Odin problem cant downgrade help please - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note5

Im on 6.0.1 and i do not like it at all. Always been a fan of 5.1.1. I use odin to attempt a downgrade and it fails. Gives me the SW check, fail error every time. Also when i used flashfire itd work throughly and show the note 5 boot logo but thatd be all. Any help for me here? Really wanna go back to 5.1.1. Was able to get back on a rom and here i am. Hopefully someone can help me here.

If someone has a way to do this
If someone has any insight and links files to do this, please help me. Have not had a sammy since the note 2 so some of this is kinda new for me. Reason for wamtomg lollipop is i love lollipop over MM. Plus more rom options.

I had a similar problem. Rooted, could flash custom ROM's but couldn't ODIN flash back to stock. Found if I used the PAC from this site http://dl.samfirm.net/page/2 I could muscle through the flash. The PAC forced the PIT file, which formats the memory, unlike what recovery can do. Be sure all your files are backed-up because this will erase everything nd return your phone to stock (except knox).
They may charge a few dollars to download, but well worth it in my experience.

need the stock firmware for my sgh-t959v

i was really really stupid and decided to try and install darky's resurrected rom on my new sgh-t959v. After doing it and it not going past the 'installing csc' prompt i decided to try and mount a different pit. i got a working setup out of luck, but now my sim card doesn't work. i got a new sim card and still no signal. i only managed to write down the baseband version before messing it up like this. now that i've read that mixing a pit file from one region with a csc file from another is dangerous. i just need the stock pit csc and phone files. it's been driving me nuts because i just got this phone and all of a sudden can't use it. i've learned my lesson but i really need to fix it. i don't think darky's will work on mine since it's so new.
btw i found the source for my phone,(can't put link here because i don't have over 8 posts) my model and version are listed there. the only problem is i'm a noob at developing(getting into it) and can't compile all this stuff. is there a guide to compiling it? i was hoping to compile the source from that site and try to port it. how would i go about making the source into the pit csc and modem files?
sorry for such a ****ty problems guys. hope someone can help thanks in advance.
super buuuuump!!!
bump, i want my foooone herpaderp!
what's the difference between pit files that are 512, 803, 513? what's this number represent?
so i just tried to flash some other 'custom' rom that was perfect for my phone. i tried it with a different pit file that i thought would work. but now the device doesn't respond to anything! i turned it off and it won't turn on at all now not even to download mode. i'm freaking out what do i do!!!
welp i didn't want to wait. just to update everyone i took it to a local tech who flashed it to stock but couldn't fix the fudged bootloader. i messed it up when it failed a rom flash and i pulled it out in the middle of flashing. so i'm sending it back and getting another one by tuesday
yes, i need it too.
Same problem, anyway know where download this firmware???
No Custom ROM
A word to the wise: The Samsung sgh-t959v for t-mobile does not allow you to put a custom ROM. If anyone knows how to, please advice. I have a new sgh-t959v and don't want to make the same mistake of bricking it where "adb reboot download" command didn't even work because the phone died.

[Q] The more I read, the more confused I get

New to Android, about 3 weeks now with my Rogers 1727R. I've been trying to grab all the good files and build my understanding of returning my phone to it's stock ROM if I have to return it or if I brick it etc. But I seem to have downloaded, from this forum, so many files, with different names and files sizes, I'm confused about what does what. So I'm asking any senior people here if they can tell me what I have, what it does, and whether I need it. Here goes:
Stock_ROM_SGH-I727R-UCKJ2-k0nane.7z - Think this is a stock ROM but un-bloated. It's 257 MB.
i727_stock_kernel_odin.tar - It's 10 MB, appears to be a stock AT&T ROM, but perhaps just the kernel, not the whole ROM?
Stock Recovery.tar - It's 6.08 MB. Downloaded it today.
Nandroid backup - 841 Megs with data.ext4.tar, system.ext4.tar, boot.img and recovery.img which I thought was a complete image of my ROM.
Look at the size differences. From 6 MB up to 841 MB. What the heck are all these files?
please dont cross-post.....
I was wondering the same thing. I rooted my Skyrocket but in the instance that ICS is available before more custom roms, I may want to unroot. I can't find much information on this. Only how to root for which there is good information and tutorial videos. The size of the different recovery files seems to vary quite a bit.
You do not.need to unroot to take an ota update. You just cant delete any bloat. And gota have stock recovery..... so freeze bloat dont delete. But if you do you can always odin the stock tar
I thought when you flash ClockWorkMod (recovery.tar) that that replaces your stock recovery. Or do you still have the stock recovery just with CWM added?

Yes when you flash CWM you replace stock, do not take an update if you are using CWM, flash back to stock recovery first if you think you just have to have the #.#.2 instead of the #.#.1, to me its not worth it. Once I flash I don't go back to stock. The developers here are amazing.
@ harry_fine, be careful, or you are going to end up with a $200 paper weight. I know how confusing this stuff looks when you first start. Do you're research, make a plan before downloading random stuff you know nothing about. I like to play it safe. I read the posts in the developers section a few times a day for a week before I even start to flash a phone. Most all developers that post things give a very in depth description of what it is they are making available READ IT ALL, and follow directions posted. If i see something that looks interesting I just let it sit a couple days and read what people post about it. If all seems good and there are no major problems I give it a try if not ill let it pass. I have yet to brick a phone (knock on wood). I hope this helps.
BTW
Stock_ROM_SGH-I727R-UCKJ2-k0nane.7z -its a ROM, the post where you got it should tell you whats in it
i727_stock_kernel_odin.tar - this is a stock kernel, I like to think of them as drivers for you phone, install with odin
Stock Recovery.tar - this is a stock recovery you need this if you have installed CWM but want to instal an update, install with odin
Nandroid backup - this is something you should make using CWM before you start flashing a ROM just encase the ROM jacks up you phone you can reinstall
Thanks for explaining that. I am still trying to get the hang of everything myself. I read the Rooting instructions and watched several how to videos before I even considered taking the plunge. I am still a little confused about some of the terminology but I am learning by the day.
The only reason I would consider going back to stock would be if ICS is available before CM7 or CM9 on Skyrocket and then I would want to try it out.
So, if I were to flash back to "stock recovery.tar" (Does the name matter at all?) and take the update, that would would mean I was unrooted again right? Then I would undergo the same procedure to flash cwm and then Superuser?
If I use a custom kernal can that stay the same or does it need to be stock as well before installing an update or new rom?
I don't pay that much attention to the "return to stock threads" since I would never risk it for an update, even ICS, but from what I understand If you wanted to take the update you would need to put the stock recovery (name may not matter but why risk it) and stock kernel back in. You would still be rooted, and need only install CWM if you wanted to instal another ROM later. I think. If I am wrong someone will correct me, but that should be that.
Then how does one completely unroot if they wanted (or needed) to?
To unroot you odin the stock tar

The stock tar in the unroot reaturn to stock fix soft brick thread. Is the factory firmware the phone comes with.....stock recovery not rooted

Stuck in boot loop after repartitioning.

Hi,
I was having wifi issues after flashing multiple stock roms, and kernels. So, in a fit, I decided to repartition and start fresh. I know, it wasn't my brightest moment. Any way, the thing is, all the roms that I have, comes with only the pda file.
Now, I need any stock firmware with modem and csc files, so that I can get my phone back. Any firmware that comes with these two files will do. I can't download multiple firmware to check as my connection speed is 256 kbps only. I would prefer if someone can help me get these files.
Also, if someone can tell me, whether I will need a new bootloader too? If yes, then where can I find the same.
Many thanks!!!
XXKPE comes with all the files. Use that.

Thanks a lot, buddy. Will download it and check it out. Hopefully wifi works after this, or else I will be screwed. Just got my warranty expired too.
Yay! My phone is back to stock, and wifi works too.:victory: Mods, please close this thread.

Trouble flashing recovery file attempting to root, now I can't get past the first scn

So I just revived a replacement phone the other day, it came preloaded with 6.0.1. I wanted to root and flash a rom so I ended up finding a guild online and started to follow it. It had me flash a file via odin and after it would just stick on the tmobile logo with the blue led on. So I looked around and found another recovery file and tried that, now it gets stuck on the first screen with a warning that its not sandroid enforcing or something.
I am having a heck of a hard time finding the files to restore everything back to 6.0.1 so I can have another go but can't seem to find the files I need. I think I need 2 files, one for the boot part and one for the rom?
Please help or i'll be forced to use an iPhone!

Flash stock firmware from sammobile.com. download most current, extract, place phone in download mode, have a GOOD USB cable, add file to AP section of Odin, and flash. Once you get fixed then I'll help you root or whatever you're trying to do. If you have any issues returning to stock, please copy Odin logs so I can see where Odin failed.

I think this is what you're looking for- you'll have to copy and paste into your browser. "https://samsung-firmware.org/download/SM-J327P__/092p/VMU/J327PVPU3AQL3/J327PSPT3AQL3/"

Edit: This stock firmware dose have the stock recovery dosen't it ???
Well i would also like to remove twrp because i can't find the needed zip files in order to root my device twrp failed me in that retrospect.
Plus now i am wondering what use it could have when stock recovery is not that bad actually.
Very disappointed i did all of this in hopes of rooting this phone and i voided my 1 year warranty also when i flashed it my phone was very unstable i had to wipe it.And all i got was nothing but atleast the phone still works.:good:
