Try pressing and holding all possible button combinations and see if they get you anywhere. Try plugging the phone into a computer. Try all button combinations while it's plugged in to the computer.
Also if you know how to, check if the computer recognizes the phone in any way (ADB, fastboot, MTP...).
Also what blinking is it?
On the screen? LED? Camera flash?
What colour is it?
What is blinking? An image? Text?

I have the a500kl sometimes at random make strange boot with blinking or other

i have tried that. First key combo brings the phone in fastboot mode and when i try the second key combo its started blinking again.
Not working
I have tried everything you said. It dosen't worked. My device name "ASUS In Search Of Incredible" in the middle, and at bottom "Powered By android" is blinking. There is nothing more.

Get a copy of the stock ROM and try flashing that in fastboot. This *should* fix your problem.

Hi there,
The other day I was on TWRP and tried to flash an ASUS update file (probably didnt really know what I was doing). Anyway, the flash failed.
I then thought I ought to wipe the OS and restore to a backup. I got as far as wiping the OS when the battery died.
The next day I turned the device on and a progress bar appeared but didn't get anywhere. Frustrated, and aiming to reboot into TWRP, I turned off the tablet.
It now will not turn on.
So...Hard brick?
I will have to send this thing off to Asus otherwise.
Many thanks, reply much appreciated.

Bump, any ideas?

Bump. Any quick reply would be welcome, I think I've been a noob so sorry if this thread makes you want to smash your head into the keyboard. I hadn't flashed anything for ages so was a tad rusty.
When I plug the transformer into the computer the led on the power button comes on, but the transformer will not power on.
Any ideas?
Many thanks

You should still be able to get into recovery even with a bad wipe/flash, but your battery is drained. You need to plug it into the wall charger and let it charge and then boot directly into recovery.
Once you are there, you should be able to flash a ROM.
I'll give that a try

Hi there,
I charged the tablet over night and the LED was showing as it was charging.
However, it still will not turn on.
When I connect the tablet to the computer the computer eventually recognizes that something is connected but deems it to be corrupted.
Any ideas?
Many thanks
Did you boot into recovery like I instructed?
Boot into Recovery Mode. You can do this by pressing and holding down the Volume Down and Power buttons until you are greeted with a message saying “Press Volume Up to enter RCK (5S)”. In less than 5 seconds, press the Volume Up button to enter Recovery Mode.

Hi, it will not boot at all.
However, when I plugged it into the computer and did so, the computer made a beeping sound therefore recognizing a device was attached after I had pushed down the power button and volume down. On one occasion, it recognized an asus device was connected, and so I proceeded to install the correct driver and so installed 'asus bootloader' or whatever it was called. This didn't seem to change anything so I deleted the driver intending to install Asus ADB bit so I could perhaps force a boot from the computer. However, after uninstalling the driver the computer stopped recognizing the tablet beyond 'APX'.
Any ideas?
manyt thanks

Great New, I got it working again, Seems like battery life may have been a key issue here. Its loaded up, but got stuck on the blue musical bit and made some horrific beeping noise and keeps rebooting. Any help? I can't seem to get into recovery mode, Maybe thats just my method.
Hello XDA,
i have XCover3 and the device is bricked. When i would boot it only vibrate one time, wont show any light or other, i dont can get in download or recovery menü. The phone was bricked by using kies (firmware update wont finished).
I have read a lot about unbrick via SDCard (debrick.img or SDC), i hope some people have also Xcover3 or a ATF Box and can me create a Image for SDCard.
Thank you XDA

How about vol-down home and power?
So after an weekend i was successful. I don't know if it was my modified img from an 389f or just luck.
The phone didn't show anything. No charging animation, only a black screen. Also with a jig plug it only lighted up a bit, but black screen.
Then i tried my sdcard with the modified imaged.
But i think the main reason is when you press the buttons.
I started up with volume down+home and power. Release it and after a second of black screen i pressed the vol-up key. Suddenly it worked.
The timing is important! Because i was surprised i tried it several times, but only with the right timing i could enter de download mode blindly.

Good Morning,
yesterday when i flashed a rom, something goes wrong.
My opo don't go in boot animation and work only the recovery and fastboot.
I don't know why but afther another reboot the phone is dead, i think that is a normal hard brick so i try to restore with the tool "msm8974 download tool" but it don't work, when i start the restore come out a red word.
I never seen a hard brick like this, the phone is 100% dead , when i press the power button don't vibrates and nothing come out, diplay is black.
What can i do to restore my opo? :crying:
Try Wiping everything from TWRP and try a different ROM.
Another thing to try is connecting ADB to get the logcat.
Can you give more details on what you've tried so far?
Additionally, I remember reading that the OPO can stop booting correctly when the battery starts failing.

Hello, please help. I have a big problem.
I just flashed custom ROM and the installation was successful. When I restarted the phone, it stopped at the "Samsung Galaxy" logo and did not complete and then restarted automatically in this case. I tried to enter twrp, but to no avail. I also tried Entering the download mode, but also it does not work
I hope that someone will help me, and is this how the phone was damaged, or is there hope to recover it?
Try holding power and volume down for over 20 seconds, after the phone reboot keep holding those keys and hope you get into download mode

Unfortunately not, I even tried to enter it into download mode by pressing the volume up and down buttons and then connecting the USB, and it did not work, so I think it may need a board

Honestly, no, I haven't tried jaw before But I waited until the battery ran out and tried again to insert the download, but it didn't work either,,, I have a question I first formatted and then installed the ROM, then it succeeded, but after the word “installation was successful” there were words in red “failed mount system root” Then I flashed the rest of the ROM files, then I thought it was over, so I restarted, but it stopped at the "samsung galay - secured by Knox" logo. It does not continue and then restarts itself in this case and does not stop until the battery runs out and stops then I tried to enter the recovery but to no avail and also the same thing with the download mode,, summarizing all this does the phone need a motherboard, or that the matter can be solved?

It can be solved. It doesn't need a motherboard.
Try Chimera tool. It can fix dead boot. You may need to short test point of your phone so that the software recognises your phone.
