Xperia Z5 E6653 Nougat Recovery - Xperia Z5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is marshmallow recovery compatible with nougat, or we will have to wait for custom one ?

Most recoveries should be compatible but the Z5 doesnt have a normal bootloader meaning we have to wait for a custom kernel or use a outdated tool and hope it works in repacking the kernel

Do you mean you want to install a custom ROM? If so just follow the guid here: (http://www.teamandroid.com/2014/07/10/install-android-444-cm11-m8-xperia-z1-kitkat-custom-rom/) replacing CyanogenMod with your chosen wrom
Yup. I mean install custom ROM. Before I do with my device become rooted access. Should I have CWM recovery in my device??

i think the safest way is to flash D6603_23.0.A.2.93 firmware with flashtool, root it with giefroot, install xzdualrecovery and after that flash the ROM you want with recovery.
I did it the way I explained before, strange

If you flash a Z5 firmware to your z5 compact it will be bricked
Since the devices are similar root methods are the same
Certain tools/software im not sure truly if they look for spesific things but if you are going to try something including a kernel then use fastboot boot before fastboot flash
Also you cant root without a unlocked bootloader

Is there a z5 compact firmware I need? I'm not keen on all the terminology. I rooted my 2013 moto x just fine, but I don't want to mess this up.

E6653 Roms on E6633

Hello all,
I know this was asked before and I understand that the Sim card detection will not work. Is there a way, a zip file to flash or script to run to make flashing e6653 ROMS work on e6633 tho?
It might a drivers issue, but still I'd like to ask.
Thank you all.
You can try this, it's new mod but I didn't try it yet.
