No deep sleep after charging, - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

I am experiencing following problem.
After every charging my phone don't want to go to deep sleep. I need to do the reboot device to make it works.
I am almost sure that this problem is caused by some initial android process or samsung core app, because always when it happens, Android System uses way more energy in battery stats.
I used Package Disabler Pro to disable some bloatware, Gsam battery monitor to check deep sleep.
AOD - turned off,
I am suspecting that it could be linked to find my mobile service, because my girlfriend with s6 has a same problem and started to complain on battery after I turned on this service.
Here is the list of bloatware I disabled:

Does anyone have the same problem? Maybe someone with rooted phone has this problem and can check what service is causing it in wakelock detector?
I would appreciate any suggestion to solve this problem

I found out by wakelock detector that service *backup* is responsible for this wakelock. Does anyone knows what's that and how I can get rid of that bug?

I had the exact same issue with my S6 at 6.0.1. AFter I rooted the phone with CF-autoroot, I lost deep sleep. Then I used the terminal emulator to enter a few commands to re-activate the deep sleep. Now, after I remove the phone from the charger there is no deep sleep (checked by cpu spy) until the phone is rebooted. I reached this thread while looking for a solution, if I find something I will let you know.

The solution for me was to deactivate the "Nearby device scanning".

Thank you brochs. I confirm that this also worked for me as well. Deep Sleep is retained during and after charging without the need for a reboot. Lets see if this works for kamik19600.

Do you have any apps disabled? If yes, you used package disabler, app manager or some other way?

I think it's not solution for me. I think that some disabled app is causing problems to the google backup.

No, I did not disable any apps. I have not even stopped any bloatware. Everything is still running as per default settings except for the root.

Have you checked with wakelock detector what is causing the wakelock? For me is it *backup* service, from what I checked it most likely linked to the google backup.

No I did not try wakelock, I was only checking the battery usage from the phone settings which was showing Android System with the highest percentage.
I have installed wakelock now, and I will try to replicate the charging scenario without the fix suggested by 'brochs' and will see if it is more specific. I will keep you posted.

hi,
we have the same issue with the backup process, i've posted my results so far here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66920955&postcount=1342

I tried an app from the playstore, "Deep Sleep Battery". It works great, you have more control over when to trigger the deep sleep. I set it to deep sleep whenever the screen turns off. It even works while the phone is charging (although you have the option to disable that).

I think that I found solution for my wakelock problem. I needed to turn of backup in google photos app and google settings before disabling this app.

I have found the problem to become active after charging the unit. Now I do a restart after charging and the problem with battery drain no longer happens. I guess Samsung have to fix this at some point, but I have managed to avoid disabling every useful feature by doing a restart after charging.

Most likely you have the same problem as me. Disable google photos backup in google settings (settings -> apps -> google settings on the bottom) and see if the wakelock still happens.

[Q] Partial Wakelock - 'audiomix' & 'n'

Hey everyone,
Since I've been using my Nexus 5 a few days ago, I've noticed that there's quite a number of wakelocks on my device.
Through the use of BetterBatteryStats, here's what I found:
{

Can someone tell me what is 'audiomix' and 'n' processes that's keeping my device on partial wakelock. I'd appreciate your help.
Thank you.

Same thing with me.
AudioMix is the top one
any ideas anybody?

Think i've figured out how to stop AudioMix...turn off Touch Sounds and Screen Lock sounds
same here... just only audiomix, not "n"
I have a nexus 4 with the same issue, must be a general 4.4 problem because I never saw it in any other version.

AudioMix is for audio output partial wakelock.
you can check bugreport to get more info.
maybe that is responsible for listening "OK Google"?
I have the same. AudioMix is the largest partial wakelock by a lot. I've searched around for information but everything seems to be from the past week or so, without any answers. Looks like it's something to do with KitKat specifically

I'm having the same issue. AudioMix accounts for %95 of my wakelocks. I have disabled Google Now, Location, and Google Music. Can't figure out what's causing it.
Do all of you guys have touch sounds enabled? The sounds for locking and unlocking the phone? These wakelocks dont look severe at all. Unless its keeping your device awake for hours and hours, I wouldn't even worry about it.

I have all of those settings disabled. As of the time of writing this wakelock has kept the phone awake for 32min of 2hr uptime. It's not severe but it is but far the worst offending wakelock.

Oh well yea, that sounds like its a bit of an issue keeping your phone awake for 25% of its uptime off charger.

My phone is kept awake more than 95% off charger cos of AudioMix (MediaServer ?).
I had done a factory reset in TWRP and also tried turning off Touch Sounds and Screen Lock sounds, but it does not seem to help at all.
Nexus 5 on stock ROM and Franco r14.
I was worried about the Audiomix wakelock until I realized(for me at least) that Better Battery Stats is ringing up wakelock time for it even when the screen is on. Can literally constantly refesh the stats and watch the timer go up. If I turn the screen off the timer stops. Not really getting any extra battery drain from it as when the screen is off the phone goes into deep sleep.

Ok I greenify 2 background apps and found that the Audiomix time stopped increasing. 1 or both of them should be the culprit.

I was having this issue yesterday...so I rebooted. Issue stopped. Don't know what caused it though.

Is greenify acting up again?

I was wondering if anyone else was having issues with greenify lately? I have noticed that apps that are supposed to be hibernating are not hibernating or waking back up on their own.
For example, I will greenify all apps with the hibernate widget button (not to mention that many apps that i'm trying to hibernate are already added to the hibernate list in hibernate to begin with). the widget will pop up and say XXX apps have been hibernated. then i press the widget again and it says nothing to be hibernated good, I put the device to sleep and leave it alone.
several min later I wake it back up, press the hibernate button again and the same apps that I hibernated just a few min prior are now saying they are hibernating again.
Since i have not woke the device or used it since my last hibernation, why are those apps back awake again?
just weird and not working like its supposed to.
Im trying to nail down this battery drain issue after switching to tmobile and this is something unrelated that I noticed.
many thanks in advance for any help or advice.

thats just how android works. certain conditiins will call up apps(like signal change, location change, etc). greenify cant stop those. theres an app called autostarts where you can disable those conditions where certain apps are called upon.

I'd almost agree with you except for the fact that when you greenfy apps like Facebook, and in facebook you have it set to no notifications, no chat etc nothing.. and you greenify it.. it should stay OFF until you open it again especially if i have not used the phone and its idle and no apps have been opened to call it. thats the whole point of greenify... hibernate apps until YOU open or call them. i wouldn't use it if it was just to "snooze" apps until they wake up when ever they want. thats just plain useless and it never happened before with my device. I loved greenify because apps remained OFF until i opened them.
You're not alone, i think it happens to everyone. I get this with shazam and some other apps, they just find a way to "wake up" i guess.

There are many causes that wake an app even we disabled autostart, disable based on event (network change, app install/uninstall, phone call, sms, time, location, triggred from another app, etc), greenify etc. It always has a "hidden" wakeup call. Donate version of greenify does has 'reveal hidden sync' feature. So it will better handles hibernation.

So I am assuming this app works like greenify?
yes, similarly to greenify
@OP, what makes your app different than other hibernating apps? Sticking to Greenify for now but this app got my attention. Too bad I don't have time to test extensively.
I was Greenify user before as well but It started to drain my battery by trying to repeatedly hibernate apps. After some time I decided to write my own app and take a different approach to minimise the battery usage and CPU consumption. The background service doesn’t run all the time instead it wakes up once every few minutes to put the apps into hibernation state , if they are not already hibernated.

I started to use your application, but it allways says "0 apps running". What does this mean? How can we be sure if this application working properly or not?
Thank you.
First of all you need to select apps that you want to hibernate. After you have done that you will see how many of those apps are running in the background. (thats what n apps running means)

I know and did what you say but as I said before application still shows 0 apps running. Maybe I did something wrong, maybe a bug.
I added some apps to the list and run that apps. When I switch back or reopen Doze Battery Saver, it was still showing 0 apps running.
When you open Recents apps it doesn't mean that all displayed apps are actually running in the background. Could you open Chrome browser and go straight back to Doze Battery Saver to see if its running or not ?
Same.
I opened a webpage with slow 2G (edge) connection. While Chrome still trying to load webpage I back to Doze Battery Saver, it was still showing 0 apps running.
I tried also with Whatsapp, same.
Can it be related with SuperSu, although it grants root permission. I'm using SuperSU Free v2.49 and Doze Battery Saver v1.0.3
did you restart Doze Battery Saver ? when you clicked on the plus button in the app was chrome marked as hibernated ?

High battery usage - can anyone help?

Hi everyone,
I'm having some major issues with my s10e. It started draining the battery very quickly and it now needs to be charged 2-3 times a day with very little usage. I'm talking like 1 hour SOT usage. It's loosing over 5% of battery per hour just sitting on the table doing nothing. I turned off syncing, uninstalled some apps that could cause is, cleared cache and finally factory reset it. I even downgraded from android 11 to android 10 to see if that will make any difference. But no success. Still high battery drain. It sometimes gets a bit warm as well while not being used. Better battery stats reports high mmc0_detect activity. I've checked my wife's S10lite and she doesn't even have that kind of wake lock at all. I googled it and it's got something to do with memory card. However, the problem exists with several memory cards I checked as well as without one in the phone.
Samsung replaced the battery last week under the warranty but that did not help at all. I'm getting really frustrated with this phone now.
Does anyone know what could be the cause?
On the ss below you can see that it lost 12% in just 2 hours with 7min SOT. That's definitely not what it should be.

Turn off wifi. Disable all power management and see what it does.
Disable all cloud apps and FB, WhatsApp etc.*
Disable all Google, carrier and Samsung feedback.
Disable Google Firebase.
Turn off locations when not needed.
You'll toast that battery if you don't tone it down; don't charge past 80% for now to lessen the damage.
*try running in safe mode to see if it's a 3rd party app causing it.

I think mmc0 refers to your internal memory; my guess is that it doesn't work as it should or that it isn't connected properly.

Disable Google Backup Transport, Framework and Playstore/Google Play Services (enable as needed). Clear data on all the former except Playstore as needed. Clear System Logs at same time.
Reboots and factory resets are useless for this issue.
Use this Package Blocker*:
Home - Package Disabler
The only NON-root solution that let’s you disable any unwanted packages that come pre-installed / installed with your phone / tablet.
www.packagedisabler.com
Use Karma Firewall (Playstore) to lock it down better.
* you can block all cloud junk, carrier updates and any bloatware as well. Some apks have dependencies so bare this in mind when blocking.

So with google play services disabled the battery drain is pretty much the same.
Also disabling google play services results in my phone constantly throwing notifications at me saying that some apps need it to work properly. Also without google play services I can't use Google Pay which is a no no for me.

Question How to stop watch from updating automatically?

So as the title suggests, I want to stop my watch from updating automatically, everytime I connect my watch or phone to wifi, it starts downloading the update. Is there a way to stop this? by removing any of the packages or anything?
You can't remove any of the Wearables apps.

Thanks for the great info! this app is super useful and user-friendly, do you know what might be the name of the package that needs to be disabled? I could not find anything that resonated with software update.
I blocked the update server "dms.ospserver.net" on my network to stop automatic updates. Not sure if this is the same server used for all models/regions though.
If you want to disable updates via the adb route i have read from others that it would be the 2 packages below, but cannot personally confirm:
"adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.sec.android.soagent"
"adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.wssyncmldm

Thank you so much!!! disabling the packages did the trick!
I even tried to trigger the update manually but the whole "Software update" section doesn't seem to open once the packages are disabled, both in phone as well as watch, so seems like this did the trick.
Thank you again!
Edit: I'll test it out for a few days and check if it somehow enables itself or not (like what windows does) and if it doesn't, then I'll mark this thread as SOLVED.
