So what does that mean in English? What differences will I experience? I want to root my Z5 Compact with the latest OS - haven't found a tutorial.

If you flash a Z5 firmware to your z5 compact it will be bricked
Since the devices are similar root methods are the same
Certain tools/software im not sure truly if they look for spesific things but if you are going to try something including a kernel then use fastboot boot before fastboot flash
Also you cant root without a unlocked bootloader

Is there a z5 compact firmware I need? I'm not keen on all the terminology. I rooted my 2013 moto x just fine, but I don't want to mess this up.

Why do you keep inventing more and more ROMs rather clean and repair the official's your "creations" is only for trivial number of users.
Do something useful for others rather than for themselves.
Nobody's no wonder.!!!!
And CWM for Locked BL? Nothing?
So I need to unlock BL to enter recovery? And Play answer me, does phantom kernel break WiFi?

WiFi's now fixed in phantom kernel. And yes you need to unlock your bootloader in order to flash the kernel.

No. Won't be available due to bug in CWM in BL. Developers have tried already.

Then why don't you give us one without errors ? Don't be arrogant, people are working here on their own time to give us better ROMs, they don't get paid for what they do. And why don't you learn english when posting on enslishspeaking forum ? 37 years and still sounding like spoiled kinder garden bratt.
Hi,
I'm having serious trouble with my Xperia L. I was intending to install a Kit Kat ROM, but after I unlocked BootLoader, as expected, it goes stuck in bootloop, however I can't open recovery mode either.
Even when I try to relock the phone using Flashtool, it keeps on bootloop.
I also tried to flash the original ROM using Flashtool but it didn't work. To do so I used the firmware from XperiaFirm.
I followed the instructions below (fourth step) to unlock the bootloader.

Did I brick the phone?
Try With Xperia CompaƱion

Check the original Android development thread. Only thing is, it will permanently break Samsung pay. So if you use that, do not flash twrp.

1) There are numerous threads on how to do this, look in my signature for one of them
2) No, not data service but if you use the jio4call (Voice call over data app, might be off on the exact name) it will fail unless you rootcloak it
3) The current one, Squid kernel is super stable
4) No... Never accept an OTA update when rooted, it will softbrick and unless you know what to do it can be frustrating. You can always restore the pre-root backup (make one and keep it safe) or flash the full image if/when it becomes available.
@acejavelin thx ace for reply , can u post me a link to xposed frame for this device?

Actually no, I can't... I haven't used Xposed for years and never will again. You will find It with Google as fast as I could.
TBH, I'd rather use a custom ROM with the options I want over Xposed any day.

Is marshmallow recovery compatible with nougat, or we will have to wait for custom one ?
Most recoveries should be compatible but the Z5 doesnt have a normal bootloader meaning we have to wait for a custom kernel or use a outdated tool and hope it works in repacking the kernel
