Hey folks need some help. Just got this device. Actually love what HTC did on the software side so Upon booting it updated to 6.01 yay...but I am a tmobile user and I am getting only H+ and for my cavelike apartment I need wifi calling but the menu is just not present. For those that are using this device on the t mobile network how has your experience been and have you found the menu for wifi calling. I have delved all over and cannot find it. Also I was under the impression that this device supports LTE for tmobile. Any guidance would be appreciated!

Hi All,
I took unlocked phone HTC Inspire 4G from AT&T. I recently updated to Andriod version 2.3.3. I am not able to find Network type selection like GSM/WCDMA etc.. under Mobile network because of this I am not getting 3G speeds even 3G is enabled on my phone.
It is showing 'E' icon on the phone instead of 'H'.
When contacted HTC they are telling that the device built in a way that it selects 2G/3G based on the availability but it is not showing 3G even though it is available.
The device is not yet rooted. Is there any way to get this option without rooting device?
Thanks in advance,
Vamsi
If you don't have that option here:
homescreen > menu button > settings > wireless & networks > mobile networks > network mode
then you are not in a 3G area.
I have a feeling this has to do with hardware frequencies. This is me just guessing. You bought an unlocked inspire to use on a different carrier. If your in the us with tmo your stuck on edge. If your using this phone outside northamerica your stuck on edge. The rest of the world uses different frequencies. No way to change it unless you change phones
Have u tried dialing *#*#4636#*#* & choosing the option that way?

Are you having network problems? eg Generic Network Failure. or problems with MMS?
Using *#*#4636#*#* did not help to set network mode on HTC Inspire 4g

Hi, I tried this option and set the network mode to "GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)". I turned off and turned on the radio also. I even tried a restart of the device ( HTC Inspire 4g ATT ). But I still get connected to 2G networks only
Can you please help if there is any other way out ? Did anyone get to resolve this issue ?
Need help?

Hey people,
So this is a pretty specific problem, maybe someone has experienced it or can figure it out.
I can't seem to get my 4g working on my nexus 5. I've tried in the middle of Melbourne city and I get nothing even though I used to get plenty of signal on my S3 with LTE. I called Virgin mobile (my carrier) and they couldn't figure it out (typical). They said 4g was activated on their end and that all my APN settings seemed correct. But still no 4g
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Hmmm, I'm on T-mobile, so I don't know for sure if there's any similarity, but when I first popped a new SIM card into my nexus 5, I wasn't getting LTE right away. I ended up going into the network settings and playing around with the Network Mode (switching to 3g and then back to LTE), as well as reloading the network operators. After a couple minutes of doing that it clicked and everything has been fine since then.

For anyone who's interested, the tech team at virgin were able to sort it out. I'll post a link to their support pages:

Hi All,
My wife and I both recently got (ex-demo) Bell HTC One S phones. We had them unlocked by cellunlocker.net for use on Rogers network in Ottawa. We followed directions given by Rogers support staff entering the APN settings. My wife's phone seems to work ok, occasionally picking up 3G (never LTE) coverage.
My phone however, seems to only pick up Edge (mostly) and occasionally G network connections. Never 3G or LTE. I cannot send MMS messages and my mobile data is extremely slow (as you would expect on Edge network)!!
I have phoned Rogers multiple times, bought a new SIM which made no difference. I am starting to beat my head against the wall.
Does anyone know why this may be happening or can suggest a fix??
Cheers,
I fixed the issue with a hard reset. Not sure what was actually causing it!!?

Help! Our "unlocked" Sprint Galaxy 7's won't do wifi calling with our new provider!
We have 2 Sprint Galaxy S7's, GSM-930P. Never set up wifi calling on sprint but had an icon for it and they were always asking me to set it up. Switched to Mint mobile which works on Tmobile's network. When on wifi at home or work can't send or receive MMS, pictures, but turn wifi off and the pictures go or download. Never had this problem before. Have wifi turned on through our provider and there is a greyed out wifi callng icon at the top of screens next to signal strength and wifi icon.
They say I have to turn it on in our phones for it to work properly but that setting isn't in any of our menus. I've found other threads talking about it being gone on sprint phones but the phone is capable of wifi calling from what I've found. I found one post somewhere about someone "flashing" their phone with the tmobile software or something and it working. On Mint mobile's site they have a list of compatible phones and our IMEI isn't listed as being compatible? It's so confusing and frustrating. I know these phones are capable of wifi calling and think that it would make our phones work better if we changed some things up. I'm trying to figure all of this out but not sure how to do it or who to listen to online. I would appreciate any help you could offer. Thank you!
