Possibly a stupid question. By possibly I mean probably.
Ascend Mate 7. Or any similar android device. Would it be possible to flash it with a version of W10 Mobile? I realize the bootloader probably is the limiting factor, but as a "hardcore" Windows Phone guy, I have to ask, as I love the specs of the Ascend Mates.
Thanks.
Dave
P.S.. I HAVE been searching for this for a while & Microsoft HAS done this via a custom ROM ... see Xiaomi Mi4.
And before all you haters hate, here's some bait:
Windows Phones are Better.
If it was possible we would have more than just an an old kitkat Cyanogenmod and a Kangvip rom..

Hello guys,
I was just wondering if i could get android on my Samsung I8910HD phone which runs Symbian S60.I know that 99% that this aint possible but can i use symbian ROM flashing tool(it is nearly similar to odin) to flash android stock ROM while my phone is in recovery mode??? I've heard about nitdroid project in which they install android in Nokia N8 and some more phones. Note - Im just a 14 yr old noob indian(So pls forgive me if u think that this is a silly question. )

No silly questions
I don't think is a silly question and apparently it can be done. How hard have you searched? I don't own a Symbian, but I just did a quick search on the Net and a lot of hits came up...
Lots of YouTube videos. Do you want to change the OS or just install android apps? (That can also be done and it is easier).
Cheers,
No progress!!1
I've tried very hard in doing this(I've never actually tried on the phone cause it is not my phone it is my moms(I own a samsung galaxy y which is rooted and Running stock rom and CWM Recovery) and im afraid that i may Hard Brick her phone). And CyanChip I want to change the whole osand i dont want the apps only(I've heard about AlienDalvik). OOps Srry CyanChip. AlienDalvik supports only iOS for now. It would be good if u could tell me how to install just the apps. Hoping that a DEV will make this possible.

First of all nitdroid project is for Maemo OS, Meego OS based or Nokia's old tablet OS based phones it was Nokia N9 not the N8 where they installed android, and the models which they (nitdroid) refer as N8xx are the Nokia N800 and Nokia N810.3
Second andoid can't be flashed on symbian OS devices.

Hi guys,
somehow i am thinking about buying this phone but i strongly dislike the emui and i am a custom rom junkie (or more a flash junkie hehe).
so any chance for getting good customs? like slim rom / cyanogen and such stuff? or isn't huawei the company for them to go for? i have no experience with huawei, that is why i ask coming from samsung / nexus / opo phones with tons of custom roms i wonder how it is like for huawei....
me too, want Google-Dialer and Contacts .... but we must wait, the phone is really new, custom rom will come
My dream is an google play edition rom for this phone
Hi
I have installed many custom roms on my LG G2 VS-980 and enjoyed alot, I was thinking that if there is any way to install windows as a custom using TWRP, if there is than it would be really great for any one who wants to switch OS without compromising their own devices...

No, smartphones are designed to work with certain Operating Systems , it's the same thing as wanting to install the Apple OS on the phone. Each Operating System will be looking for certain hardware components in the phone that it's designed to work with. Though it is possible to theme roms to make it look like a windows phone.
Please press thank button if I helped you.
Dear forum,
What can I put on a Huawei Honor 4x Che2-L11 that is currently running Android 6.0 ?
I would prefer to install CM, but there is no version for the Ch2-L11, not even a development version. I found two custom ROMs online, and tried one of them. It would have been fine except that the SIM cards were not working, because these ROMs were made with an older firmware version. (Read more about this issue by searching for MoDaCo custom rom Che2-L11.)
Can anybody recommend either (A) a way to install CM on a Che2-L11, maybe point me to some developer community where there is already work done on that front, or (B) a place where I can find custom ROMs for the Che2-L11?
For the time being, I will be exploring the Honor 4x and its capabilities, while reading your forum to look for advice. I'll certainly try installing the Ubuntu on-top-of Android, which I assume has a similar function and usefulness as cygwin in Windows.

Do a google search for:
"Custom ROMs for (your model number)"
If that doesn't give you any results then nothing exists for you phone, in that case, you'll have to build a custom ROM for yourself or port a custom ROM from a similar device to work with yours.

Since i got this phone i sadly realized that...why is that being the case that mate 8 is a powerfull and very famous device?if i always thought i would find a rom for my device is here in xda but i am surprised for bad...the few roms that there are are most based on chinese roms...
I agree. I've spent a lot of time looking for custom rooms for my Mate 8. I used to have a Samsung and there's no lack of roms for that brand. Hopefully more roms will follow for Huawei Mate 8.
Sadly, because the phone doesn't say Samsung/HTC/Google etc...
cuz huawei their own kirin cpu is not open source.
thus devs cant make actual custom rom like aosp, los.
but mate8 oreo support treble. so it's possible to flash aosp rom on mate 8 in the foreseeable future.
