Is camera a must? If it's not I would recommend the Kindle Fire. If camera is a must I have an HTC Flyer and I am very pleased with it.
u know now a days kids they need to capture anything and everything
thats y asked for playbook or iball. btw doing a search and seems iball is pretty impressive .

You could place the Acer Iconia a100, a200, etc. (there are other variants) into consideration.

I saw on slickdeals yesterday that the HTC Flyer can be had for $149.
Blasphemy, but I would actually get him the iPad2 wifi only edition which iirc goes for 399 now that the iPad3 is out. The kids love the Apple stuff and all their friends have apple, etc etc. There is a South Park episode called the Human CentiPad which speaks to this issue.

I must say , if your kid play games alot , this tablet will be for him . It wouldn't be that bad . Running games such as 'Temple Run ' will be as of no lags for him . C:
i do have an Ipad 2 but now theres a war over it as that was bought for the elder one. so just to peace things , i want something but worth for the second.
games liked by kiddo are temple run( i too like it , angry birds , all action arcade games
thats why was wondering if hcl can handle it
@sky plz check iball slide too and let me know . will be obliged
@Kratos , it is another tablet similar , but it's better . Because this processor can play games even better than that processor . I think you should buy iBall Slide .

get him a gaming tablet
get him a gaming tablet. for 50 dollars to 200 dollars you can get one with a very decent resistive screen or a badass capactivive screen. I was going to buy one of these before I bought an icontrolpad for my samsung fascinate:
JXD601
dingoo-scene.blogspot.com/2012/01/new-videos-of-jxd-601-in-action.html
Ydpg16 from Yinlips:
willgoo.com/yinlips-ydpg16-android23-retro-handheld-wifi-preorder-p-196.html
These two are the base sub-$120 dollar models with resistive screens. There's tons of user forums and stuff for them and they run n64, ps1, all emulators and android games and they both come with a cortex a8 and 1 year old hardware.
There's an awesome $200 version of both of these that have capactivite screens. I'm 24 and if I had kids that played video games I would definitely introduce them into this field. There's a modding community for both devices if you want to stick with android.
thanks mate, it looks like a psp and i already have one
jxd.hk/products.asp?id=604&selectclassid=009006
that one has a capacitive screen, supports ics and has all the bells and whistles of the higher end chinese tabs. performance is similar to the galaxy s.
If you have a decent budget to work with and it seems like you do, I recommend the newest galaxy tablet or pretty much anything with a samsung screen

While I've been looking for cheaper android tv boxes for iptv for friends, I can say without a doubt Nvidia Shield is by far the best. I've had mine since 2015, and the newer 2017 model is shrunk down same innards. 3gb ram, Nvidia Tegra processor is the best on it. Netflix full 4K HDR support officially. Official real android TV that receives updates all the time (Currently they are intentionally waiting to release Android Oreo on it as launcher is not good yet and are working with Google on that, but it's pretty solid with Marshmallow official androidtv version). Amazon Prime 4K HDR built in (first android tv to get it officially actually).
HDR support on every app Except Youtube... simply because Youtube uses a different Codec VP9 that requires a specific chip that came out after Shield was released. I'm using PerfectPlayer for IPTV on it now and it's really impressive with customized hardware decoding. Kodi runs great on it too when I tried it. Not sure about Showbox but do keep in mind the Google Play Store on official Android TV is limited to Apps that developers specifically support TV interface on. You can easily use your phone or browser to get the APK and install it on the Shield though if you can't find it in store. They call this sideloading and it works great once you figure out how. I personally use Solid Explorer on both Shield and my phone and find apk in the app on my phone, then copy it over the network to my Shield Network Shared folder (officially supported), then open it on Shield and install it.)
Keep in mind Nvidia shield will work with anything bluetooth and it does support Android TV Remote app so you can control and type from your phone. 2 USB 3.0 ports so you can even connect older xbox 360 controllers if you have pc dongle, etc..
Problem I'm seeing with every other Android TV Box is they're all Android Phone version with an added UI to make it look like Android TV, and I really feel like most of them won't get updated and might freeze if you push it with limited RAM and chinese-made processors. Official Android TV FTW. Honorable mention from research not experience - Xiaomi Mi Box, built in Android TV on non samsung/nonlg tvs... especially on Sony Android TV.
I have a very simple box, but very good for streaming MXQ PRO. Very inexpensive - $35. I got it from AMTRADE TV Boxes
I've just purchased a new box from China that I'm waiting delivery on. I had help from Robert Joseph of ghostware. He's awesome.
This is the info and specs on it. Like I said it has everything I want and even a little more with the extra hard drive space for which I've ordered a 240gig SSD drive from Amazon.
I got the version with 4 gigs of RAM and 64 gigs of hard drive space. And it's pretty much dirt cheap for one of the best hardware setups on the market. Only about 65 US dollars.
These are some more of its specs. The gigabit Ethernet port is just as important as everything else. Especially if you have a fast connection like I do. You don't want to be limited to a hundred megabits.
I followed the advice SdM123, and I must say that Sidiwen A95X MAX TV Box Android 8.1 4GB RAM 64GB ROM Amlogic S905X2 Quad Core Dual WIFI 2.4G / 5G Ethernet is one of the best 0 buffering problems. I am satisfied with the purchase and thank SdM123 for pointing it out.
Cool
Which streaming device has the most internal storage?
Hi guys, what do you think of switchonshop.com ? I think to buy there, but I do not know if it is worth it.
At SwitchOnShop.com. I saw a set top box model MAG425A. Has anyone used such a model?
Hero buying advice needed: MXQ PRO 4K VS Scishion V99? New to android boxes, I'm from London and it seems like there are some boxes which aren't available on UK sites for some reason, so was hoping this is the right place to get advice on the boxes I am looking at.
I am looking to stream content in 1080p (I'm happy with the resolution so don't plan on buying a new tv just yet) and started off looking at cheap £15 boxes on ebay which have 1GB of RAM thinking it would be good enough to stream 1080p. But since I am looking for the best value per £ I decided to look at boxes around the £45 mark:
- £46 SCISHION V99 - hero 64Bit Octa Core Android 5.1 (BT4.0 Dual WiFi) 4GB RAM+32GB TV Box EU, Octa Core,1.5GHz CPU RK3368, GPU PowerVR G6110, Processor ARM Cortex A53
- £45 H96 MAX - H2 TV Box RK3328 Android 7.1 (2.4G + 5G Wi-Fi BT 4.0 4K) 4G RAM+32GB UK PLUG, Quad Core CPU Cortex A53, GPU Mali-450, Processor RK3328.
- £46 MXR PRO 4K 4GB RAM + 32G 64Bit Android 7.1 Quad-core RK3328 2.0GHz Bluetooth Quad-core RK3328 64-bit Cortex A53 and Mali-450 GPU.
- I was also considering: £23 M8S PRO W Android 7.1 Smart TV Box Amlogic S-905W 2GB+16GB Mali-450 4K WIFI OTA, max up to 2.0Ghz, but the price has been varying a bit. I would still consider it if it is better value though (and if it came back down in price a bit) due to it being up to 2.0Ghz? Is 2GB RAM enough to smoothly play 1080p?
1) Should I go for the SCISHION V99 due to the octa core to futureproof? From what I've read no apps take advantage of octa core. Would it help with streaming 1080p? Or should I go for the MXR pro because the seller seems to be saying it is up to 2.0 GHz (although when I googled the chip it said 1.5 GHz?) Help needed with pros and cons, as well as discussion on the GPU/CPU power comparisons?
2) The V99 only has Android 5.1, does that mean eventually all apps will stop being compatible, making the box obsolete? Is there no way whatsoever to upgrade to latest android?
3) I am looking to use as a back up as a mini PC, would I be able to plug in a normal PC USB keyboard and mouse or am I restricted to wireless?
4) If that is the case, I was looking at this and again need advice if it these type of products work well: Black Wireless Keyboard 2.4G Touchpad Handheld Keyboard for PC Android TV UK | eBay
5) These type of small Chinese manufacturers are said to not release updates to firmware (as opposed to amazon fire, chromecast etc) but what does this mean practically speaking? How is this different to being able to update the android version for example?
I want to buy a Ridaex tv, which model should i buy? I saw few reviews of Ridaex tv on quora are they true?

Ridaex has 3 series
1. RE Series ( Android smart TV) - Android 4.4.4 version
2. Desi Series (non smart TV)
3. Nuke Series ( Android smart TV) - Android 7.1 nougat
If you want to buy ridaex tv go for Ridaex Nuke Android smart tv, because it is the latest product of ridaex.
Ridaex is available in 3 models
1. Ridaex Nuke 32 inch
2. Ridaex Nuke 43 inch
3. Ridaex Nuke 50 inch
4. Ridaex Nuke 55 inch
I am using ridaex nuke 50 inch model from last year, till date it is working smoothly.
The picture quality is very good, it is bliss to watch the 4K videos which are sharp and with perfect color balance. As it runs on Android 7.1 nougat it supports all the latest games available on the google play store.
I knew that the software is up-gradable but the installation person said that the hardware is also up-gradable. As it has a 2 GB RAM, in upcoming versions if they launch 4 GB RAM i can get it upgraded. I was very much impressed about knowing this.
