If you have already put whatstup app in list that still work after screen turn off and have give all permissions and a notifications then you missed one more step...
Go to settings - app - and click the left button "more settings" or something like that... Go to the latest menu "ignore optimization and put what's app and any other app you want to take notifications "allow"
After that kill what's app from ram and try it...

Question: banner call

Hi everyone, I have a simple question that bother me a bit. If I remember correctly, when I used for the first time this phone, I saw a black little banner at the top of the screen for an incoming call, like the ones for the notification s. Now, when I'm using it and I receive a call, there is no banner at the top (useful if I don't want to answer the call and keep doing my stuff), instead the call appear in the whole screen.
There is a way to add this banner for an incoming call?
Thank you in advance!

Unfortunately yes. When I bought the phone I started to modiy different settings and now I can't put it back.
Probably is in the notification menu, notification settings and there I should find the phone app where I could activate the banner option, but there is no phone app..

There is an option for the heads up notification under settings --> notification and control panel --> notification centre. From there you can modify different apps for the heads up notification, the lock screen notification and the status bar. I have this option for many apps such as what's app or Facebook, but there is no phone app. That's the main problem! And I remember at the beginning, when I had this phone for the first day, I could answer a call from this heads up notification. I also tried to turn all the listed apps on but without success.

In my menu there is no such name. Can u send me a screenshot of that pls?
I'm using the EMUI 5.0 beta, so it could be different. If it's not there try Settings -> Apps -> ... (at the bottom of the screen) -> Show system processes -> Dialer (scroll down the list to find it) -> Notifications. I remember that being the same in EMUI 4.1.
Hi,
What evilpaul13 wrote should work for your version of EMUI also.

Ok, it's the same in EMUI 4.1. I find the process and, sadly, the notification "banner" is on.
I also discover when i'm watching a video on youtube or with the player video, the call actually appear in the pop-up notification, so maybe it work for every devices like that. Now i'm curious if it is the same for your phones. Do the pop-up notification appear only when you are watching a video and if u are doing different stuff it appear at full screen?
Unless the app that is sending the notification is the one running if you've got banners turned on you should see them.

App not closing when lock screen

I only have allowed whatsapp, weather, and wunderlist app to run when screen is locked and i noticed for example when i run Instagram and i lock my screen the app still running for hours.....
The only way to close apps not allowed to run is to clean all apps under the "recent apps menu".
This does not happen in p9 lite for example, without need to clean the recent apps tab, when I turned off the screen all the apps not allowed closed completely
Is this a bug or its normal?
use greenify could be a wake lock
When you close an app, it's important to use the back button rather than the home button.
go developers settings and change background process to minimum might help you out to get less apps running into the background
but just for info . its healthy to keep apps running in background even if it taking ram it will stabilize your multitasking ! .

I'm having the same problem. It's a shame that so many members chimed in with no solution but instead tell you that having apps running in the background is best. The fact is, this is a feature that can be configured on the Honor 8 but it currently isn't working whereas it used to work. I don't want to keep apps like browser, games, moviepass, or apps that I don't care about notifications anyway such as Snapchat. All I want is to just lock my phone and have comfort knowing that all the apps I wanted closed will be closed.
So the question remains, has anyone found a solution for this? Is this just a problem with conflicting settings configurations? If you don't have a solution, please don't respond.

How to disable message preview??

Hello,
I've done this in the past with previous devices but can't seem to figure out how to disable message preview from certain apps like What's App. I have pop ups turned off inside the app but it still shows a preview when it's running in the background. Any fix for this??

Hiboard stopped working

I am hoping someone can help me. I deleted my Huawei ID and set up a new one yesterday. I then noticed on my Hiboard page I have suggested apps but no longer have any news feeds.
Does it take a day or two for the news feeds to show up or is my Hiboard no longer working?
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated!
Maybe reset huawei launcher or all apps to default.

Thanks for responding.......how do you do that?
In the settings go to apps and click the 3 dots and reset all apps preferences.
Or find huawei home application there and clear it's data.

Did try that but it didn't work. I also tried a factory reset and that didn't work.

Its simple to get news feed.
*First you want to setup flipboard app(want to download if not).
*then go to manage option by swiping from left from hiboard page(click the pen like icon)
*you will see a list of app suggestions and news
*you want to slide the app suggestion to bottom(if it is in top)
OR
*Slide the app suggestions to top(if it is in bottom)
THATS ALL YOU ARE GOOD TO GO FOR NEWS FEEDS.
*IF THIS HELPED YOU,LIKE IT*
How to enable hi board in not. China rom
Please let me what you mean by manage option

Bro I assume you are using EMUI 9.1. The option is still there. We can still mark notifications as read or reply to them from notifications. The options are not visible if you are using any dark theme. And options are not visible but they are still present there. Just try tapping a bit below the notification and you will get the options.
I think the font is also black which is the reason it blends in with the theme hence we are not able to view the option.
Hope this helps. Please post a screenshot next time so we will be able to understand the problem easily

i've contacted huawei about this and they said it's about security enhacement of the applock
apps locked with applock can not show the content via notification bar until you unlock it first
and if we still want to view what about notifications or mark them as read we must remove these apps from applock
