

[Q] Unlocked Captivate can't see/register on Bell network

I just acquired an unlocked AT&T Captivate.
When I put my Bell Canada sim in I can not see/register/connect to the the Bell Network.
If I put my wife's Roger's sim it connects right away and when I enter the Rogers APN info it connects fine to the 3G network.
With the Bell sim in there I cannot even get to the menu for automatically or manually selecting the network as the meni option is grayed out/unselectable.
Any ideas? Are there other Bell Captivate users out there?
edit: with the Rogers sim in there and if I manually search for a network it list Rogers and a 302610 network which suspect is the Bell network as the MCC is 302 and MNC 610 for Bell
maybe video? i wanna see it
is the sim itself ok?
My cap runs fine on bell... I have the network selection part greyed out too but it picks up signal as soon as the sim is in place
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
I am assuming the SIM is fine. It works in an unlocked Telus Hero and an unlocked Rogers Magic. What video would be helpful? Of the settings screen or the no signal icon in my notification bar?
I get no errors or warnings with my Bell sim in there. It just won't find the network.
(and thanks for confirming that there is at least one other cap working on Bell)
My plan is to get Froyo on here anyway. Is changing the ROM or Kernal likely to impact this issue at all?
which band does bell use? which modem you use? (euro or us?)
Bell uses 850 & 1900 - my understanding is that they are same as the Rogers frequencies.
I am assuming I am using a US modem. How do I check the modem? The phone is an AT&T phone that did arrive in my hands rooted and unlocked already so I suppose something else could have been done to it.

Baseband version: I897UCJH7
Kernel version: 2.6.29 [email protected] #2
build number: ECLAIR.UCJH7
Anyone? I've tried different modems and ROMs including the Bell i9000 modem/rom for the Captivate. Its almost like my sim is bad but I know it works in my htc magic.
well in case some one else has this problem it was the SIM. Apparently there is a problem with a batch of Bell SIMs - they had me swap to a new SIM and I connected immediately.
Woo Hoo!

[Q] Will the Inspire work on Rogers/Fido in Canada?

Given that Att and Rogers use the same gsm frequencies, I suppose this phone will work on rogers. Does the fact that this is a 4g phone change anything? The inspire is 100 bucks cheaper than the telus desire hd which is available in Canada. So if this phone works on rogers (including 3g), the inspire is a more logical choice.
Yes, just be sure to buy it unlocked, or find an unlock code.
I'm thinking of picking up one of these as well
HTC Inspire 4G works great under Rogers!
Hey! I recently bought the HTC Inspire 4G and it works well on the Rogers network. This is to confirm that I have data in 3G, and voice+mms services. The phone is magnificient!
EDIT: Note that you will need to set the Data APN and MMS APN.
For more information google "apn rogers mms" and it should be the first nexusoneforum result.

[Q] Motorola Atrix 2 - baseband version unknown international

Hello. We are using Motorola Atrix 2 phones for a global public health project and we have run into an issue. We are ordering the phones unlocked from Amazon.com and we are receiving two versions, one that has AT&T printed on it and one that does not. The one that does not works with both a US T-mobile sim and a US AT&T sim so it is truly unlocked. However, in Ethiopia when we insert an Ethiopia telecom sim the About Phone shows Baseband Version -UNKNOWN and if I go into More settings the Mobile Networks is grayed out. If I take the same phone and put in a US T-mobile sim I get the Baseband Version info and the Mobile Networks sees the Ethiopia Telecom network.
I flashed the phone from Android 2.3.6 to 4.0.4.
System version 67.21.125.MB865.ATT.en.US
Model number: MB865
Firmware config version is GAS_NA_EDSNICSATT_P006
Build number is 6.7.2-226-EDICS-10
This is a huge problem for us as we have 24 phones which can't be used for the project. We are trying to find out if this is just an Ethiopia Telecom issue or a worldwide (other than the US apparently) problem.
Please help!!

[Q] Unlocked AT&T RM-877 not getting LTE in non AT&T networks

Hello,
I have an SIM unlocked but AT&T branded RM-877_nam_att_205 with Lumia Denim Update:
Name: Lumia 1020
Model: NOKIA 909
Carrier: AT&T
OS version: 8.10.14226.359
Firmware revision number: 3051.50009.1451.1001
Hardware revision number: 3.3.0.2
I have a Movistar MX LTE SIM whichs works fine, even tethering works, but even it shows 4G connectivity it does not really connects to LTE, accessing the Field Test ##3282# in the LTE info says:
Sys Mode Invalid
Also in the field test app forcing the phone to connect with 4G only does not work, only with 2G and 3G only modes.
I know there is no way to flash my phone with another ROM other than AT&T one, and I really would not want to change the ROM, but only to get the LTE speed work with my carrier which has already LTE Band 4 enabled in my city.
Is there a way to enable the LTE connectivity without changing the ROM?

Have unlocked AT&T S10e with T-Mobile firmware..how do I get back to AT&T for wi-fi calling.

My phone is an unlocked AT&T phone. It has AT&T bloatware. The serial number indicates it is an AT&T phone. The service provider software version is ATT. I bought the phone so I could use the wi-fi calling feature which is nowhere to be found. Put the AT&T SIM in my son's phone and he has wi-fi calling. AT&T's website gives the latest firmware as G970USQS5GUF1. My phone was just updated OTA to G970USQS6GUI1 which happens to be the T-mobile firmware. I put a T-mobile SIM card in the phone and I now have wi-fi calling. T-Mobile coverage is basically non-existent in rural Appalachia so I don't want to switch carriers. I have read numerous posts that say the basic firmware is the same for all carriers. So, my question is which files do I need to flash to get wi-fi calling working on my phone? Also, I can't really go back to BL 5 can I? I am totally new to this although I have flashed a Moto before.
