Devilcase Lens Protector - Xperia Z5 Accessories

Xperia Z5 lens cover is made of plastic and is easily scratched as shown in this Z5 Premium scratch test video: https://youtu.be/X4mORf5BhzQ
I have found this Devilcase Lens Protector: http://www.lazada.com.ph/sony-xperia-z5-amp-z5-compact-devilcase-lens-protector-2939009.html
Sample installation can be seen here: https://vimeo.com/127572598
Since our lens cover is practically flushed to the back cover, I feel the need to protect it. I will be placing an order for this one. I'll try to compare if image quality will be affected. Is anyone else using this?
Update 1:
What's in the box:
- (3) laser-cut lens protector
- Tweezer

Findings:
Honestly, I can't notice any image quality degradation. I haven't tried image comparisons yet because afaik it's visually the same with or without the lens protector. I only have one spare lens protector left (got clumsy and lost one), so I don't wanna do further test like scratch-test, etc. For me, it's definitely worth it and a must-have. [emoji106]
Update 2:
Here's the specification for the lens protector:
DEVILCASE 7H Lens Protector for TPS
Material: PET

I used nilkin lens protector with my old Z3 . and yes image quality is dropping around 30% .
so now I never use lens protector for my Z5 Premium.
*edit brand of lens protector is nillkin

Its a good thing to have mostly if you don't use phone case. =)
Is the material the same as the one used on screen protectors?
From the video it seems that material is made from polycarbonate and after it was applied on iPhone, lens doesn't look as pristine as the lens itself.
I might need that installed as i frequently go outdoor and requires additional protection against lens scratches.

I have bought one of these since I see it, before I had a Z1 and the lens get scratched, it was impossible to take photos with low light because the light looks so blurry, so I bought these, so far I didn't notice drop in the quality of the photos, I highly recommend this product

I use Ringke casing but like all other cases, the lens is still very prone to a lot of hostiles due to the case opening at the lens area. With or without a case, this 'missing' protection is a necessity.

What have you bought?

Hey guys, am wondering what accessories you have bought for your R7Plus.
I came across with nice aluminium frame with back cover - got two for 5 euros with postage included (Black Friday deal), I could not resist really
I am very surprised by build quality. The frame is CNC`ed and polished to very high standard and it fits the phone perfrectly. It also has soft pads inside the frame to avoid scratch/damage the phone. The back cover is only plastic with mirror finish. Still looks like metal though.

I've bought a Nillkin H+ Anti-Explosion glass screen protector. I didn't like it because it didn't cover the whole front screen so I came back to plastic film.
I haven't still found a "perfect fit" protector to my phone. Is there a challenge to make a perfect fit screen protector for Oppo R7plus?
Have you found a good glass screen protector anywhere? What is the size of the protector you found?

The one it came fitted on screen was alright I think, still not fully covering the screen as I remember. I took it off screen anyway and I do not use any screen protector in the moment and not even thinking to buy one as my last experience with it was the screen was LESS responsive when fitted. This was on OnePlus One.

Looks nice, how does it feel, do you notice the added size or weight to the phone?
Phone is big enough as it is, but if the protection doesn't feel too clumsy, I would consider it.
How about make a beautifull slim phone look thicker
I have bought xtremeguard screen cover and i´m very satisfied although it was a bitt tricky to apply, i messed up the first attempt so be sure to follow instructions.

I have this one and it covers the whole screen.
Flipview case, anyone know if this will work with CM13
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252449007176
I have the same aluminium frame with back cover but in black. I don't use it because i have GPS reception difficulties. You confirm ?
I was given the oppo car fast charger, its really very good. But if your planning on using maps, music and charger at the same time I recommend a phone holder that attaches to your cars air-conditioning vent to keep it cool other wise phone will be boiling and switch off fast charge.

My camera lens got worse lately and I believe that I messed up the original Olephobic coating on the lens with some Alcohol I use to clean my phone. Really sad that the phone produces blurry images and I resorted to ultimately cleaning off the original olephobic coating with regular Colgate toothpaste(the white one) just to restore the clean and clear lens for producing nice pictures. My only worry now is that since it doesn't have any olephobic coating now, it is more prone to scratches and fingerprints.
Wouldn't be better to just use a case?

I would think not, it would make no difference in terms of lens resistance to scratches . Just that it would be more prone to fingerprints and you'd end up cleaning it more often which would lead to more scratches.

Screen protector on rear Camera of Honor 8

Hi all,
I've recently purchased a Honor 8 and started using it, I have a front screen protector with case on it, but one thing I'm a bit worried about probably because it's new is the rear camera being so exposed/flat.
I have a few spare screen protectors, will it harm my phone/camera if I cut a screen protector in half and apply it over the top half of my phone (just above fingerprint sensor to top of phone (camera))?
Many thanks.
It will not harm your camera, but I think applying a protector on the camera will decrease the quality of the pictures.
Can you test the difference of quality with/without screen protector on the camera lens and share your experience ?
I have a screen protector over my rear camera lenses which I had cut from a spare Galaxy S3 screen protector I had. What I did since my device is in a protected case was to cut a piece large enough to cover the camera lens and apply to said areas and then put I to the phone case. It has not impaired the quality of my photos.
Just make sure surface is free from grease and dirt and when applied no air bubbles over the main area of the camera lens..
With screen protector on rear

Without screen protector on rear
As it's a brand new phone, it has just been factory reset, those pictures have been taken without any tweaking of settings.
I'd say there is a considerable difference in colour and sharpness at the least.
That doesn't bother me with the small change of photo quality IMHO...
Any others care to share their views here? What would you do, sacrifice the picture quality for protection of the rear camera lens, or do you think it is safe enough?
I'm coming from a HTC One M9, and one of the key reasons I went for the Honor 8 was for the Camera and as you can see above, it's great picture quality.
Personally, after doing the comparison I'd really like to leave it off.
Also, isn't the screen protectors more prone to dust, smudges, fingerprints, oil ect..

I think the picture without screen protector is a little more sharp. Moreover I agree that the screensaver will get scratches and figerprints. With a proper case ( for example a silicon case you can find on ebay ), the lenses are not touching if you lay the phone on a flat surface. So i guess you don't risk much : I mean, even if the lenses eventually get small scratches, the quality would still be better than with a screensaver.

Nubia Tempered Glass

I ordered the Tempered glass from NubiaMart - took a while to arrive, but now that it has, I was impressed to see it's actually made by Nubia.
The quality is very good and the package includes a plastic trim that's used to help guide the glass when installing it so that it lines up perfectly.
There a warning/recommendation to re-learn your fingerprints after installing a screen protector - unfortunately, this is the biggest flaw with the glass.
The fingerprint sensor on the 5G is finicky to begin with (the first software update improved it a bit) but with the glass installed the fingerprint sensor has become pretty much un-useable. I can only hope a future update will improve the sensor further to allow it to work with the glass installed.
Update: rebooted the phone and re-learned fingerprints again - went a bit better and working about the same as before...
where did you buy the glass? I was hoping that the fingerprint would work so how many times do you need to press your thumb in order to unlock it?
I purchased from nubiamart.com
They now have other screen protector options available for the 5G, but I purchased this one:
https://www.nubiamart.com/original-...d-glass-protective-film-screen-protector.html
Fingerprint detection is still hit and miss - sometimes it'll work immediately, other times not at all. I'm not sure if it's a matter of finger positioning or pressure or star alignment...

I got a glass screen protector with the device from Cect-shop and had the same issue.
Lots of air bubbles yet I believe I did a good job of fitting!
It ended up cracking in two places, I have no idea how. Just took the phone out my pocket and it was cracked.
Anyway, I bought the following case and got a free glass screen protector.
It fitted "almost" perfectly, one small air bubble in the bottom left (off the screen itself and on the chin).
Pretty happy with it to be honest and the case is fantastic quality.

for the fingerprint, i figured out that if you learn your fp while using the provided film it works great, but once you apply the glass it will not work, so by simply relearning the fingerprints will do the job.. =)

Question S22 ultra, camera lens protector does affect image quality?

Hi guys i have a question S22 ultra camera lens protector does affect image quality? Anyone have done comparision? Do you have pictures? Have a nice weekend.
Yes it will degrade the image; refraction, ghosting, and possibly other optical anomalies.
The phone already has a lense protectors built into the rear cover. They are replaceable if damaged. Use a case with a raised guard to protect them. Clean with a dry microfiber cloth.
Would you recommend any good case? Spigen thin fit is fine?

Zizo Bolt, excellent drop protection, doesn't attract dirt, grippy, easy to clean.
The screen protector may be a toss, don't know.
The case kick stand tends to break but doesn't effect protection. It all I use on my N10+'s, zero damage. It will soak up a 2-4 foot concrete corner hit with ease. Good spen corner protection.
Thx for reply, im looking for something not that fancy looking. Actually im using spigen thin fit with esr lens protector and im just thinking about removing esr. Im just curious if thin fit from spigen is enought to cover and protect camera lenses well.

Forget how it looks. That's a very heavy phone that loves to corner hit when dropped and face plant. The Bolt isn't that thick and easy to hold.
It won't come apart in a multiple impact drop.
It protects the mobo, cams, etc from damaging high G loads. Hasn't marred my frame rails in over 2 years of use... I live in the desert and it's dusty.
I have the spigeon and it's pretty decent but I think the TORRAS Clear case is much more protection and is more comfortable in the hands. It feels literally like air bags. Camera protection is good with that case too. I only use spigeon for the kickstand. For screen protectors I find the EGV Screen protectors to be the best out of all the ones I've found. As of right now I'm not using a screen protector because all of them have a negative effect on spen performance or cause issues when swiping text on keyboard. The screen feels very good to the touch when it's naked.
I Don't see any differences with or without lenses.
Will try in the night too.

I used mocolo camera protect in Note 9 and photo quality were worse. Next i tryied protect cameras island in Fold 2 and too i saw worse photo quality, especially in evening or night.
So now i don't use any camera protection and i am happy with full photo quality without scratichng on the camera island/lenses.
I use the ESR lens protectors. No issues in 3 months, day or night. There are reviews on Youtube comparing the lens covers with and without and results are exactly the same.
Yes it affect image quality. Not so much but still affect.

From my personal experience, the lens protections aren't altering a lot the pictures quality, if they do, it's so slight that I've never noticed anything that would make me suspicious.

Try shooting at the longest telephoto setting with and without a camera lens protector. You'll see differences.
I got these and I have not noticed any degradation in image quality. Sorry if that defies your physics. I've taken shots of the moon that don't look any different before I had the camera protectors on the phone. None of the photos I've taken show any artifacts.
I don't like scratches on my camera glasses, and I don't think it's not cheap to replace them either once scratched.

Are they coated with an anti reflective coating to prevent ghosting? What about flaring?
Is the protector perfectly flat?
Otherwise it will cause optical aberrations.
Even if all the above conditions aren't a concern you will create refraction that doesn't need to be in the optical pathway. That will degrade the image in itself.
There's no sense in protecting the lense protector with a second one
Guard it with a case only.
You paid big bucks for this cam system that was carefully engineered. Why screw that up with unnecessary add ons?

I feel you. I hate when my phone gets marred.
This heavily N10+ is almost 3 yo and lives in the dusty desert. Not even a micro scratch on the lense protector that I can spot. Like on the S22U it's part of the rear cover. Sold separately too I believe.
The S22U is 30gm heavier than N10+, it's not going to like getting dropped. The only thing the N10+ likes to do more then corner hit when dropped is face plant. I use the Zizo Bolt, the phone is still in perfect condition. Without it this N10+ be toast.
Worry about and protect the stuff that's expensive and hard to replace; display, frame, and mobo.
For me personally it dose especially with the 10x .. but i rather lose quality then it breaks so
