Moto G 2015 vs Turbo. Which should i get? - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. I have the opportunity to buy a new phone, and the 2 options are the Moto G 2015 for $2800 MXN and the Turbo for $3600 MXN. As you can see, I live in México.
The difference between both is the G has only 1gb RAM while the Turbo is 2gb RAM. Also, Turbo is an Octacore. And also seems to have Turbocharger. Both are 16gb ROM and the Turbo seems to be IP67 while the G is IPx7
What I am trying to realize right know before setting the order is, which one should I get considering I want to use Cyanogenmod on it? It seems there isn't much development for the Turbo. While Osprey is much embraced.
Which device has more compatibility? Which one has more information in general? I don't want to buy one device and then get cut off on a wall.
Also, I am a CE student here in MX and would like to start developing for android in the near future, just punctualizing this even though it is not needed.
Right now I have a Condor, Falcon and Ghost. Thinking of selling one or two after dealing with this dilema.
Thanks

Oh, ok. Thanks.
I canceled my Moto G Turbo order and bought the G3 for the better. Cheaper, more information everywhere and really good resell price. And also has already been shipped to my home.

[Q] Moto G fell on the ground

Helo,
My 1 day old Moto G fell on the ground. Result is that the screen isn't broken, but the right side off the screen doesn't respond anymore and the colors of the screen are also strange...
You can see an image here: http://oi58.tinypic.com/adlrww.jpg
I found a tear down video off the Moto G here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fd3AZSXhOf8
If I buy a new Moto G screen/digitizer like here: http://www.etradesupply.com/motorola-moto-g-lcd-screen-and-digitizer-assembly-black.html
Should this fix my problem?

Not sure if a new screen/digitizer will fix your problem but you may want to consider just selling your current phone on ebay and then using the auction funds to purchase a new Moto G since the device is relatively inexpensive. Cracked Moto Gs on ebay seem to be fetching at least $100 or more for the 16 GB version:

No one who already repaired his broken screen?
As was suggested i would put it on ebay and put the money it makes towards a new one.
If you try repairing it you might end up worse off.
Firstly while doing the strip down and repair you might break something else and secondly you might do it correctly and still find out it didn't fix the problem.

[Q] Moto G charging port repair

Hi, my 8gb moto g's screen cracked so I was looking for a moto g to take its display off and put it on mine, but instead I found a 16gb moto g with a broken charging port, and I wanna keep that instead, so my question is, is it possible to remove my 8gb moto g's charging port and put it on the 16gb one?
Because I took it for repair and they said that I need a new one which I feel is an unneccesary spend since I have my own to use.
Or course it's possible, if you have the soldering skills. The part can be found on eBay.
Yes you can.

Replacement logic board for XT1032

Hi all,
could somebody help me where can I get a replacement logic board for XT1032? I searched eBay and similar pages and all I found is some Verizon XT1028 and Boost Mobile XT1031 boards for various prices and mostly unknown origin. My model is the 8GB retail UK model but any other motherboards would fit me as long I can put a Hungarian SIM card in it, and the company/seller ships to Hungary.
Cheers!
No one replaced his logic board yet?
Actually i am not a fan of throwing away items if they are repairable.
But i guess that if you find a new logic board somewhere it will cost more than the half of a new Moto g.
Then you can also use the broken Moto G as a spare part for your new one.
You could really not find any Moto G with a broken screen?
Sry for not answering your question

Nope, the replacement screens are pretty cheap and it is easy to get one. On eBay the XT1028 boards are around 35-50 USD and the most expensive Boost Mobile board is around 70 USD, while here in Hungary even the used Moto G devices cost you around 220 USD and if you order from other countries the shipping cost cancels any price difference.
Worst case I get a Verizon board and use it as a development device and use it with wifi

My best advice is to buy a second hand last gen flagship phone on ebay. For example the Galaxy Note 2 is going for around that price.
For $200 you are limiting yourself to pretty low-end devices id you buy new.
You can buy a good smartphone in this budget. You can prefer Nokia X, Samsung Galaxy S Duos, Nokia Lumia 525 and Gionee M2. These all are good quality phone with lots of smart features.
OnePlus One
OnePlus X
Moto G 2015
LG G2 from here only £80
LG G3 from here only £120
the last two are from ebay i cant post link im not high enough level to post outside links there from a guy called cell-plaza on ebay
the last 2 are real iv used them for both phones the LG g2 was for my GF i shoved cyanogenmod 13 on it
the LG G3 was for my dad and i also shoved Cyanogenmod 13 on it as well

Moto G 16gb on Amazon

The 2015 16gb/2gb $219 version has been available for a few days on Amazon.
Anybody purchase one of these (for US usage) in my case T-mobile?
My main concern is Quality Control.
Any reports would be welcome.

Why would quality control be a concern? I have not seen any major reports of issues with the 3rd gen Moto G.

Quality control to a specific reseller is rarely ever an issue... Amazon just gets a specific, or few specific, models, the quality should be no different than one purchased directly from Motorola.

I just ordered the 2015 16/2GB model last night from Amazon because my 2 year old Nexus 5 finally bit the dust. I use T-Mobile and can let you know how it is. I'll have it by tomorrow night.

It would be very interesting to know your opinion on the moto G after you used the Nexus 5

Me too - I didn't want something physically larger than the N5, and even though the Moto G is slightly larger, it was close enough for me. All the flagships these days are freaking huge or too expensive. What I really wanted was the Xperia Z5 Compact, but I wasn't interested in shelling out $550+ on eBay right now.
I just received mine today (One day prime shipping). Popped in my cricket wireless sim card and it works great! Just had a OTA Update out of the box. Quality is much better than I expected, beats my idol 3 with "In-hand" feel.
I ordered one from Amazon, too. My AT&T SIM card worked fine. I was able to unlock the bootloader, flash a custom recovery, and flash a custom ROM without any issues. The device works as advertised, and runs very smoothly!

I received my Moto G last night from Amazon. Popped the T-Mobile SIM in and fired it up with no problems. I've only used it for a few hours, but performance for my use seems to be on par with the Nexus 5. One huge improvement over the N5 are the speakers. Moto G speakers are much better quality and louder. I am also looking forward to testing out the battery life compared to the N5. The one thing I will have to get use to is the slightly larger body of the phone. I think my old HTC One S was the best sized phone I have owned. Everything has gotten so much bigger, and I prefer something less than 5 inches. Thinking if the Z5 compact comes down in price, I may ditch the Moto G for it, but I'll have to wait and see.

Great so far. It has been 6 days. I notice no difference in LTE Speeds. I average around 28 Mbps down and 8 Mbps up in South suburbs of Chicago. If anything, the wireless antenna might be a little weaker than the Nexus 5 was, but that hasn't been a problem. Overall I am quite satisfied with the purchase. Battery life is about double what I got with Nexus 5 before it died on me.
