Factory reset kept all data - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I have an odd problem. I did a factory reset on my nexus 5. This removed all the apps and all the account sign ins, but it literally kept all my music, all my photos, all my documents. I was baffled as this never happened to any other phone to me. I didn't use any software to retrieve it, all that was literally just there as if I never did a factory reset.
Relevant info maybe: I bought the phone rooted but didn't do anything with it, so I'm doubting its this but idk.

[Q] Main Google account sign in error - solution other than reseting all data?

So I popped in another SIM to my phone temporarily, and in the process when I got my own back in, everything was fine EXCEPT
all my google accounts would not sign in, and would not accept their passwords. Strangely, 2/3 of them would not accept their password even on the pc in the browser. I briefly considered that I had been compromised but the timing is way too suspect with this never having happened before (the problem AND switching SIMs)
I reset those 2, and got them working on both the phone and pc browser again, on the phone only by deleting the accounts and re-adding them.
However, the remaining account (which I could always login on pc browser) will still not accept the password on the phone.
Because it is the main google account, it cannot be deleted on the phone except through a factory data reset.
I REALLY don't want to have to go through all that hassle of reconfiguring a million things just because something bugged out during switching SIMs.
How can I fix this without wasting my evening reseting settings and redownloading apps?
is data enabled on the phone? cuz if not it will give such errors. settings>wireless. data

mobile data has always been disabled on this phone; since day 1.
why would it being disabled suddenly cause a problem now?
I don't pay for any data, so what exactly are you proposing I do?
fixed it.
was related to 2 step verification crap. turned it all off and worked again.

[Q] Urgent, device random reset wipe

I was sitting with some friends and was using snapchat with a friend, all of a sudden the device decided to restart itself
and I found myself seeing the factory reset menu when you start a fresh device.
Is this curable? I would really hate to lose all my stuff on the phone.

Samsung s6 games installed after reset

Since my other thread didn't any answer I want to give another try before confirming that the community is dead.

I noticed that everytime I reset my phone it automatically installed a couple of games, and this time pandora app also. The weird thing is I went through the phone initial setup without sign in google play store or samsung.
It is kind of bother me somewhat.
Does anyone know how they get installed ?

I believe it is caused by BY Ignite, since I've deleted it I don't get any game installs upon factory reset.
How do you delete ignite when it is automatically install as part of the factory reset?
Do you mean right after factory reset ?
I've had to factory reset a few times for different reasons. I'm rooted and deleted BT Ignite as soon as I did and deleted all games, and after factory reset no new games or apps were installed. If you're rooted delete it or rename it so it can't run. If not rooted you can disable it With a few different apps.

Samsung Galaxy S III I535 (VZW) Dead or fixable?

So I have had my phone for about 4 years. Over the years I have done allot to it. It has been rooted and working fine up until two nights ago when it started randomly rebooting itself. Then it stopped all of a sudden and returned to normal. The next night I was getting ready for work and I turned on my phone as I was leaving the house and it made it to the Samsung logo then after 15 seconds or so tried entering recovery mode. It then failed the bootloader authentication and said I had an unauthorized third party program I stalled that wasn't supported. After many attempts at following the forum suggestions of trying to recover through Odin it finally gave me something. It went to a window that said the partition was currupted and wanted to restore to factory settings. I hit this button and it just hangs there and doesn't even attempt to restore it to factory. The button seems unresponsive.
My main concern is that I lost all my contacts because I already had to go buy a new phone. My question... is there any hope to restore the bootloader to try to get it to boot up normally? I don't care if it is restored to factory settings. I hear there are still ways to recover contacts and deleted data after a factory reset. But my main concern is recovering my contacts which I can't do until my phone is working. Any input?
The phone is fixable. The contacts are probably gone tho. It's always a good idea to store your contacts to google instead of just the device. That way you always have them no matter what phone/device you are using.

If you had your google account there and sync was on so probably all your contacts are saved at google account.
Login with your google account and try opening this link and see https://www.google.com/contacts/u/0/

I found this video on youtube
is this a good thing to try?
It won't be easy, here's someone that just did it successfully:

Hi, I recently did a factory reset on my old tablet. Upon starting it now shows "An unauthorized attempt has been made to reset your device to factory settings". It then asks for a google account to verify. I have entered ALL google accounts I...
