Google dialer blocked on non-nexus devices - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note5

Don't know if anyone noticed but for a week or so the Google phone dialer was available to non-nexus devices. Then google disabled it. I was lucky and got it installed before they made it for nexus devices only again. Anyone else got lucky and got the dialer?

you can still get the apk from apkmirror.
Google Phone 2.5.12_rc9 is the nexus only version. Google Phone 2.5.11_rc8 is the latest version that works on any phone.

Play store

I have installed a newer play store, 3.10.9. I don't get notifications about updates, so I want to get to the stock version. I tryed uninstalling updates but after reboot I get 3.10.9 again. What do I have to do ?

update of store is manage by Google and this is the reason why you have newest version again. I think you can't change it anymore.
I have new on mobile already, but old one on tablet still
What version is normally on stock ics ? I'll try to download the correct version but I don't know which one to search.

it's not aout version of Android, but about version released by Google, I have X version for last few months as eveybody. You can found it just by checking of version usually.
I was asking about the app, not about the android version. The version of playstore app on the note 10.1 might be different that the one on nexus 10 for example, or the one on older phones that still run android 2.3. I need to know the version of the app, is visible in playsore/settings at the bottom. Should look like 3.9.15 or something.

it's clear for me. I have 3.9.16 on SGN10.1 now, ICS 4.0.4 and 3.10.9 on SGS2 on ICS 4.0.4
No matter what version I try, it gets back to 3.10.9. I'll leav it like this for now, until jb comes.

I have almost the same problem. 6 days ago PS updated, I recieve notifies but when trying to update, the window shows downloading (forever).
I have this issue with my G TAB2 7.0 and my SGS3. When i connect to my friends home network it works. When i connect to my GS3 hotspot it works. Its driving me nuts.
I have made no changes to my router settings. I opened both firewalls on my router, same results. I cant see where port 5723 is being blocked on my router.
I searched XDA for answers as well as GPS and read where there are issues but i cant find or see where my settings need any changes.
If anyone has suggestions please let me know. Thanks.
Try uninstalling updates for P.S. and let it update again, maybe will fix himself. I even did a reset to factory default and still it's updating to 3.10.9... but I'm not sure yet if I'll get notified for updates because there are none at the moment.
Edit : Nope, I don't get notified about updates.

Google Play Update?

One of my friends has a Moto RAZR MAXX, and it looked like his Google Play may have been updated recently.
Has Google Play been updated? And, if yes, why isn't it available yet on my VZW GS3?
yes the Google play store has been updated.. don't know why your s3 hasn't still updated
Mine hasn't updated either.
Tapatalk via CM10.1 Galaxy S3
lol ya i just noticed mine was new....must have updated itself overnight. Doesn't seem too bad so far
When I initially installed the ROM I'm on, the store was inverted. Than it automatically updated itself. If it hasn't done so yet, it should soon.
You can download it

I think we are all waiting for T-Mobile to update for KitKat. Since they finally started selling the Nexus 5, and the MotoX is running KitKat, they are probably going to see more of a business need to get this completed.
I was informed that nexus 5 is not supported for that app
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You can install it but it doesn't work. Also the Tmobile account manager app barely works in 4.4. I haven't had luck pulling up my account info on it.
Somewhere in this forum the tmo visual voicemail is posted I'll see if I can find it and link you to it.
It will not show up (at least for me) in the play store on stock 4.4. I have installed the apk and it does indeed work. But I get dual notifications (one from visual voicemail and one from regular tmo voicemail).
They'll have official visual voicemail working soon I'd expect since the MotoX is also now updated to 4.4
Edit: click here for the post with the apk

[Q] AT&T G3 No visual voicemail/ other Apps

Hello, I just got my G3 from AT&T on Friday and I've noticed some issues with the Play store showing apps that should be available. The AT&T Visual Voicemail app says that its not compatible, but if I download the apk from XDA, it works fine. Also, I can't locate the Amazon app (Regular Store App, not App Store app). Its almost like the phone is not an AT&T phone. When I put Visual Voicemail in the Play store, it shows TMobiles VV and allows me to download and install it but not AT&T. Any suggestions?
mine had vvm preloaded on it. i'm not seeing amazon app either, maybe a compatibility thing for the screen res?
Just find the att vvm apk online and install it. Working fine on my g3.
Same with the Amazon app apk. Not to be confused with the Amazon app store apk
Sent from my G3!
This is because of our screens. The play store restricts what it shows you based on your screen size/resolution. I believe there's an xposed module that fixes this not sure though

A friend of mine actually found an older apk for Amazon and installed it. It works fine, but Google Play says it incompatible. To me, the mobile Amazon page is very similiar to the app.

I actually prefer the visual voicemail app that came preloaded on my G3. I had nothing but problems with the AT&T app on my M7 and had to switch to YouMail to maintain that functionality. The "stock" app is speedy and clean.

I simply went to www.amazon.com and installed the Amazon App Store apk. Then from the app store I downloaded the Amazon apk.

Is anyone else continuously prompted to enter their password before they can check visual voicemail and download the messages? Mine prompts me quite often, then gives me an 'cannot perform login due to error in connection' message.

I found the google voice widget to be terrible with my last phone. I wouldn't get messages for long periods of time. I haven't tried it with the g3, but the stock visual voicemail works fine.

Assistant

Hey, did anyone achieved google assistant on your galaxy s7? Can't get it. Beta version of google play services also does not work.
I believe we need to accept an ota for that apparently from what I've been reading.

My understanding is that it's a server side switch, no update required. I think they may have jumped the gun with the announcement last week since I've heard very few reports of assistant becoming available not only on the S7/S7 Edge, but even other marshmallow/nougat devices as of yet.
Does the region of your phone affect on receiving an update? Or only the interface language?
You can get Google Assistant by downloading Lucky Patcher and patching the Google App to have Google Assistant enabled. Fully functioning thank you to the patch modder. Give it a go! It worked for me, but I prefer Google Now as the screen search is so handy and I've become fixed to it.
Good luck and let me know if you have troubles with the app!

I tried without root. Unsuccessful. "Pattern not found! or patch is already applied?!"
Maybe because i have signed up to a beta testing of google application? Its v.6.14.14.21.arm64 now.
I'm sorry for assuming you guys had root. I believe so that it requires root to modify the odex

No need to root anymore to get assistant!
I got assistant yesterday on my stock S7!

It's server side, per Google themselves. Reports today are that the rollout has been accelerated, but still nothing for me though there are lots more reports of folks who have gotten it last night/today.
Finally i got it.
After an update of google app XD.
Thank you.

I have it on my stock (not rooted) Verizon Wireless S7. It came over with the Nougat update, or shortly thereafter. So far I don't like it. But that is probably more about unfamiliarity than anything.

Same tbh. I also didn't like that you can no longer screen search as freely. Google Now still doing wonders for me

Updated Google app and running the correct Google services framework, but no Assistant
I tried it with Google Allo and didn't like it there so not really fussed, but wonder why it hasn't activated for me
EDIT -Changed primary system language to US and it worked
Also assistant cant identify songs yet.
Thats strange. Why google can not just copy program code from google now?

Yeah, i had assistant on my s7 edge but after samsung replace motherboard which obviously factory reset my phone i can't get it any more.... Beta tester for both play services and Google app....
Cleared data of both apps as well, long press invokes screen search and no assistant settings in google app....
