MicoSD upgrade... - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

I know - this is a general question, but since it has come up since I've upgraded to S7, I will include it here...
I have purchased a 128gB uSD, upgrading from my 64 which was packed... I have purchased 2 of the new uSD since they were on offer, and I had no issue with formatting in my mobile... copying is also seemingly ok - I get a decent average speed and no errors, but after, if I try to access some directories, I get an error message (some generic, useless, "problem with file/directory" type message)... same with files - some don't open, or some (images) open but are corrupt and useless...
this happens with both cards, so I doubt its due to a defect in the card (either that or I am really unlucky)...
has anyone had such a problem? how do I copy all the old files from my uSD to the new one?
thanks in advance...

Did you buy them from a good source?
Often there are fakes where the fakers have messed with the partition tables (or whatever) to make them look like much bigger cards. They even look like they are copying the data ok but when you try to access it ...... sounds like what you are encountering to me.
Personally I would try copying and expanding the entire partitions using something like qparted or mini tool it's usually quicker too

In fact im not 100% sure of the source- it was my first (maybe last?) purchase via geek and paid admittedly real cheap (not sure if guidelines forbid price talk)
But... they seem to be trascend, as was advertised, and the build quality is good... write speed is what i would expect from a class10... or do i write them off to a scam?

Swelldisk 300% - Any Comments?

Has anyone bought and used Swelldisk 300%?
I understand it uses a compression technique, so it will slow down the device, but it would be really nice to have 768MB SD / Wifi rather than 256 MB. That would let me put almost 200 songs on the SD.
I have searched about the software online, but were not able to find any reviews on it. If it runs as promised, I think $40 would be worth it.
some pda related sites, as well as handango, etc. advertises it.
here is the link: www.swelldisk.com
Didn't use is.. But I don't think you can store more mp3/wma files on a swelldisk preparated SD than on a standard formatted SD..
MP3/WMA's cannot be compressed more that they already are...
I would buy a new SD card for that amount of money.
Hello ..
Im using this software .
gotit from pocketgear.
Im using a 2GB SD card and now using SwellDisk300% have 5.8GB of space indicated by rescoexplorer and tools.
sad to say there is no demo to test it.
I took the risk.
up to now im satisfied
I think this is something similar...http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=22364
I used this software and everything went well for some time. Suddenly the data on de drive could not be read anaymore. I had to reinstall a lot of software and restore data. So i will never use this software again.
how about de performance?

has anyone contemplated selling pre-partitioned sd cards?? i don't have the funds to do this right now .. but just a thought
You know... that's not a bad idea. I would even pay to have my data transferred if I was to consider replacing my 8gb with a higher capacity card (like say... 16 gb). I was wondering if it would mess something up if I was to purchase a new card, partition it and transfer all of it myself. Unfortunately I am not too confident in myself because it was a pain in the butt to get it partitioned right the first time. There has to be someone in here with the knowledge and the funds available that would be willing to turn a quick profit.
8gb SDHC =<$20
Partitioning= $10
Data Xfer = $20
Total would still be cheaper then buying an 8gb SDHC at Best Buy and this person would be turning a 2x profit! P&H wouldn't cost any more then a first class stamp for U.S. too. Not a bad idea.
I would be ALL OVER THIS!

you might be on to something there .. provided those USPS people don't screw something up and "misplace" the envelope
send me your sdcard, and i'll do it for $5 =]
wish I had the know how to do it through a remote connection. "Put the money in paypal, plug in your phone and give me ten minutes"...lol
I was going to try to help with partitioning, but that seems to be the easy part then there's the adb stuff :/

adb? easiest way .. use linux (since it's the basis of android) .. let's say your sd mounts to the system as "sdd" .. you create two folders on your desktop as sdd1 and sdd2 to hold the files .. your first partition is FAT32 so you can just click-and-drag files .. from Terminal copy your EXT2 files:
sudo cp -a /media/sdd2/* /home/LucidREM/Desktop/sdd2
so now on your new card .. you unmount .. create a partition for FAT32 called "SDD1" .. you create the second primary partition "SDD2" for EXT2 .. then from Terminal:
sudo cp -a /home/LucidREM/Desktop/sdd2/* /media/sdd2
again .. your FAT32 partition is just click-and-drag .. this is how i did mine and it worked .. can't say how difficult or easy it is for anyone .. but it takes me about 2min .. i'd do remote server for someone but i tried once and found it difficult to navigate thru firewalls and internet BS via linux .. but i think that was also linux -> windows .. maybe linux -> linux would work better
Ahhh, I'm finally starting to understand the linux shell a little better, which it seems like adb is just an emulator for?
A few days ago I thought most the commands here had to do with moving the rom files around..guess not
Anyway, thanks LucidREM.

yea .. the adb is just a way to break into the shell of the phone and run commands via usb .. so you can still run commands on Terminal on the phone or Terminal on linux directly to the card via card reader .. adb is just the short way for users of windows to not have to deal with Terminal and/or the second OS
umm..
have you looked at all the threads about doing this?
if u REALLY you cant do it, i'd be willing to do it for you over logmein remote desktop connection, only thing i can think of, if you interested pm me
I'd be willing to do it was well via remote desktop.
Just pm me if you need it.
Takes two seconds to partition, then you could just throw in the modded JF, run the script and you're good to go.
So doing this via remote desktop, would I have to install anything new on my computer? Also I'm on XP, would that be a problem?
Just to give my advice...i had a lot of trouble trying to get my SD card partitioned and the apps moved to it....finally got it today...
Basically, I used a full version of paragon partition manager to create the EXT2 partition...I think one of the things I was doing wrong before MIGHT have been making the partition a logical disk and not a primary disk. It could also just be that I have no idea how to use the adb shell...its really starting to piss me off...
in any case, I used the Terminal emulator method, and it worked just fine...
what kind of sucks is that when you make the move, the android market doesn't think you have the apps installed anymore, so when you go to "my downloads" , all the apps you've downloaded and installed say "free" again instead of "installed"... this wouldnt be a problem if it werent for the fact that the phone now informs you of new updates for installed apps... you'd essentially have to go back through the apps you have installed, click on "install" again, and reinstall it. At that point, the phone acknowledges that you already have it installed and informs you that it will replace the version you currently have.

I have tried the trial & the full version of paragon but no go on either of them. I tried the virtual machine & a live cd of ubuntu but I don't know how to use those so it didn't make sense to me. I have been down all those roads so having someone else do it for me is the only thing I haven't tried
if you've tried ubuntu live (too advanced?), maybe you'll have luck with puppy live(stripped down windows user friendly, what I used) The program you use in puppy is 'gparted' just make sure you know which drive you want to partition.
I had Unbuntu installed on my second hard drive and everytime I'd get both partitions set and good, then it would loop back to just being the card divied in half with no fat32 or ext2. I went at it for hours, until i screwed up and left my c: drive for the the drive instead of my SD card and partitioned my C: drive losing all my Windows data and programs. Needless to say, I'm really pissed and would pay to buy a pre-partitioned fast class 6, 8gig chip at this point.

HTC Amaze VS HTC One S

Is it really worth upgrading from the amaze to the one s??!!
Probably not unless you REALLY have to have ICS right away and the upgraded camera hardware. I'd say wait until you're upgrade eligible, unless you are now, in which case I'd probably upgrade cause I really like this phone.

When you call it an UPGRADE then yes it's worth it
It's a lot more future proof than the Amaze IMO, probably going to have a lot more development as well.

why should u bet all your music collection in your phone, when u wont listen to all of it anyway?
ATM I have 8gb sdcard, and still 1gb left + alot of music I dont even listen to. I could easy free up even more space...
Just dont take "all the ****s" with you, Change music in your phone time by time instead of taking it all with you and just "skip -> skip -> skip -> 5x skip -> ok this is nice song"
if you bought premium navigation, 16GB is not enough.

from name I understand its some kind of GPS where maps are saved on your sdcard?
If so, Im using mapdroyid which also saved maps on my sdcard, still have free space.
Im wondering, with no sd card, how will rooting and installing roms/backups and what not work now.
I mean, when you have to wipe the phone, youre gonna have to copy all that stuff on the phone to a PC and then move it back later?
Thats one of the things that made me iffy on the one s.
Storage isnt an issue... it comes with 25gb drobox space, You can take all your stuff with you..
And are you really gunna need 12gb worth of pics and music and whatever on your phone ?? As said above its easy to just swap stuff over, Load it back to dropbox and download something else. Keep it fresh
And i think its silly they dont have an SD slot, But look how thin this device is ! its soo slim, compromises had to be made..
And when you do a wipe, Unless you wipe internal SD card, (which you dont need to when doing a 'wipe') all your media will remain, Only the partition that keeps apps and data will be wiped. So again, Its no big deal..
Look at the potential this phone has, when development starts, nothing is gonna keep this bad boy down
No
azzledazzle is wright, but you can also wipe the sd partition and then mount usb storage to copy files on it (rom...gapps) from cwm recovery. I did that on Nexus S last night.

I think people are getting too much of a hard on for Krait. Yes, the S4 soc is amazing. But there are plenty of downers to this phone already.
1) HTC's amazing track record with batteries... Don't get me wrong, love HTC... but omg I've had to replace batteries on several phones after a year. Much nicer when you can just pay $20 for a chinese battery off amazon that works wonders as opposed to having to get the phone serviced.
I mean, honestly, why couldn't the phone have been build like the Sensation/Amaze and lift off that awesome aluminum back?
2) T-Mobile's coverage and the 25 GB of cloud storage - Depending on where you live, this 25gb is gonna SUCK because you can't access it worth a damn.
Though to be fare, everyone who's said "Just swap out your data" is completely right. You don't NEED 32gb of storage on your phone unless you want to be all "Hey, look at all the **** I've got." Which is something the cult of Apple has nurtured in a lot of people through iTunes.
3) Bottleneck - The parts are better than the software they run on. Honestly, this isn't a gaming PC. This isn't a PC at all. You can't just keep throwing higher and higher end parts into a phone expecting it to work better, you hit a performance plateau. Beyond benchmarks, we are starting to see android's limits at this point in standard use. I honestly feel that the HTC Sensation and Amaze are the best Gingerbread and ICS will offer in phones. Everything else is just stylish masturbation.
4) The Micro Arc Oxidation treatment has been shown to not be as durable on some phones as it should be. I've seen a couple blogs and several owners attest to this. If I can't have my HTC One S with that kickass plasma treatment and red accents without it flaking off I don't want it at all
Really guys, the Amaze (and it's lil bro the Sensation) are both great phones. If you don't mind taking the time to upgrade the sensation to a sensation xe rom you can get a very stable 1.5-1.7 ghz overclock and the Amaze battery fits in it, leaving you with one very very nice piece of machine. I got one to replace a busted Amaze and it runs very nice and I almost don't want to use my Amaze again now that it's fixed...
But back on to the One S... It's pretty, but it's really just HTC's one up of the Galaxy Nexus and Razr MAXX. Don't give in to the stylistic oneupmanship, just hold off and get the next monster they put out. I guarantee you we will see a monster of a phone in a few months that will basically be the next Amaze.
It's small and stylish. Feels great to hold in the hand as opposed to the other giants HTC has released during the years. Why all so called "flagship" models must have ridiculous screen sizes is beyond my understanding - the One S fits right in where it belongs and I think the upgrade is more on the aesthetic side than anything...
Like the above poster, I don't think that the storage space is an issue at all. (Coming previously from a Galaxy S 8gb model which I never really maxed out) and use the cloud if you need the space, hell it's even recommended why wouldn't you want your stuff sync'd all the time? I don't really see the point in having on board storage that I can't backup 24/7 anyway and with today's free data plans, most of us don't care for storing things locally.
But that's just my 2c.

What about when you're somewhere where theres no service or limited service. Viewing, transferring or downloading from dropbox will be impossible.
Or how about this senerio, starting to have to start saving our best, most intimate photos, important files to dropbox because you're already out of space in internal storage and dropbox crashes. Everything lost, forever.
No SD card slot for expandable storage is ridiculous.
For me it makes perfect sense. All my music is streamed through our Subsonic server, pictures auto update to a private G+ album, docs are on Gdocs.
If I'm going to the mountains I just preload some music and I'm good to go.
Physical storage is dying; long live the cloud

I agree wholeheartedly. I get why people don't like the cloud but I have never had any issues with cloud storage. I also use Subsonic to stream my music and it works great. The Subsonic app also caches music on my phone so if I have a bad connection I still have tunes. Also, I have no problem uploading my pictures and everything to Dropbox. Honestly, the lack of storage doesn't concern me at all.

Yea, you're right. I won't be going for the one s for sure. Amaze will be a better choice.
Mobile devices suppost to help by having data with you, but it cannot replace PC if u want all ur things with u then it wont be so mobile anymore, thats why ppl make cloud storage and cloud computing

Reboot Woes due to 32GB Transcend Class 10 card

Hi Guys,
I am totally hassled no end due to endless reboot of my phone due to using an Transcend 32gb class 10 card. I need some inputs to resolve this if anyone can advise of.
Mine is an sys version. 55.28.37.MB865.AsiaRetail.en.03 with 2.3.6 with baseband version 2012-03-28 off.Bld UnRoooted.
The issue is the phone works fine with this card in all respects until in case phone is restarted or powered off & on.
What follows next is the phone starts up normally & then after a while it restarts again & this goes on and on. I have tried all methods, pulling out the battery and waiting & then starting off, starting the phone without the card wherein phone remains stable & normal & then inserting the card & the same issue of restarting happens after a while, putting the phone to sleep & then inserting the card, pulling out the card without unmounting etc etc. Also I have observed by pulling out the card & then putting it back in, storage setting shows the card as total space as 29.23gb but when I click unmount, it shows in progress but then again shows option for unmount but at the same time card apps are not available.
Finally, I cannot recall at which point of time & due to which action the phone accepts the card and functions normally. Is there a fix from Transcend for this 32gb microSDHC class 10 card in terms of formatting the card with their software or would there be a fix from Motorola in the upcoming ICS update?? More importantly, does anybody know any trick of getting the card to be accepted by the phone because as I mentioned once the phone normally accepts it, it works without a hitch.
Thanks.

It is a known issue. But still there's hope, you can try selecting a higher vsel to see if that helps driving the card. Higher capacity, higher class demands higher voltage. But no guarantee it'll work, rather you may end up charging more often. An app like "SetVsel" may be able to do this, but you'll have to root your phone first.

@.jaz... I am well aware of the 32gb class 10 issues & one of them on which I had posted much earlier was "Known working SD cards" & my quote as below from the earlier thread atop the original post
Quote
Transcend 32gb Class 10 works fine. Moto support chat told me up to 32gb is supported but class 10 is not recommended & class 6 is fine but I believe 32gb class 6 is not available at all & hence I purchased 32gb class 10 and with so many apps, music, 1080p vids & 8megs pics I think 32gb is essential to keep it all together. Just keep backups at all times!
Unquote
As I stated the card works fine endlessly unless if due to battery complete discharge phone is switched off or if user restarts the phone then the issue of booting normally occurs and thereon after a while phone reboots and this is endless. Here my query was I am unable to pinpoint by which action or at what point of time the phone reaccepts the card working normally again & if any user has any helpful inputs worth a shot like what Kousik suggested. Also if anybody knows if Transcend or Motorola have some patches for this as it is already proven the card words fine.

@ Apex... Nobody is forcing threads upon "You"..if you view & feel, "not again", then you can just skip it.
As I already clarified, I have looked up this issue much before even buying the card directly checking with Moto directly wherein they did confirm 32 gb is compatible but at no point they advised me categorically to desist buying Class 10. The only reason as I once again state since I believe you are taking a view that an old issue is being revisited, is that for almost three months now the card has been functioning fine. I am just trying to get an handle on what particular action or point of time causes the phone to accept the card & function normally. I repeat, as far as phone does not get switched off, this card works without any glitches and then even after the constant rebooting at one point it does reaccept & functions normally. Kousik had one suggestion, could there be any other like, formatting a card from the pc or from the phone itself, not very sure of "NTFS" or "FAT" formats, Transcend has a special format program as well. If any senior members know that if this could be addressed in ICS. It is very generalised view Class 10 - end of story. Let's have some fresh inputs like how I have explained my experience.

What you are failing to see here, is that some of us have now had this phone for over 10 months now and seen it all. I can tell you this is not a new issue at all. Try formatting your card from within the phone itself under setting--> storage. It will function just fine for a period of time, and then at some point it will stop functioning again. This is completely normal behavior. Go buy a class 6 32GB card and you will NOT have this issue. Motorola is a bunch of morons, and I would not trust one thing they tell you.

The SDHC class 10 problem is not limited to the Atrix 2 or motorola. It is a generic problem with google/android and class 10. Unless rooted, hemorrhoid has a nervous breakdown with NFTS, forcing the use of FAT32 or exFat.
Don't want to repeat myself or continually repeat the same post from Patriot but they provided some very useful information acknowledging a problem with hemorrhoid OS and 32GB class 10 cards and suggested a temporary fix of performing a full format on a Windows PC in FAT32 with a 32kb allocation size.
A copy of the Patriot reply can be found on the April 11, 2011 review currently on this page: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...IsFeedbackTab=true&Keywords=(keywords)&Page=6

You sound like an immature child calling Android "hemorrhoid OS".
Please stop doing that, and call it Android as is should be.
Thank you!

I know you from previous posts.. thats exactly why i was more surprised to see this post from you. And from the same thread that you've mentioned, there's post that kingmax class 10 is working fine.. i wonder it was you who posted it

Try increasing the sd cache to 3 or 4 mb
Get a scripter from market and schedule this to run on startup you can also use terminal emulator.
echo "3072" > /sys/devices/virtual/bdi/179:0/read_ahead_kb
Also sometimes even a brand new momory cards are corrupted so connect it to a pc and perform full format.

At least it is good to see unlike some fellow members who resort to Caps, bold (which is a no brainer -bad etiquette) have a way of putting things across. Moto personnel yes, learnt it the hard way & the whole idea before purchase was to confirm. I never said this was a new issue and fully agree and aware of reams of info on this topic but if you yet see, still many users are yet coming up with suggestions, tips within this thread itself (thank you all Getting a 32gb Class 4 (now here I have never seen a class 6 32GB, would like to see a link for one though) & moving on is simplest solution. But I pumped in good money besides the phone on this card and if there is no other way, then would like to know for info's sake on a technical front what causes this issue. No one yet answered my question if they are aware of if upcoming ICS can resolve this. Anyways, appreciate your thoughts.
Now if I buy a 32gb class 4 card what would be the ideal way I can have a exact replica of my existing card?
1) Would I need to just Copy the whole card as is in to a pc folder the paste the same on to the new card??
2) or is it a better idea to redownload all apps once again? I have back up on the card for all my apps from "Apps2SD" but then I believe it's backs up all version of any single app then how should I go about it restoring apps on to the new card?
3) Before using the card for the first time for optimum performance is it required to format the card from within the phone or from PC using a tool like "Autoformat".exe (also what's the deal on NTFS,FAT formats, which one is better and how to go about it?)
Thanks

What bugged me the most and prompted me to use the caps lock was, a relatively known member posted this thing, and besides, if you asked about the work arounds or technical things, me being a not-so-tech-guy wouldn't have jumped on to this, would have left it to the more senior members. It was plain "why isnt' a class 10 mem card working with A2?" thread.
and hey I too get a lot of stick, and i completely understand, it's just to keep the forums clean.

It was not plain "Class 10 card not working with A2", it was that adding on to it (from the original post itself) known causes, workarounds, additional inputs etc..I am all for keeping the forum clean as well but hey nobody is infallible..I have seen so many posts from most senior members too wherein they humbly submit their inputs to newbies without much offence on simple issues. I am just exasperated now that due to certain view points I am having to write lengthy lines rather than sticking to technical queries & hope this one's the end to it, I'd rather channel my energies for providing any help I can be of.
I would still appreciate inputs from fellow members on app transfer options list I have put forth. Thanks.

Precisely why I posted to this. Point being: its been previously posted, discussed (at length) and known for quite some time that this is a problem with the ATRIX 2. We don't need one or three or twelve threads on the same topic. No one will regard your credibility highly (but rather your lack thereof) if you don't follow forum rules and have respect for keeping it clean and organized. So, again, a class 10 SD card may work for a given time, but you WILL have issues with it sooner or later. There's no "ifs", "ands" or "buts" about it, so come to terms with it. Your questions and/or concerns on this topic could have -and should have- been posted in the other topic-related thread.
The reason behind my "bad etiquette" as you say (passive aggressively, I might add -real mature) was to get it through your head that the class 10's will not work with this phone. This is why other members chimed in with some frustration, because we know it won't work with these phones. Do I know exactly why it doesn't work? No, and quite frankly I don't care. The SD card problems found over class 6 is completely innocuous when knowing the solution: don't buy one! :banghead: If you feel like you just have to determine the reason it won't work, ask in the already existing thread(s). Hell, just Google it or find out on your own the answers, maybe then you'll get some credibility.

I noticed you mention apps 2 sd, you can not install and run apps on the sdcard with this phone, that is the reason you are having this issue, again that has been pointed out all over this forum.
There is a bug in motorolas implementation of android that causes this. So your best bet is to get that 32Gb class 4 card you mentioned and NOT install ANY apps to it. Infact you MUST disable that in settings.
So far with the ICS leaks we have not seen a fix for this. I am sure moto does not care much about fixing the issue because there is 4GB of internal app storage on the A2.
Also, for future reference do a search and post in an already established thread no matter how old it is. The reason you got such a bad reception is due to the fact that this issue gets coverd weekly around here.
Get a card reader for your pc and copy the data ONLY, not the apps. Using a usb cardreader you should be able to get one that will hold 2 cards and just copy from one to the other.

On the youtube video, that was the first thing I watched when I joined XDA so I guess might come in handy for noobs who might have missed that & who are reading this now. In case if you missed it, I have been repeatedly acknowledging the fact that I completely realize this is a much talked about topic but I had some other relative add on's in here on which I was expecting some help and you can see members still have some suggestions to offer as varied as changing cache size to some other options, so uh, some people yet opine of some workarounds. In any case, I moved on asking for tips for setting up a new card so I would think it is pretty evident that I am completely in terms of acceptance of the fact that class 10 has an issue. I also mentioned no one is infallible & I am sure you would have had your days too. I don't think any forum encourages caps, bold except for emphasizing something technical & as such it is better best avoided by the senior-est of members I'd say. When you say, you wanted to "get it through my head", I'd have worded it, "I am trying to explain to you here that.." so I guess it's evident who is getting aggressive here & hey like you say "hell" if i wanted to know the reason why it wont work & as you suggest to go google it..yeah then I wouldn't be here in the first place. I'm not sure why you are still subscribed to this thread still though since you feel it's such a no brainer? Cheers!

[Q] SD card not mounting, "blank or unsupported file system".

When I putt he SD into my phone (currently running Paranoid KANG droid 2.32) I actually get nothing more than an occasional "SD has been removed" message. However, when I put the card into my old OG droid (running Cyanogenmod 7) i get the "unsupported file system" error. This has happened before, and I just had to wait it out before the SD recovered on its own. It is not doing this now. (yes I am an idiot for still using it despite my 32 gigs of internal storage). I have a feeling it is formatted as RAW due to a formatting issue, but I can't get anything else (pc or other devices) to recognize the card, other than my OG droid. So what I want to know, is if there is a way to force mount the card, or give a PC control over the sdcard path and force mount it some way through the PC (effectively turning my phone into an external card reader, because traditional methods don't work). I need a workaround for this, because there are dozens of pictures of my family, puppies, and friends on it that I don't want to lose.
Back up the card of you can, it sounds like it's dying on you. This phone really s3ms to kill cards, I've already gone through 2 32gig cards.
I had a 32GB Sandisk Ultra MicroSD card, and by chatting with Sandisk support, I am going to exchange my dead card for a working card. BTW, while you can, salvage the data you can, because it starts out like that, before becoming completely unusable.
I've went through two SanDisk. They are easy to work with, just get the ball rolling on the replacement.
Like the others said, get your data backed up as soon as you can.

wow. so now not only am I not able to use my phone on tmobile's 4g, I also cannot have external storage because the phone destroys it? what a tremendously idiotic piece of crap.
does anyone know about any apps or pc software that would help me get my data back? I have the card reader but the pc wants to format the card and so does the phone. I need, like, mad rescue gear.
thanks!
Wow... You can't use it on someone else's 4g because it was designed for a different network.
Also I've not had any problems whatsoever with my external.

Had 4 of these cards for a year now and not one hiccup. I'd say whatever is happening to them, its something you are doing to crap them, not the vendors. ALways backup your critical data, but if you treat these cards properly they will work and last as well as any.
No, you CAN use it on someone elses network, just not T-mobile as it doesn't do hdspa+ 1700, 1900... There's even a bounty out for that elsewhere on xda, to enable these bands, I believe it's currently at over $200.
And no, I'm not doing crap to the SD card. I've had it for over two years, used it on a different phone before that, never did anything different and it just died out of the blue. I'm not a noob, I would know if I had done something to it.
You would be pretty pissed off too if all your data was deleted, the phone you spent many many hours working to pay for did not work and when you ask for help someone blames you instead of helping. But I guess it's easier to blame than to help out right?
I get that part. However, don't get mad that it doesn't work fully for the network is wasn't designed for. That was my biggest part. I know there's a bounty. However, its been up for forever and nothing has come of it. I can't stand seeing people gripe about this phone because its not literally magic. Verizon's stuff is locked down, always has been, probably always will. Its a different radio/modem/antenna set than the tmo and at&t versions. It was meant to run on Verizon's network. Period.
