There are several choices available for capturing youtube video, but I was wanting something more universal, something like the Download helper firefox add-on.
i dont believe there is one. sorry
Yeah. I'm figuring that out. Seems weird.

I was going to suggest ShootMe, because it has a screencast feature that records the activity of the screen in a video format (in which you could start the service, put the video full screen, and trim the video as necessary), but I don't think it'll capture sound.
Hi everyone,
I am still using the original LG firmware 2.3.5 (I have my screen full of bad pixels, will send it the service, so no custom firmware yet for me). I just brought a HDMI cable today, pluged it into my TV and big dissapointment, what i see is the native 480x800 resolution scaled up to full HD does any know if there is some option to output the youtube full hd videos in actuall full hd ? (i saw the Optimus 2X on youtube, there the phone screen said "displaying on secondary screen" and on the TV it was full hd. Did anyone try the HDMI, any luck, is there any solution here or just this clone display with a choppy scaled up output? Maybe cyanogen or some other custom firmware support/will support this?
Thank you.
mine is in automatic, u can try any option from hdmi settings, last time I checked i just needed to rotate the phone to get a full hd

Thank you for the idea, i allready tried it (automatic, and when the video starts rotated my phone to landscape, then even tried rotating to landscape before the video started ... ), but it's still the same, the video plays on my mobile screen too but that is upscaled to the TV (btw, the TV states at the hdmi info that the input is [email protected] - so the automatic detection works). And i do tried it with a full hd clip from youtube, played the same clip on my computer and of course the quality difference is clear. The same goes for the photos i made with my phone, when scaled up on the TV they look like they ware made by a 0.3 pixel camera, so poor quality with the upscale (and yes, the images are good quality, copied them to my computer and hdmi to the tv and they are excelent). So my dear LG,LG,LG ... what to do with you

Can i ask where u bought this cable hopefully not the chinese crap
only 1 that will work properly (Full HD Quality 2D and 3D Image on 720P) is the original cable. Ebay or similar websites sell the cable search for:
LG DHC-N100
I dont know what country u are from so have a look on ebay.com its 20$ but have a look for your country first could be cheaper!

from a mobile phone service, and yes, it's LG DHC N100 acording to the label, it was 10 Euro. and like i said, the TV states that the input is [email protected], so in theory it should work.
But may i ask, when you play a youtube clip, the phone displays the clip in it's 480x800px resolution and in parallel the tv displays it in full HD (or the phone doesn't display anything when the TV displays it in full HD)?
Or maybe in the latest 2.3.5 update is not working properly any more?
i think the issue is the vids from youtube, you're not seeing them in 1080 cause of being watched on a mobile device, try to download youtube mate dl a vid in 720 at least and check again in your tv, also have u checked the channel's info ??? does it say 480p/i???
will try to upload one later today
The only way of displaying full hd on your tv is playing videos with the video player.Everything else (youtube app for example) will not be displayed on full dh unfortunately
Hm, reset to defaults seems to solved the problem, and indeed only local content with video player is transmited in hd/full hd, however the quality is not perfect, when i play the same content from my computer compared to the phone's output there is a BIG difference ... i guess this is what the developers from Cyanogen refered to when they sait they have increased the maximum bitrate of the codecs ... what the phone outputs indeed seems like a lowered quality, so hopfully a new rom in the future will some this. LG could really pay a bit more to the developers to make something good, since the hardware in this phone is quite good, it's a shame that a poorly configured rom brings it down ...
Well, that's all folks,
Thank you everyone for your help.
I had same problem (still do), tried an app to set dpi higher to get higher resolution on phone but that just made me have to format it (was unstable). might work with a different firmware or something who knows.
ATM i'm trying to set up like a dual display but i have no idea if that's even possible.
or maybe setting hdmi output to screen resolution to reduce upscaling ugliness.
If anyone has any ideas... including the use of a custom rom...let me know please as being able to stream vids over wifi from tvlinks through my TV (only ones i already legally own ofcourse ) would be wild.
Im on V22A (2.3.5) p920 firmware on p925g hardware
I saw the "dual display" on the youtube for Optimus 2X with Tegra chipset, if you look at the videos, you will see that on the phone display a text with "outputting on secondery monitor" something apears ... i guess we'll see once a Cyanogenmod final release apears for O3D ...
Been having some trouble with my Nexus 5's camera as of late. I've mitigated the issues as much as possible with Jinshu's camera fix and any previous crashes I've incurred in the past are now gone. But one problem still remains. Any video I record is corrupt and can't be played from any platform other than my own phone. In fact, every other video, yes 50% of the videos I record, can't even save. I get the error message "Can't play this video" and the file is gone.
What I've tried so far:
Reinstalling CM11 M9
Jinshu's Camera Fix (It certainly helped with other issues, but this one remains).
Several other Camera Apps
Different Resolution Video Recordings (I usually record at 1080P)
This is on a Sprint Nexus 5 running a clean install of Cyanogenmod 11 Snapshot M9. This is extremely frustrating because I have quite a few videos that I've taken over my summer that I'd like to put on my PC and none of them can be played by numerous players (including VLC Media Player) and editing programs (including Vegas).
Someone please help!
Hi,
I’m experiencing difficulties sending Videos using WhatsApp on the U12+, and I’d like to ask if anyone else has had the same issue? The problems have been...
1) WhatsApp throws up an error message, telling me that the video cannot be sent and that I should try another file.
2) Audio within some sent videos is corrupted (loud screeching/crackling noises).
If my mind serves be correctly, the problem seems to happen mostly with videos where I have zoomed in at some point. However, I because 95% of affected videos never sent in the first place - I can’t check back through my history to be sure that I’m right about that.
I found a German forum where somebody asked the same question, but no clear answer was found (although there was a suspicion that it had something to do with the audio recording mode). Additionally, the Play Store only has only one app review from a U12 user and he/she also refers to problems sending video.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Craig.
Got the same type of issue with Facebook Messenger, where the app was complaining about this "mp4 video format" not supported.
I recorded it with HTC camera app in 1080p 60fps.
No issue anymore if recorded in 1080p 30fps. Have a try...

I ran across something interesting yesterday when I was researching YouTube compatibility with the U12+'s videos.
What is your audio set to, 3D or High Res? High Res results in the video being saved as an .mkv, which isn't widely supported. 3D results in a fileformat that I'm unsure of, but it's apparently common enough to upload.

Crap, sorry. I thought it was worth a shot.
Ni,
I had the same problem but unfortunately those times that happened to me I was not able to give an explanation ... I also assumed that it was a problem of use zoom but in the last wrong posting I had a video without apperenti problems of 42 seconds converted in 11MB he didn't want to go. So today I tried all the combinations of options that I found in the camera and the only one that gave me an error in sending was when I selected sonic zoom audio.
The real problem is that I think that in some way changing from the front camera to the normal one somehow changes the option, or during some updates.
So my advice is to check before registering if this mode is active.
For example in the last test I've recorded with the normal camera with high resolution audio then set to 3d audio. Now in the front camera I find high resolution audio but in the front I never touched options and I'm sure that before the beginning of my tests it was on 3D audio.
Hi, I have tried 2 different CR Android 11. and video recorder doesn't work properly.
For example, in Gcam I can save videos but there's no sound at all. (I have tried NG, and 3 more versions all the same issue)
In Anx, it records the video, but when I go to gallery the video length says 14 hrs and it doesn't even play the video.
Is there any app that records video properly without bugging so much?, to me video recording is essential on my phone. I'm seriously considering going back to MIUI because I see that all CR have the same issue.

Just happened the same thing to me in Lineage OS 17.1.
I wonder if it is related to some libs missing or being different in some Roms. I couldn't make video recording work right with any camera app.
At the moment I went back to MIUI Global Rom until I find if it is rom related, if it is any issue with some library or what else could I do to choose an appropriate rom. Because it is very tired to begin rom switching only to discover again that video recording doesn't work and I have to reflash and reinstall apps again.
Edit; I forgot to ask if you were able to solve your issue
