I want to do that same thing. Haven't gotten around to buying the reader, plus I don't like paypal. I will try to swing by china town today to see if they have one there.
But it's somewhat easy (in theory) to do. Buy a reader, extract info through softwarre and dump on a empty sim card.
Don't know if it being a v2 or v3 will limit the ability to do so.
Do you a link or a name for the "Reader" and do you know if it actually works?

- 17th Generation MagicSIM card (manufacturer claimed)
- 500 entries SIM card phone book storage: 250 regular + 250 STK encrypted/secure phone book
- Calling card prefix auto dealing (STK feature)
- Stores up to 50 SMS messages on SIM
- 128K high quality writable SIM card (software and USB reader/writer included)
- USB reader/writer included
- Automatic dual operator / dual phone number stand-by features (periodically switches between specified phone numbers so that you can accept calls from both numbers)
- Change active phone number without rebooting the cell phone
- Call history not affected by changing between phone numbers
.
- Note: the included software scans your existing operator's SIM card for the internal Ki number (i.e. an operator password). Not all Ki number can be scanned. DX did not manufacture this product so we suggest you to research on this device before purchasing.

They do work. Just don't know how much. Hopefully I get one today

STK Menu Creation

Hello
I want to create an STL or Sim application toolkit, which will create a menu in SIM card and you can set to send USSD data when a menu created. I tried everything on google, nothing works.
I have Smart Card reader, I have empty/blank SIM cards, I have working SIM cards and even if needed I can send Operator SMS.
But how? There is NO ANY document in internet (at least I was not able to find).
Please help me about it, thanks.

[Q] retrieve contacts only from ATT sim on D2G

Is this feasible? I am trying to export the contacts from an old SIM card using the D2G as sort of an "adapter".
Insert the SIM card, then start the Manage SIM Card app, it comes preinstalled.
«Import SIM Card» will let you import contacts from the card. You don't need to perform band unlock for this to work, although I'm not sure if it's possible to import contacts if your phone is SIM locked.

Hm. If I've never bothered to deal with the SIM card feature I would assume that my phone is still SIM locked. It is rooted though does that make a difference?
The SIM lock can only be removed by entering the unlock code. There is no way to circumvent it.
You might be able to get the contacts from the SIM if you bypass the SIM unlock screen, though.
Well, I'm not seeing a "SIM manager" application. There is an applications installed called "SIM Toolkit" which I definitely didn't install, and doesn't seem to open up any options.
The phone seems to support SIM devices.. :

/proc/device-tree/[email protected]/[email protected]/name
/proc/device-tree/[email protected]/[email protected]/type

Are you on 4.5.x or on 2.4.x firmware? “Manage SIM Card” appears in my app drawer on 4.5.608 and it's a stock application. I don't remember its name in 2.4.x, alas.
The app won't do anything if you don't have a SIM card installed, however. Upon inserting a SIM card and powering the device up it should ask you for the SIM unlock PIN (obtainable from VZW for free provided the phone is active, and you have been a good customer and paid all your bills on time). It won't happen if your device is in CDMA only mode; the SIM card reader is only activated in Global and GSM modes.
settings > about phone > android version = 2.3.7
I'm guessing the sim card manager is a few versions newer :-/
You're looking at Android version, not System version.
There is no official firmware for the DROID2 GLOBAL that runs Android 2.3.7. You're probably using custom firmware (CM7?), and you should refer to its developers to learn how to import contacts from the SIM card.
Most probably the contacts app supports it itself.

[Q] Contact List Identification

On my old phone S4 mini Duos, the displayed contacts are identified by different icons: SIM1, SIM2, Device and Whatsapp. I keep domestic numbers on SIM1 and overseas numbers on SIM2. I will also keep country code prefixed domestic numbers on SIM2 such that I need not manually add the country code to make calls when I am travelling.
But on S6 this feature is gone. All contacts are sorted alphabetically and there is no SIM or device icons to identify which one is prefixed and which one is not.
Now I can only choose the option to display only SIM2 contacts when travelling and SIM1 on returning home. I appreciate any ideas to help me regain the display method on my old phone.

How do I make a call from a phone through a different SIM that is on my tablet?

This issue is that i have 2 sim cards.
sim 1 - work number
sim 2 - private number
my private sim is located at my phone
my work sim is located at my tablet
i forword calls from work sim to private sim.
i want to be able to make outcalls from my work sim (even when i am not near the tablet), via app or something.
like sim 1 -> sim 2 -> out call
I want that the outcall will show my sim 2 (number).
if there is a solution for sms too, that would be great too))
i think that there is no built in solution, maybe just an app.
I think that is common problem for people with work phone and private phone (that want to go only with one).
Please advice)))
P.s.: I have samsung s9 (single sim)
anyone?
