I want to do that same thing. Haven't gotten around to buying the reader, plus I don't like paypal. I will try to swing by china town today to see if they have one there.
But it's somewhat easy (in theory) to do. Buy a reader, extract info through softwarre and dump on a empty sim card.
Don't know if it being a v2 or v3 will limit the ability to do so.
Do you a link or a name for the "Reader" and do you know if it actually works?

- 128K high quality writable SIM card (software and USB reader/writer included)
- USB reader/writer included

- Note: the included software scans your existing operator's SIM card for the internal Ki number (i.e. an operator password). Not all Ki number can be scanned. DX did not manufacture this product so we suggest you to research on this device before purchasing.

I am about to get a dual number Sim card for my phone, that is two phone numbers on one sim card simultaneously.
Now I know my really really old Motorola phone from 4 years ago had a simple function that translated the two numbers into "line 1" and "line 2" with ability to set different ringtones, etc for incoming calls and switching easily to make outgoing calls.
Does anyone know how this works on a Windows Mobile device? What kind of functionality does it provide?
I am running a Herald with WM6.
I would be interested too. I have a 8525 Cingy.
Phony-- Where did you get the Dual Line SIM? What carrier are you with? Will they activate more than 1 line on same SIM number?
DaddyGoFast, I am in China with China mobile but most carriers these days will provide you wih two numbers on one sim card if you just ask. Just call your service number.
There are other utilities you can buy that allow you to have multiple carriers or numbers on one sim card but those require that you switch by cycling power or using a piece of software, so in reality you can only use one number at a time.

We are only talking about 1 sim card here...
Sorry, misread the thread.
any updates on a two number sim card in a WinMo phone?
I made a telephone number porting from T-Mobile on Telering. (keep my phone number and a new sim by Telering receive)
In slot 1: I had a three-card (is with us in At a free data card.)
In slot 2: I have had the T-Mobile card!
Now I have put the new sim card from Telering in slot 1 and slot 2 is released. (since I 1000min, 1000 SMS and 1Gb of data have to 8 euros)
The Telering card is detected and displayed 3G.
When I turn on the data connection but I will not be connected.
I turn the card so Telering roaming Telering unleashed the hook in the Sim management under roaming data roaming, I am connected!
I immediately checked it in my Telering account whether costs incurred in Mb-no data are displayed without cost!
I want to call someone, of course I get the message that I am in roaming mode and I know if I want to continue doing this, the call is put through.
How can I adjust so without all that I have to activate the roaming.
've 4.1R2 Rom by Bruno on it.
Please help because I can not solve!

Hi,
I have a dual sim phone (AOSP 7.1.1 based Vernee Thor) and I have a small issue with my SIM cards. It is more or less just a cosmetical issue and not a functional one ... nevertheless annoying and probably of interest for more then just me, since it is related to a generic issue with SIM cards.
I have 2 sim cards from different providers. For SIM1 the number is not displayed unter SIM1 properties. SIM2 has a different provider, it displays the number under SIM2 properties. As far as I have invented so far the number has to be stored in SIM contact's entry #1 to be displayed, so this is missing for SIM1. Unfortunately I have not found any technical solution how to add/delete/change entries on SIM's contacts. The SIM toolkit app for the Dual SIM phone will not even display the contacts of the SIMs, the standard google contacts app can only export the SIM entries to a file, but can't import it. MyPhoneExplorer will not fix it. Also playstore apps can't deal with this issue - or at least I havn't found one.
I have found solution attempts that rely on old iPhone3 or old 3G mobiles (e.g. Nokia, Ericsson, Sony, ...), but this is all not based on Android and I do not have either an old iPhone3 nor any of those old 3G mobiles..
Is there someone around who has a solution how to get this issue fixed? Thanks a lot in advance!
I have Lenovo A Plus rooted by Supersu and plan to upgrade it to the pro version, in order to be able to set the pin-code to root-access. I have a task to make the SIM card binding to smartphones so that employees can not insert their SIM cards into them. Is it possible to do this? I mean, that the smartphone refuses to work with another SIM card.
Okay. I'll ask the question in a different way.
How in sh-script to get the serial number of the SIM card or phone number? If this is done, then I can put the script on the minute-by-minute execution and cyclically shutdown the phone if the SIM card number is not the one. Any ideas?
Hello,
I purchased that phone off eBay since it was listed as Dual sim, the sim tray support Sim+Sim/SD Card, but only has 1 IMEI, so inserting a sim card in the second sim slot, do nothing. I read that dual sim will be enabled with software update, but I updated software to September 1 security patch level, but nothing has changed.
Service provider software version is: SAOMC_SM-A536U1_OYM_XAA_12_0009 XAA/XAA/XAA
Maybe your card faces the wrong direction ? Contacts have to show to the outside.
Check in the settings menu 'connections->sim-card administration' if there is a (greyed out) second sim slot available and look at 'phone info->status information->IMEI-info' if there is a second slot entry with corresponding number just to be sure that there isn't a software issue.

No. There is no sim card manager settings. Sim card is inserted correctly, only one IMEI, so that's why 2nd SIM is not working
Expected that all sm-a536 devices support dual-sim. Maybe it's a restriction from your carrier or firmware since you still got the Sim+SD/Sim2 slot. Seems the us variants are a bit cut short with no unlockable bootloader ec..
Helloo!! Any progress on this? IF I install another version like the EU one, would I see the dual sim options? I can be believe the phone is hardware capable but the firmware blocks it
Hi every one !
Anyone has an idea of how to unlock the dualsim capability ? Maybe by flashing a different region/country firmware ?
Thanks !
I just checked for a software update and I got the Android 13 and UI 5 update (near 2GBs) and the dual sim capability was enabled with this update. A second IMEI appears and the 2 sim cards got both signal.
Before installing the update, I took out the SD card and placed a 2nd SIM. Don't know if that had something to do with the dual sim capability enabling.
The Dual Sim Capability is not the same as with other Samsungs. You have no option to set a SIM card as default for calls and text or always ask before making a call, and the other one as default for DATA, only as primary, and the primary is the default for everything. But with the Google phone APP I was able to set the SIM Settings to either one or always ask.
It doesn't have a separate Network Mode for secondary SIM either.

Glad I'm not alone in this. It's like pulling teeth with people convincing them there's an unlocked dual-sim us version sm-a536u1 (sm-a536uzkdxaa). Obviously Samsung is little help in this. I've removed the actual IMEI numbers for obvious reasons.
