If you get error like "An error has occured while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software." or your phone doesn't turn on, but you can get in to download mode you can unbrick your phone. It's 100% working on european models, but you can try with others.

Maybe try find new .pit or new firmware :/
Unfortunately I had to go to the service with it. They put the original manufacturer's firmware with a different program ,something more complicated than Odin that is prepaid. So in almost 5 years of flashing, rooting and messing with Android,I found my match.I still remember the ol' S8000,(not an Android,HTC Desire was the first,Android),I think among the first ones I ever flashed. Now I switched to the dark side, let's see if it's worth doing that.
Please, I need the correct firmware for Galaxy S6 SM-G920F but on the back/body it is written SM-G920FD

I recently bought a Galaxy S6 and have discovered that it has some weird ass Chinese firmware which is very frustrating.
I would love some help rooting the phone or flashing a different ROM to it since it's pretty useless to me.
A couple things I've noticed so far is that the model number on the back says SM-G920F while in the settings it says SM-G9200!!
Also it doesn't seem to have download mode, when I press power + volume down + home button it boots into a menu with a bunch of chinese that I dont understand...
It says it's running Android version 5.0.2
Baseband version: G9200ZCU1AOD9,G9200ZCU1AOD9
Kernel version
3.10.54
[email protected]#16
Fri Jun 5 16:07:57 CST 2015
Build Number
LRX22G.G9200ZCU1AOD9
Custom build version
SEPF_SM_G920F_5.0.2_0008
I would love to root the phone but my firmware version doesnt seem to match any of the rootable ones
Sounds rather shady, but if the phone truely is G920F, you should have little issue installing the unbranded firmware.
Checkout these two threads. They might help.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...al/howto-flash-g92xf-t-tripping-knox-t3158606
As a side note, the reason PingPongRoot does not work, is because your kernel build date is June 9; the exploit was matched May 15

Oh yeah it's ultra shady, but I'm like 95% sure its a legit S6!
I sure hope installing different software is a breeze, but for now I'm still confused because none of those firmwares match the firmwares listed, and I really don't wanna brick my phone.
Also if I figure out which firmware to flash I can't get into ODIN!! So how can I flash?
Thank you very much for the reply
I found the firmware my phone is running!!!! It is the China (Open China) firmware for the SM-G9200 and the build number matches mine.
I can't post the link but if you search for SM-9200 on Sammobile you can find my build
However my phone physically says SM-G920F on the back... I only decided to search through the SM-G9200 because thats the model number listed under about phone.

Since your phone says on the back G920F you should install the firmware for the international edition.
There is a variety to choose from, but the unbranded firmware would be best.
G920FXXU2COH2 is the latest for G920F
Give it a try, but be cautious.
Follow the instructions in the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/general/stock-firmware-official-stock-firmware-t3086387
An app that would give you far more information on the phone is here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo&hl=en

You are right about it showing a bunch of firmwares, but it has a link to a webpage that gives clear instructions on how to use/install the firmware, right between the warning and the disclaimer.

So i bought a used s6 sm920f internation version with android 6.0.1 and a samsung acount lock. The guy on ebay said he bought it and the guy he bought it from won't help hom, so he sells it now.
Because it was cheap and I often flashed some phones I thought it would be easy to bypass. But I haven't found a way even after houndret tutorials, so I wanted to flash a stock firmware through odin, but when I started the download and failed with the message: " fail device: 3 binary: 2" and I don't know what to do now. It was a 5.1.1 rom and I checked the drivers and it was recognized as Samsung Mobile USB CDC Composite Device and as com4 or com3 in odin.
I can enter the recovery and download mode.
How can i get th device working normal now. I don't care if I have to install a custom rom and not a stock rom, just anything that works!
Thanks in advise!

Sorry. Did it show reactivation lockn in download mode?.
Edit: Again sorry. As the title say it is.
You need to find the last firmware the phone on. That's an issue because you'll never know without booting into android. Have tried smart switch?.

YAY! Because I was able to change the samsung mail before I flashed my phone, but it said processing fail. But after I downloaded the rom I had to put in the password but for my own mail and IT WORKED!!!
Hi everyone!
I'm trying to root my G930F running 6.0.1. I downloaded the corresponding CF-Auto-Root from https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/ and flashed it using the integrated Odin. After that my phone didn't boot anymore. I got an exception from the bootloader (same as in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/s7-edge-bug-t3331878).
Luckily I was still able to get into download mode. So installed TWRP and flashed SuperSU (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/development/recovery-official-twrp-herolte-t3333770). Flashing SuperSU yielded some exceptions.
After a restart, my phone was working again and I was very relieved. Still the phone is not rooted. So I'm wondering what I am doing wrong, how can I root my phone?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Wow, you are fast, thank you for taking the time! I used the Odin that came with the CF-Auto-Root. The file is called "Odin3-v3.10.6.exe", so I guess it's the wrong version. Do you think I should try again with the newer version? After the first attempt I'm a bit scared I could brick my phone.
Do you have a link to the appropriate Odin verison?
Just out of curiosity, do you know the reason, why it doesn't work with older versions of Odin?
As the phone is important for me, I tried hard not to be stupid and to follow the guides. I checked multiple sources, but I didn't come across the information about a specific version of Odin. Normally I use guides from xda-developers as they are good and reliable. The info thread links to the following thread for rooting: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/development/sm-g930-exynos-cf-auto-root-t3337353
There was no mention of a specific Odin version. I'm not trying to blame my mistake on someone else, just trying to find out how I can prevent a similar mistake the next time.
Ok, found a credible source for the download: http://odindownloader.com/download/odin3-v3-12-5
Got there starting from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odin_(firmware_flashing_software)
I'm always a bit paranoid I could get some virus instead of the legit software.

I guess just reading through threads, not just the main post, and if unsure, make a post in that thread asking what you are unsure about before jumping in
This is my copy of 3.12.3
Code:
https://mega.nz/#!acoGhA7a!17OPP5A1g9d7-GxAqCbjXFpmYfO7CgAHNcaZxqEkOao
Not sure why older versions are not compatible, I assume newer phone model & new(ish) Android version = New ODIN version needed to support them
Make sure you use the latest version of CF -Auto Root for your model S7 too (G930F)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/development/sm-g930-exynos-cf-auto-root-t3337353
Download
https://download.chainfire.eu/929/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-herolte-heroltexx-smg930f.zip
You are my hero! Now it works and is rooted. So the problem really was the outdated version of Odin that came with CF-Auto-Root.

This is for the International SM-G930F/FD/X, Korean SM-G930K/L/S, and Canadian SM-G930W8 Exynos models only! Do not flash on S7 edge or Qualcomm models!

can i use those combination file and stock firmware for n920v ? im also running on 7.0 and its really hard finding files for the n920v

Hi, basic problem is my note 5 doesnt get detected in any OS even with all the samsung drivers.. (kies, switch, samsung)
I can see from android recovery that it says: 7.0/NRD90M/N920IDVU3CQH2
So i believe I need this: http://www.galaxynote5update.com/galaxy-note-5-sm-n920i-stock-firmware/n920idvu3cqh2/
My questions I guess are:
1. Is it "normal" as the phone is "frp'ed", does it mean it wont get detected by the O/S?
2. IF i was able to have the O/S aware of my phone.. would I just need the "original firmware - as above" OR do I need the firmware + combination rom?
3. Has the "920i" been successfully un-frp'ed.. I cant find anything on the net..
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated..
Thanks!

Hello, My Sprint S7 was frp locked and I wanted to sim unlock it. I downloaded odin v3.12. ADB does not see the phone. I flashed with a firmware file. It is now in a boot loop where it says system install. At one time it came up and said it failed and to use Smart Switch emergency repair. I downloaded smart switch and it says unsupported device. I can put the phone in download mode. I have searched and gotten firmware. Everything I try fails in odin. Is it bricked for good or is there a way to fix it? Are there reputable companies that can unbrick it for a small fee? This site is tough to navigate and everytime I search it seems I come up with another place. One had a link to download firmware to flash and fix bricked phone but when I tried to open it my antivirus said it was full of adware. The phone is SM-G930P running 7.0. I was going to flash to a universal one or at&t. I can try odin and screenshot the results if I need to. I am willing to try about anything. Thanks in advance for any help. I have another one (they came as a pair) it is not frp locked but is simlocked. Not blacklistedd but it does show an unpaid balance. I cannot get a hold of the person I bought them from. I know what to check now though. Lesson learned.

The saga continues. I did download stock firmware. It still failed when trying to flash with Odin. I can get it to load the recovery menu and the download menu now. Before the recovery menu would not load. on the log the last two things say
xbl.elf
FAIL! (Auth)
I tried Kies and Switch, neither support the device. I am currently downloading a stock rom from SamFirm, once I figured out the exact way to type on model and region code. I will try that in a little while and search for odin auth fials for the s7.
Thanks again for the help. I have learned quite a bit and it is fascinating. Any thoughts on the fail would be greatly appreciated. I hope after I get the stock rom back I can find the correct process to unlock it.
