Hello, this mod turns your front earpiece speaker to a loud speaker for a surround experience.
Unzip the file, take the mixer-paths witch is inside the file and using a root explorer copy-paste the mixer paths in system/etc.Reboot the device
root device only
at your own risk
Is there the risk to break the speaker?
Edit: i tried the mod and, yes, it works, but sound quality is bad.
Volume tweak to surround profile.
There is too much gain on the speakers, introducing distortion. Open the surround mode's mixer_paths.xml file and search "LGE Mono Speaker" for the section that controls the volume during audio playback. There are two lines in the surround file version that look like this:
Code:
<ctl name="RX7 Digital Volume" value="88" />
<ctl name="RX1 Digital Volume" value="90" />
RX7 controls the back speaker volume. RX1 controls the earpiece volume. Default value is 84. To balance the sound in landscape mode while maintaining decent volume (without signifcant distortion), try changing the values to this:
Code:
<ctl name="RX7 Digital Volume" value="80" />
<ctl name="RX1 Digital Volume" value="88" />
You may adjust values as needed (rebalance RX7 up or down one to suit preference for volume vs stereo balance, take RX1 down one more to reduce distortion more, etc.) but these numbers seem better than the original surround profile.

I'll try it, I could hear distortion clearly (although the distortion was less clear than other mixer path profiles) when cranking up the volume listening to music. I'll try to respond with my results, kill me if I forget

Huh. That's funny, I was thinking about saying what audio files I was listening to, but decided to not do it. I used Flacs and only very few 320kbps mp3s, and I'm using Poweramp and dolby atmos. Sound quality is great at any volume [both on speakers and on earphones (the ones that come with the phone)], so thanks for your mixer paths edit.
Dolby atmosphere is a must with any of the sound mods. Viper4Android is also available.
They have there threads in apps.

So far the bravia engine works. thanks
Not exaggerating when I say this...but damn the sound is louder and clearer. I just need some beats headphones lol

Would have to say the same. Not noticing a difference. Android did optimize 40 some "things" after flash, but not exactly seeing or hearing any difference. Using trickdroid 4.0 so not sure why, or if at all, they would be conflicting. What apps would we need to look for to know its their? I don't see any new, but android did.

Same here.
I really don't mean to sound like I'm pushing this mod down or being a douche .
Just trying to give feed back.
Also idk if everyone else's speaker is also pretty low like mine or not but I'm using volume+ hoping to increase my volume. (Which it moderately did) but the volume mod from here caused that app (volume+) to no longer work.

Even though I flashed this with NO ISSUES whatsoever, please, for the love of God and all that is holy in the Android universe: Make a backup before flashing this! I am not responsible for what you do to your phone.
That being said: Guys...I have found what could quite possibly be the best sound mod for our phones ever. :victory:
1) first go to noskojv's thread and thank HIM NOT ME! I didn't write this mod but when I find something awesome I feel the need to share.
2) next if you have CWM go here to flash it.
3) if you're like me and you have TWRP go here to flash it.
Basically fauxsound will increase your gain (loudness) and Beats EQ will "clean up" any distortion. Beats EQ alone will not make your speaker louder.
To access the screens you see attached:
For the Beats EQ/ Music FX menu from the home screen select menu >> settings >> my device >> sound >> music effects
For the Beats EQ preset menu simply open your app drawer and find the app called BeatsEQ
Enjoy my Sprint brothers! :victory:
I also included a screenshot of my fauxsound settings.
Note: faux123's kernel OR ktoosez's kernel (which I use) found here and fauxsound are REQUIRED for fauxsound to work. You may use Beats EQ without fauxsound but if your intent on using this mod is for a volume increase Beats EQ alone will not accomplish this.
****Fauxsound will not work with any other kernel.****
***Note: I'm pretty sure Beats EQ is for Touchwiz ROMs only!

what kernel are you using? and did you clear cache and dalvik when you installed? I get no force closes at all. What ROM are you running? Try and reboot and see if it clears up your issue. I've used volume+ and I can tell you this is definitely better. My ROM/Kernel setup is in my signature.

I do notice the difference more on my jbl bluetooth external speakers. there's more options like the strength of the eq setting and bass strength under the headphones and bluetooth tabs.
I think for Michael Bolton you'd love the 'R&B' setting the best. I listen to a lot of trip-hop and trance and it sounds great.

Ahh KT uses fauxsound. The link to download it from the market is in my OP.
I use fauxsound to increase my GAIN (make it louder) and essentially use this mod to reduce the distortion and the result is great sound. Even on the crappy speaker in the back of the phone.
Just embarrassed my friend with the HTC One. My speaker got WAY louder than his. And this makes my Beats headphones sound incredible
Ps. Used Fauxsound and Ktoonz kernel to increase speaker gain

You can try increasing the Max Gain value in Playback Gain Control of V4A, that should help, if all you require is higher volume..
And I would really recommend giving V4A another shot, the many options may seem intimidating at but once you try out different settings, you may come to love it (like I did ). Especially the convolver function, tty it out bro, you can find many good IRS samples all over the internet and here on XDA too.. I use BBE Generic Preset 4 myself..
I don't know much about other sound mods, sorry.. Hope this helps.

Different Kernels
Hi! I strongly recommend any kernel that you want for improving sound with your headphones, specially
Thunderzap v.4.1 r-2
or
Phantom v7.
If you have JB i recommend too the Phoenix Kernel for Xperia L, developed by the team of Navneet Suresh.
i recommend ViPER4Android :good:
Hey guys I just wanted to share I played around with the files and it was so hard to figure out how to get bass on this phone
I could enable temporary the bass with also mixer now I could enable permanently.
U will set the SAMPLERATE of the phone to
Frequencies:
KHZ_192
KHZ_96
KHZ_48
And set FORMAT to
Bit Depth:
S16_LE
S24_LE
Navigate to system/etc/mixerpath.xml
Open and
Scroll down to speaker settings in like in Screenshot
And put these lines
<ctl name="SLIM_0_RX SampleRate" value="KHZ_192" />
<ctl name="SLIM_0_RX Format" value="S24_LE" />
Just add and configure with viper4android
Because the Sony Walkman equalizer don't work after this.
U will hear the bass greatly
Enjoy
PS: it will work on all Kk devices based on Sony firmware
Included
Sony Xperia Z1 Compact
Sony Xperia Z Ultra
Etc
Not sure if it work with cyanogenmod roms just test

Edit; Actually , if you turn off clear audio it works again. , also do you think it might work if we add those bits to the headphone section? With a few adjustments.
And you have to adjust The speaker with viper if you have it Volume boosted by the way.

Nope
Only these
KHZ_48
KHZ_96
KHZ_192
And for Format only (this will activate Bass)
S16LE = low bass (nearly no bass)
S24LE = high bass (great bass but with distortion)

That's changing the frequencies and bit depth played by the speaker, just so you know. Thanks for this find!
propably all of those will work:

Thanks that's cool I will try these values and see if it will change I will update thread with more information for more clarification and I will upload my own modded mixerpath.xml cuz I put everything to limit but without distortion and sound good without quality lose again thanks
EDIT; it don't work I tried so only the bit depth I post and frequency are valid I don't know how to add more values I think it's in kernel? Or I don't know but still main thing we reached to get more bass on loudspeaker and only problem is to reduce the noise and bass strength, just lower volume is not possible cuz u will be not able to hear anything so I hope good devs can do something with these to get clear bass and clear voice playback on this speakers like the g2 or note 3

Is it possible to change the recording volume of the microphone too this way?

Yes but it's another section
Go to all mic section
Speaker-mic section
Stereo-mic etc
Everything related to it and change the
ADC Volume .. It have different names
ADC1
ADC2
ADC3
ADC4
ADC5
So most probably it's always at 12 just trigger it to 19
Same for camcorder-mic
You will have better sound record push it to 19 and the DEC3 Volume to 89 normally it's 83 or 82

Could you make a new list of the bitrate and frequencies that work? I'll try that on the Z1 and report here.

Yup, let me know how do you want it to be changed in percentage and where calls/videos/what?

Exactly what i was looking for, although it's a bit hard to try because of the problem occuring when there's alot of bass around. I'm talking about the recording volume when shooting vids btw. What's the difference between stereo and speaker mic?

Video's, and like i said, a little lower (20-30% maybe?, so if there's alot of bass around, the mic doesn't distort all the way around. I'm also not very good at editing stuff like this, so thanks if you can help with this! I bet there's more people who love a mod like this, since i heard some people talking about distorted sound with vids.

I edit the OP just check I tried all other settings like in the picture but I don't work only the listed one, look
16 bit depth it's to less and
24 bit depth it's to high
So 20 bit would be normal bass and acceptable so maybe one of our developers with more knowledge know how to add more bit depth and frequency? I don't know

So you've tried any other frequencies/depths? What were the results? No sound at all or what? It works great with 192kHz/24bits on the Z1. I'll try the other ones after I get some rest as I'm tired as hell now

From what I've found and tried I personally think the best way to increase the volume is by using vioer4 android it give a excellent about of boost without having to worry about distortion you must go into advanced settings for the most control
Just my opinion

Or just download Volume Boost LG G3 from the play store...
^ This free app is the easiest and best one to use, and now supports aux in as well..
definitely deserves the beer donation..
The only bad thing about V4A is it adds noises

I don't believe the Aux works for Bluetooth, but I could be wrong. Aux would be my guess. If that doesn't work try this mod:

Well I can't tell you're wrong but best way to increase it is by finding and modifying to system file or config file that keeps the values stored.

I rarely trust these apps since many just decrease the volume and if you boost it it just turns the volume up by the regular sound volume controller . though these was non root.
If it uses root than it is a good solution if you only want to boost the volume.
But I stick with v4a I find it good with all its other good sound enhancement features.
