Helo,
My 1 day old Moto G fell on the ground. Result is that the screen isn't broken, but the right side off the screen doesn't respond anymore and the colors of the screen are also strange...
You can see an image here: http://oi58.tinypic.com/adlrww.jpg
I found a tear down video off the Moto G here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fd3AZSXhOf8
If I buy a new Moto G screen/digitizer like here: http://www.etradesupply.com/motorola-moto-g-lcd-screen-and-digitizer-assembly-black.html
Should this fix my problem?
Greetings,
A disappointing Moto G user

Not sure if a new screen/digitizer will fix your problem but you may want to consider just selling your current phone on ebay and then using the auction funds to purchase a new Moto G since the device is relatively inexpensive. Cracked Moto Gs on ebay seem to be fetching at least $100 or more for the 16 GB version:

No one who already repaired his broken screen?
As was suggested i would put it on ebay and put the money it makes towards a new one.
If you try repairing it you might end up worse off.
Firstly while doing the strip down and repair you might break something else and secondly you might do it correctly and still find out it didn't fix the problem.

If you type "Moto G teardown" on google, there is an article showing that some group from Germany did it. They were trying to see if it would be possible to upgrade the storage. They confirmed the storage cannot be upgraded, however, they found out that the battery can be replaced.
It'll probably be awhile until there will be battery replacements available. Motorola intended for the battery to not be replaced, so I can only see third parties producing batteries for sale. You know, the ones that claim 5000mah capacity.... lol
Also the moto g battery looked like it wasn't the simple redwire/blackwire/pin-type batteries from older phones or a battery you can just solder on. Its a ribbon with a special connector.
Hi,
My screen has cracked, where can i buy a screen to replace?(i have someone who can replace it)
I have not found on the internet a new screen. I can not post links, so I'll write what I found on the internet.
On cellphones.ca
Question: Where to get new screen for my Motorola Moto G?
Answer: In case anyone else wants this information, if you go to Motorola'll be directed to the SBE repairs sbeglobalservice.com / uk /, who will charge £ 71.40 for an out of warranty repair screen.
I just bought a new Moto G. Does not Seem to be worth all the hassle for a replacement considering the phone's so cheap.
Question: If you have problems with the Motorola Moto G, where can you go for support, replacement or repairs?
Answer: Problems? That sucks! Sorry to hear. If your Motorola Moto G needs a little TLC, you have a couple options. Could you contact the store where you originally You Could Purchased the device or contact Motorola directly. Your eligibility for repair, replacement or support may depend on the warranty period remaining. Good luck!

I'm sorry but this is all I found. I live in Jordan and I have a problem similar to yours. You can try to register on the website of Motorola (forums.motorola . com/pages/home), then register your Moto G and open a new discussion, they could help you.
Hi, my 8gb moto g's screen cracked so I was looking for a moto g to take its display off and put it on mine, but instead I found a 16gb moto g with a broken charging port, and I wanna keep that instead, so my question is, is it possible to remove my 8gb moto g's charging port and put it on the 16gb one?
Because I took it for repair and they said that I need a new one which I feel is an unneccesary spend since I have my own to use.
Or course it's possible, if you have the soldering skills. The part can be found on eBay.
Yes you can.
Hi,
I got a moto g phone today although this is working fine but i think that it is a used phone because i can see some minute scraches on the screen
also the make of the phone is around may 2014 and it belongs to problematic imei 3533* series .
Can you pls help me know if we can by any way find that the phone that flipkart has sold is not a new phone but a refurbished phone which due to some error was returned and again after the issue was resolved sold back.
Any help is appreciated .. thanks in advance.
i want to find a definite way so that i can tell that this is a refurbished phone at the end i can take some action against flipkart.
Collect all the evidence you can find, take some pictures of the scratches, and shoot them an e-mail.
If they still don't respond properly, you could bombard their Helpline numbers.
-sent from my little moto beast
Take it back if your not happy they have no option but to replace with a sealed new one there and then, its either factory damaged or a referb
Hi, this is the situation. I finally managed to brick my Moto G (XT 1063) and there is nothing I can do to get it back (need unavailable single image for bootloader 5.x), so I found a cheap solution to my problem. I decided to buy a damaged Moto G (broken LCD) and get a functional motherboard from it.
However my concern is it's comparability with my phone. I can not only buy XT 1068 (dual sim) since I am in Europe and wonder if it is going to be possible to put it together. I plan to use my housing and all the parts except for motherboard.
So, anyone with some input, possible or not, issues and so on...
Thanks!
Wouldn't it be easier to just replace the screen on the broken one?

In essence that's what I plan to do, my question is, will it fit? Thanks for a reply.
