Hello, I just got my G3 from AT&T on Friday and I've noticed some issues with the Play store showing apps that should be available. The AT&T Visual Voicemail app says that its not compatible, but if I download the apk from XDA, it works fine. Also, I can't locate the Amazon app (Regular Store App, not App Store app). Its almost like the phone is not an AT&T phone. When I put Visual Voicemail in the Play store, it shows TMobiles VV and allows me to download and install it but not AT&T. Any suggestions?
mine had vvm preloaded on it. i'm not seeing amazon app either, maybe a compatibility thing for the screen res?
Just find the att vvm apk online and install it. Working fine on my g3.
Same with the Amazon app apk. Not to be confused with the Amazon app store apk
Sent from my G3!
This is because of our screens. The play store restricts what it shows you based on your screen size/resolution. I believe there's an xposed module that fixes this not sure though

A friend of mine actually found an older apk for Amazon and installed it. It works fine, but Google Play says it incompatible. To me, the mobile Amazon page is very similiar to the app.

i remember seeing that module too, maybe i'll install it and see if that works
I actually prefer the visual voicemail app that came preloaded on my G3. I had nothing but problems with the AT&T app on my M7 and had to switch to YouMail to maintain that functionality. The "stock" app is speedy and clean.

This is true
I simply went to www.amazon.com and installed the Amazon App Store apk. Then from the app store I downloaded the Amazon apk.

Is anyone else continuously prompted to enter their password before they can check visual voicemail and download the messages? Mine prompts me quite often, then gives me an 'cannot perform login due to error in connection' message.

I found the google voice widget to be terrible with my last phone. I wouldn't get messages for long periods of time. I haven't tried it with the g3, but the stock visual voicemail works fine.

I think we are all waiting for T-Mobile to update for KitKat. Since they finally started selling the Nexus 5, and the MotoX is running KitKat, they are probably going to see more of a business need to get this completed.
I was informed that nexus 5 is not supported for that app

You can install it but it doesn't work. Also the Tmobile account manager app barely works in 4.4. I haven't had luck pulling up my account info on it.
Somewhere in this forum the tmo visual voicemail is posted I'll see if I can find it and link you to it.
It will not show up (at least for me) in the play store on stock 4.4. I have installed the apk and it does indeed work. But I get dual notifications (one from visual voicemail and one from regular tmo voicemail).
They'll have official visual voicemail working soon I'd expect since the MotoX is also now updated to 4.4
Edit: click here for the post with the apk

This worked for me
It says Its not compatible. Anyone else getting this error? And I'm talking about the regular amazon app not the appstore version. Wtf lol

Yeah, some apps won't show up because of the dpi of the device. I am rooted, and I am using the "Play Store Fixes" module in Xposed, and now all apps are showing up. You might want to look into this as well if you are rooted, or plan to root.

I installed Amazon this morning with no issues. Rooted. No dpi fix.

Go through Amazon's own Appstore
I had noticed the same issue as well. I end up using some apps I got for free on Amazon Appstore, so after I got those apps, I just thought of trying for Amazon app. Turns out, it works just fine.
Here's the Amazon Appstore download instruction, and once you have that, you can either search from the appstore or get it through app download site.
I just installed it aswell. maybe they updated it.

Thank you!
No matter what, I can never stay away from android for long.
I can't find it either. Weird

At the rate Google and all the other apps update the TBO guys do a hell of a job!
I use a ton of their apps and if there is a new feature one of those version updates brings they're pretty quick to theme it.
A great deal of the app updates are just minor silly things and when they open up the apks to theme they'll even say in their thread how that version update was nothing major at all!
TBO all the way!

Does anyone know of a free app , that i can use that will take my voice messages for me , rather than using the one that Vodafone UK offer , i am on Pay as you go , they charge 35p for checking my voice mails , issue been , i need Vodafone , due to the poor signal from other providers in my area.
So a app that takes my messages for me would be ideal....oddly enough i have checked the google store for my android phone and can find nothing , i would of thought this would of been a fairly simple app and a good one for someone to of already written.!! I have tried to use a couple of them , but they tend not to work or have not been supported for a long time .
Youmail? I've used it forever.

thank you, but sadly googlestore says it is not available in my country, that been the UK.
But oddly enough, searching for Youmail popped up a app called PF Voicemail plus
Which looks interesting, I can't test until tomorrow though, but looks to have potential
I found this while browsing the G3 forum.

I found that the play store AT&T Visual voicemail wouldn't work for me on G3 ROMs, while this one does. Just use the APK only and not the ODEX. Push it to SYSTEM\APP and set permissions to 644 and reboot.

This also works on stock AT&T D80020Y. Does not require root, just install like a normal apk. I like this version better than the one on the play store. The icon also show the number of messages with a bubble.
has this been confirmed to be working on cloudy G3 V2??? unable to play the audio.

I am not sure....I have strictly been on stock for awhile. Have you tried the one in the play store? It was just updated a few days ago, with bug fixes and added features.

did it worked for you?
I left myself a test message, and I see the text transcript but the app has to be fc after freezing. Upon relaunch, pressing play yields no sound. I see the speaker icon within the app has a line through it so as to indicate that sound is muted; my sound is on and unmuted.
Edit.. I pressed that speaker icon, but no sound was played.

Are you on Cloudy G3 2.0? Seems like a no go on that ROM. I had no problem up to 1.2, and no problem on stock. I think Cloudy's 2.0 is based on the G3 mini, since the hardware is closer to our G2, but seems to have broken the visual vmail app.

Yeah, I'm on Cloudy G3 v2.0. Damn, what a shame. At least, the text transcription works, so I will continue to use that.

When I go to the playstore and try to install the Amazon app, it says that the app is not compatible with the ROM, any idea?
No one else has this problem? Just to add, I am on Stock Cyanogen 38R with unlocked bootlader and rooted. And I am based in India so India Play Store.
Are you talking about the Amazon App Store app? I've been running it on this device since day one, but I sideloaded it.

This happened to me when I changed the DPI. Happens with some apps. If this is the case with you, then try setting back to stock DPI which is 480. You can then change it back after you've installed it and it should still run fine.

Is this a separate apk? Wondering why it is not working from the Google Play store, any one else facing this issue?
I am receiving similar errors but with all Amazon apps except the amazon app that allows you to look at your orders and search amazon.com. The app store, music app and the cloud drive photo storage app all crash as soon as I try to sign in. Im running stock 38R as well and I had the same problem prior to updating to 38R. On the Oneplus Forums it seems lots of people have been having problems with Amazon apps, but no one has had any clue as to why or how to fix it. Hoping someone over here can shed some light on the subject!
