Hi, this is the situation. I finally managed to brick my Moto G (XT 1063) and there is nothing I can do to get it back (need unavailable single image for bootloader 5.x), so I found a cheap solution to my problem. I decided to buy a damaged Moto G (broken LCD) and get a functional motherboard from it.
However my concern is it's comparability with my phone. I can not only buy XT 1068 (dual sim) since I am in Europe and wonder if it is going to be possible to put it together. I plan to use my housing and all the parts except for motherboard.
So, anyone with some input, possible or not, issues and so on...
Thanks!
Wouldn't it be easier to just replace the screen on the broken one?

In essence that's what I plan to do, my question is, will it fit? Thanks for a reply.

Hi,
My screen has cracked, where can i buy a screen to replace?(i have someone who can replace it)
I have not found on the internet a new screen. I can not post links, so I'll write what I found on the internet.
On cellphones.ca
Question: Where to get new screen for my Motorola Moto G?
Answer: In case anyone else wants this information, if you go to Motorola'll be directed to the SBE repairs sbeglobalservice.com / uk /, who will charge £ 71.40 for an out of warranty repair screen.
I just bought a new Moto G. Does not Seem to be worth all the hassle for a replacement considering the phone's so cheap.
Question: If you have problems with the Motorola Moto G, where can you go for support, replacement or repairs?
Answer: Problems? That sucks! Sorry to hear. If your Motorola Moto G needs a little TLC, you have a couple options. Could you contact the store where you originally You Could Purchased the device or contact Motorola directly. Your eligibility for repair, replacement or support may depend on the warranty period remaining. Good luck!

I'm sorry but this is all I found. I live in Jordan and I have a problem similar to yours. You can try to register on the website of Motorola (forums.motorola . com/pages/home), then register your Moto G and open a new discussion, they could help you.
Helo,
My 1 day old Moto G fell on the ground. Result is that the screen isn't broken, but the right side off the screen doesn't respond anymore and the colors of the screen are also strange...
You can see an image here: http://oi58.tinypic.com/adlrww.jpg
I found a tear down video off the Moto G here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fd3AZSXhOf8
If I buy a new Moto G screen/digitizer like here: http://www.etradesupply.com/motorola-moto-g-lcd-screen-and-digitizer-assembly-black.html
Should this fix my problem?
Greetings,
A disappointing Moto G user

Not sure if a new screen/digitizer will fix your problem but you may want to consider just selling your current phone on ebay and then using the auction funds to purchase a new Moto G since the device is relatively inexpensive. Cracked Moto Gs on ebay seem to be fetching at least $100 or more for the 16 GB version:

No one who already repaired his broken screen?
As was suggested i would put it on ebay and put the money it makes towards a new one.
If you try repairing it you might end up worse off.
Firstly while doing the strip down and repair you might break something else and secondly you might do it correctly and still find out it didn't fix the problem.
So hmm i finally decided to use moto g as my main phone.
Got the nano --> microsim adaptor from a local store.
Inserted the sim. Sim doesnt get detected. Tried removing the sim. STUCK!. I think i broke the simreader pins without even actually using a phone.
I just contacted the motorola people.Too bad my phone is bought from usa and im in india till July. Anyone here has a guide on how to change the sim slot?!? I managed to remove the damn adaptor but i broke the pins so i guess i m screwed.
Same here. I'm going to buy a replacement for the SIM tray off ebay, and have it replaced (guys in my local store said it would cost $13, but another store asked for $20, so the prices may vary). I'm in Poland.
Hi, i have the issue with my moto g. I fix the problem manually using a little piece of metal to make sure that the pin I broke touch the Sim. But that's was my case, I recommend you to go in a technical service, they can put a new sim reader and this cost about 20$.
Motorola already realized that this is a serious problem, because in my Moto G 4G with LTE User Guide they clearly mention on 4th page: "Caution: Make sure you use the correct sized SIM card, and don’t use adapters with it."
How did you do it

Screwed up my MG2013 sim1 with the adaptor, Moto warranty is over and they said no for repair
Tried to find a way out and used a screwdriver to raise the points but the gold points dont read the Sim any which way
I will probably look for a local shop who can replace the reader I guess

Anybody in here actually did this repair? I noticed there are differences between the new tray and my old one.
Hi all,
could somebody help me where can I get a replacement logic board for XT1032? I searched eBay and similar pages and all I found is some Verizon XT1028 and Boost Mobile XT1031 boards for various prices and mostly unknown origin. My model is the 8GB retail UK model but any other motherboards would fit me as long I can put a Hungarian SIM card in it, and the company/seller ships to Hungary.
Cheers!
No one replaced his logic board yet?
Actually i am not a fan of throwing away items if they are repairable.
But i guess that if you find a new logic board somewhere it will cost more than the half of a new Moto g.
Then you can also use the broken Moto G as a spare part for your new one.
You could really not find any Moto G with a broken screen?
Sry for not answering your question

Nope, the replacement screens are pretty cheap and it is easy to get one. On eBay the XT1028 boards are around 35-50 USD and the most expensive Boost Mobile board is around 70 USD, while here in Hungary even the used Moto G devices cost you around 220 USD and if you order from other countries the shipping cost cancels any price difference.
Worst case I get a Verizon board and use it as a development device and use it with wifi
Hi! I currently have a Sony Xperia Z C6606 with Bell, and was wondering if it was worth upgrading or not. My phone have a problem with the earphone jack (only one ear work), and since rainwater got in, the small thing inside the port is now red. Because of that, Bell says that it's water damaged (which is not, as it was working w/o problem until I most likely used too much force with the jack), so now I need to pay 250$+ to get a new phone since mine is not available anymore. That's why I was thinking of either getting a most likely new phone for 250$ or so (I'll ask if it's possible to get a recent phone), or get a phone from China. The phone in question I was thinking about was the Kolina K100+ MTK6592T 2GB Ram IPS FHD for ~170$ CAD. What do you guys think? Go for the new phone for roughly 250$ or get the Chinese one? If I get either, I'll give the Xperia to my dad's wife, so it's a good way to get rid of it. Thanks! ^^
