I am reprogramming a GUI that runs within a home control app which used to run on a DROID X.
With the DROID X, the usable resolution (minus the top bar) was 480w x 816h.
I have now switched to a RAZR MAXX HD and need to redo the project to match the new resolution.
I'm having a hard time finding the usable resolution on the RAZR MAXX HD, because whereas the DROID X had hard buttons at the bottom, the RAZR MAXX HD has soft keys that are part of the screen.
The specs for the RAZR MAXX HD are 720 by 1280, but does that include the area at the bottom with the soft keys?
I couldn't find any info about this on the web.
Does anyone know what the usable resolution of the RAZR MAXX HD is without the top and bottom bars?
Any help would be most appreciated!!!
You can find out what the resolution of the soft keys online.

I accidentally posted this in General first. Can someone please delete it from there? My apologies and thank you.
On the Moto forums, someone mentioned this regarding creating custom wallpaper that spans across all home pages:
"1440x1135 then add 49 pixels to the top and 96 pixels to the bottom to "pad" the images to compensate for the blacked out notification and tool bar areas."
Can anyone confirm the values for the top and bottom bars?
Spec wise, there's very little difference between these two phones. If you take out the hardware customisation side of the Moto X. Both have the X8 processor, software for always listening and gesture controls such as flicking wrists to start the camera. I'm not sure what the real advantages are of the Moto X over the Droid Maxx? I'm really liking the huge battery life of the Droid Maxx though.
Having said that, I'm in the UK and it looks like Motorola won't be bringing either of these devices in their current form to the UK (big boooooooooooooo to Motorola).

There is a device comparison thread....Here
Hello, it's my first post ....
I planning purchase a Razr Maxx HD , in ebay , I live in Spain, this model not available here.
I own an Iphone 5 , and, I tired of charging every day or less. Autonomy is important for my work.
My wife has an S3 ... i can see the diference and noticeable of pixels in s3. OF course iphone 5 is perfect
Whats about the screen of Maxx HD ? is better than s3?
Thanks
If you like the iPhone they make cases that double the battery life.

Hello, yes, i see this cases, but it make the device very ungly..... and iphone's screen of 4' is a bit little for web and multimedia.....
Well the screen on the Motorola isn't quite as nice as Samsung so if your expecting almost iPhone quality it ain't happening.

I don't know about you but the iPhone 5 display is annoying. Who wants letterboxes on full screen hd movies? Not me. It is a nice phone don't get me wrong but I think the display on the razr hd is just as good as the s3.

I'm not talking about letterbox's I'm just talking about pixel density and clarity.

Hi,
I just bought a Moto G LTE, and before I had a regular Moto G. My old Moto G had a screen with vivid colors and very good brightness and contrast. But to my surprise, my new Moto G LTE has a screen with pale colors, and very poor contrast and brightness. This does not prevent the use of the device, but it is a drop in the quality of the screen compared to the first Moto G.
Is this normal?
Regards.

it's normal..
You just got unlucky. Maybe thay unit barely passed the quality test so it was installed in your device. There's nothing normal in that and I don't think you could return it in. Also it could be possible that the manufacturer of the display is different between the Moto G LTE and non-LTE. Sorry man.
