Xperia ion forgot screen pin code - General Questions and Answers

Hey, I have this ancient Xperia Ion that I haven't used for years and recently decided to turn it on coz I have a prepaid card from a different country. Cgarged it and turned it on, all worked well until I got to the screen lock part.. I have no idea what pin (the four digit number) I put back then. Tried plenty of combos but I just can't unlock it. Tried to hold volume down and power button to perform a data wipe but the phone starts normally with no options. For 0.01 seconds I see some text and then Sony log appears. Emma flashtool does not work since my phone 's bootloader is not unlocked. I tried to use the xperia companion but upon pressing volume down and then connecting I get an error message telling me to contact sony support.
Tried opening the xperia support page but the Xperia Ion phone has been removed and I don't have it listed on my personal sony page as I didn't bother to register it there...
Is there anything else I can do to wipe the data or anything whatever just to bypass the screen lock?
PS. I don't have an android manager set up, all I can do is call my phone and send a request that I can\t open since my phone is screen locked.
Thanks in advance and sorry for the vague explanation, n00b here.
PS2 I can't post in the xperia Ion subforum since I don't have the required posts to do so

1.Unlock with google account(Android 4.4 or below)
Put any wrong pattern until 5 times then there will be a messages "Forgot Pattern?" Click it and follow the instruction
2.Restore your data from lock screen using computer.
Download "Android Data Recovery" to your pc and run it,choose more tools then choose android screen removal and follow the step, after that, choose download mode, and follow the step.
Note:You have to debug your USB and choose "MTP" mode in advance.
3.Reset Phone to factory setting
Thats what i can help,Hope its helpful

1 is not available as I don't have a pattern, it's the four number pin code and there is no option "forgot pin"
I tried yesterday and it said it only supports a few Samsung phones.
Now I tried to debug the USB (I think it was selected on my phone.. Can't remember) which instantly caused a bad pool caller bsod.
3. I can't do because the hard key combo will do nothing.

Already flash recovery before? If yes you may have to rap SONY logo 5-6 times while booting to get in to recovery or you can press volume + button 5-6 times while booting,so you can wipe data to delete your password data
Note:Sony phones do not have stock recovery. You have to flash custom recovery.
Or if the solution above still not working, you could try other ways :

The last way is to bring your phone to serviceperson...maybe they can help.

[Q] Hard Reset is not working?

Hello!
I try to hard reset my sister phone today using this methods:
- Pc Companion
- Vol up + power button
I even try flashtool and emmy to help me remove this lock screen (my sister changed it and now she don't remember...)
I also can not unlock bootloader with FlashTool.
When I press vol up + power button phone vibrate like this
- 1 time
- 3 time
- 1 time
and it loops like that. one vibration, then three, then one again. What's wrong with my phone? It is possible that phone is locked "harder" becouse she try so many times and fail? Around 150.. USB debug mode is turned off
Of course she don't remember his gmail account details (isn't it obvious) I don't know how to help her, any ideas?
Now, the only solution you have in this scenario is by using the repair option of Sony PC Companion or you can also use flashtool to flash your firmware again.

[Completed] Retrieve Data from Bricked S3

Hi There,
Firstly I do apologize if this has already been posted, but I have searched through the forums and have not been able to find any specific information about this particular problem.
I have a Galaxy S3 (purchased in 2012) and a few weeks ago, the phone started to automatically switch off (when I locked it) and I would have to hold the power button for about 15-30 seconds for it to switch back on.
I checked the power button(to see if it was broken and pressing down all the time) but it seemed to be fine as whenever I pulled the battery, the phone would NOT come on unless I held the power button.
About 1 week ago when i tried to turn my phone on, with the power button, but it would get stuck on the samsung logo screen (it was frozen, not looping).
I was still able to enter both recovery and download mode. So I tried wiping the cache but it did nothing.
Then I tired flashing the ROM with ODIN and it passed but it also did nothing (tried flashing multiple times all with "PASS" as well as wiping the data cache in conjuction with the flashing but to no avail).
Tried flashing it again with BL and it also passed, but now whenever I try to enter Recovery Mode or Turn the phone ON it would display a White Scrambled Screen which probably means eMMC failure.
Now for the problem:
How do I retrieve the information on the phone ?
N.B;
- I do not care about fixing the phone, only want the information
-I cannot enter Recovery Mode, BUT I can enter download mode.
-When I connect S3 to PC it is detected (In Device Manager it states "Samsung Mobile USB CDC Composite Device")
-I did have my phone password protected before this happened using the Pattern Password (you have a 3x3 Dot grid in which you can use to draw a line(s) which will function as a password)
-My phone is an S3 GT-I9300
-Never interfered with the ROM or software on the phone before this (was running the official android software from Samsung which I believe was Android Version 4.3).

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
I was going to suggest this thread...
> Samsung Galaxy S III I9300, I9305 > Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > Recovering data from brick I9300
...but I see you made it there already.
So yeah, flash those (CF-AutoRoot and TWRP/Team Win Recovery Project) in order via ODIN/Download Mode. Should be able to be in a state to back up your files to a MicroSD (or go the more readable, but slower process of "adb pull").
Hope this helps, and good luck!

Screen went black

Hi Everyone,
I bought the Honor View 10 and it was delivered to me on 16.08.18. On 17.08.18 all of a sudden while using the phone, the screen went black. The phone is working though as I called from another number and it was ringing. The screen lights up but it is completely black. Since the seller has a replacement policy, I have already raised a complaint and the phone will be replaced. The issue I have is, all my data is on the phone and I am unable to wipe it. I can't do it via adb as it needs to have the USB debugging option enabled on the phone, which I can't enable now. One method I tried was tying to boot into recovery and assuming that I am pressing the correct buttons and wipe it from there. But this is very hard and I am not sure if I achieved anything or not.
This is what I did:-
1. Since the phone is on and currently stuck on lock screen, I need to enter the pin which I can't. So, I keep on pressing the power button until it reboots.
2. Then I press the volume up button and here I think I am booting into recovery. I think I was in recovery because my phone was connected to my pc and it stopped recognizing it. After this I did some button pressings and not sure if anything happened.
If anyone has a method which I can use to wipe my phone, please share. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the link. I tried it, but since the location on the device was turned off, it is unable to connect to the phone. Here is what more I tried so far:-
I was able to boot into fastboot mode. But none of the commands worked. "fastboot -w", " fastboot erase userdata", "fastboot reboot recovery". My pc is reading the device because when I type " fastboot devices", my device is listed. And the other command that is working is "fastboot reboot".

Another thing you can try, if WiFi is ON on your device, is try to install app to mirror the screen of the phone to your PC, you can do this via PC, open Chrome, log in with same phone's user, get in Play Store and install the app
Sorry but right now I don't remember a good one, but if you search, sure you'll find a good one
turn on internet
login to your google account
go to find my phone option
there you will have option to erase your data

Yes location is off on my phone .. I tried that option though but couldn't locate the erase option there .. these were the options:-
1. Ring or Locate
2. Check recent security events for suspicious activity
3. Try calling your phone
4. Sign out on your phone
5. Reach out to your carrier
6. Learn how to take extra steps next time
I tried searching for a mirror app as well. But all the apps I found needed to be opened once on the phone. So, got stuck in that step.
The new replacement phone was ordered today and it might get delivered by Friday. I think I'll visit the service center once before the new phone arrives and this one gets picked up. I though don't think they'll be to erase my phone without replacing the screen. But still I'll give it a shot. Apart from that, if the batter dies and the phone turns off, I'll then try to boot into recovery and wipe from there. Do you know any button combinations which can be used to turn off the phone?

Boot stuck at Running colors on the word "XPERIA" :(

I did the factory reset normally on via the setting menus. Then the phone restarted normally and stuck at at the XPERIA screen with changing colors for hours.
Did a force restart and the same thing happens. If I boot holding volume up and power at the first vibration it says 'Your device is corrupt. It can’t be trusted and may not work properly.' and boot into a screen with three dots (apparently a corrupted software).
Xperia Companion wouldn't help as it says "locked screen" when both power off and on.
I tried to fastboot via adb to factory reset again hoping things will get better. But the device is not detected despite installing the driver a million time.
I can't think of any other options. PLEASE HELP

Need help with my Google FRP locked [non-rooted] LGL455DL

I made the mistake of Factory Resetting my phone after a few failed attempts at remembering the Pattern to unlock the phone, in doing so I ended up being stuck in the set-up process because I forgot the Google account I was logged into on it before the Factory Reset, had been an account I just quickly made on the spot months ago just to set up an app on it. I'm posting here for help with this since I'm on day 4 of trying to find a way to bypass this and my head is ready to explode. I feel like someone with a fresh mind would be able to point me in the right direction.
If anyone can let me know if I'm doing something wrong or missing some steps that will help me try any one of these, or honestly any advice at all... I'd very much appreciate it and it'd help relieve a huge chunk of this ridiculous headache this has all been.
Thanks in advance!
What I've tried thus far --
- I know for most ways around this, USB debugging needs to be enabled. But since I cannot get past the initial set-up process, I can't access the settings to enable it.
- I also know that for a lot of Android devices USB debugging is enabled by default in Recovery Mode but everywhere I've searched for the hardware combination to boot into Recovery/Download mode, all say the same thing:
Turn phone off > Power up with Vol. Down + Power button until 'Download Mode' is displayed (for boot into Download mode, while holding Vol. Down + Power button plug OTG cable into device)
- My problem with this is that on my device, Vol. Down + Power button, restarts the phone. So instead of 'Download Mode', I'm just restarting the phone over and over again. I was able to get my phone to boot into was Safe mode using the Power button + Side button.
- I've also tried getting around this through a series of steps which involved the 'TalkBack' accessibility feature, but when I try toggling to enable it I just get a message saying "Complete setup first to continue"
From there --
I started looking up Stock ROMs that I'd be able to just flash the firmware. But for the life of me, I cannot seem to find anything for this device. And this is where I'm pretty much at now.
To remove FRP lock you boot into phone's Recovery mode and apply
1. Wipe data
2. Factory Reset
Every Android device gets shipped by default with Android Recovery.

I can't get my device to boot into Recovery mode. Everywhere I look up, it tells me to Power off device, then Press Vol. Down + Power key until the menu appears. But on my device, all that combination does is force the phone to restart.
