I have a rooted Note5 that i cant unroot no matter what i do it just wont unroot (Odin always fails).
The phone restarts during call for no reason and i found out that its only when the screen is dark while on a call.
I cant even update my phone because it just wont install any PA no matter what i do.
I think there's something wrong with the Kernel or maybe the whole system is ****ed up because after i rooted everything started happening when my brother messed it all up, so my phone has a security "Device Manager" and after the root it said "threat found", to fix press restart so he did... after that my phone just went to Samsung logo and off again and again. So i went to Odin and tried a bunch of firmware until i got it to turn on. But ever since that i cant unroot and my phone keeps restarting during calls.
Please help with anything I'm willing to pay if necessary.
Also, im sure its just because its rooted but whenever the phone turns on it says in red "Kernel is not seandroid enforcing"
I've tried everything that i know, i wouldn't be posting if i haven't searched everything and everywhere.
Thanks

To fix your issues you are having you need to flash @jovy23 's stock-modified kernel in tarp recovery.
Here is the link to jovy23's stock rooted kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...ernel-stock-modified-kernel-touchwiz-t3194148
No need to unroot.
Good luck, Have a great day.

Do you have TWRP installed? You should know this if you are rooted.
The link I gave you (jovy23's) only has only ONE download link.
The download link is for the stock-modified kernel which you
need to copy to your phone's internal sdcard and flash it in twrp.
You don't need to do anything with Odin to fix the problem you
are having. You only need to flash the kernel using TWRP.
The download link is RED with BIG BOLD letters saying "DOWNLOAD". LOL

Ok ive done that before without knowing what i was doing now i know, but it still doesnt work, this is what i did.
Downloaded the kernel and ive tried 3 different TWRP Apps and it reboots my device and it takes to system recovery and i cant do anything from there except reboot, ive Pressed all 3 apply from... and it just gives me an action message that it failed to apply. Also At the bottom of system recovery theres a action message that says "dm-verity verification failed"
Idk what that is or if its normal but just letting you know just in case

I imagine you got it figured out by now but it sounds like you don't have TWRP installed. You do that with Odin, we all start somewhere so I am not going to say you should know this or that but I will say go back to the general section and follow one of the guides to get it set up. I would start over if I were you by following one of said guides.

I was attempting to get an insecure kernel onto my phone (I was really not very smart about it, barely knew anything about rooting and went ahead and did it anyway) And something went wrong- Odin spat out an error saying 0 complete/1 failed and when my phone wouldn't reboot, I took out the battery because I didn't want screen-burn overnight (which now I know was a retarded thing to do).
Whenever the phone boots It gets this message; "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again". And whenever I try to access the phone through odin, i get another error- it attempts to connect to the phone for like 15 mins then says "Device not responding- to resolve the issue, please reboot the device". This of course gives no yield, so I tried something else- I made a jig with 301k ohms of resistance, and tried using that. The only thing that this changes is when the phone reboots, instead of getting
Code:
ODIN mode
PRODUCT NAME: SGH-I727
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: NO
CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
I get
Code:
FACTORY MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SGH-I727
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: NO
CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
Any tips/pointers on what I could do? I really want to be able to use my phone again (for obvious reasons)

That's the problem- the phone never enters download mode. It just says "developer mode" in the top left, odin won't work on it at all.

Just tried it for a second time and it worked thanks so much
Now the phone boots up, but crashes immediately. I know this is because of the partial kernel I have installed- How would I be able to get the kernel on to the device if I can't access it's internal storage?

I may be wrong but don't you flash the custom recovery in Odin and then flash the kernel from within the recovery.

Yesterday I got the update on my S3. I am rooted and bootloader unlocked with EZ apps. when I got the update it went into EZ recovery and thinking maybe I could get the update I tried to install it. It looked like alot of it installed but it did kick me out in the end, or gave me an error or something. Anyway when I went to see if the update had gone through under info I saw I was on G1 still not G7 and it said I had an error 401. So I didn't think it had gone through. I tried to change my phone to CM-10 nightlies by invisiblek just now and followed all the steps in the tutorial and when I did my final reboot I get a exclamation point in a sign and a quote, "System software not authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on your phone. Please turn off your phone and go to the nearest Verizon Wireless store for help. I know there is a way to load to easy recovery and I will find that and go back to where I was but I thought I should post this as I have been researching quite a bit and hadn't seen this happen to anyone else. Maybe I missed it but just in case maybe this will help someone else. If someone could respond on how to boot into ez recovery I will do that or if someone has a different idea on what I should do I'm open to suggestions. Thanks in advance...
OK, read something about download mode so tried that. Power-Volume down-Home at same time. Screen came up asking if I wanted to install a custom OS and warning that a custom OS could be dangerous. Same exclamation point thing as not authorized so maybe another Verizon message? Anyway I said yes and it went to Downloading... screen and says do not turn off target. In the upper left hand corner it says Odin mode, product name: SCH-I535, Custom binaryDownload: no, Current Binary: Samsung official, System status: Official, Qualcomm secureboot: enable...
I'm guessing this is how you get into ODIN but as I have never done that and don't have the phone connected to my computer now I'm guessing it's safe to shut off my phone even though it says Do not turn off target!!!
Anyone know how I get to the bootloader? I'm guessing I can load my saved boot from there...UGH!
Tried shutting down phone but it won't. Do I have to remove battery?
Got Odin open but since my backup is a nandroid backup don't see how I can get to it through ODIN. I'm really stuck. Haven't pulled the battery yet as I was hoping someone would chime in here but guess I will have to soon. THere must be a way to get to the bootloader screen as why else would you do a nandroid backup? I also did a full backup on Titanium Backup bt again how do I get there?
OK loaded root66 through odin...phone restored...now what do i need to do to get cm10 on here....
Went and looked at phone under settings and that build was different now and the 401 error was gone so I installed CM10 and it's loading now! Yeah for me
Odin would be your best bet, if you can do that you should be golden, as to recovery ,I believe it's hold volume down, home then power button hold till you feel the vibration then release that should take you to either recovery or download mode.to Odin you need download mode.hope this helps a little

My Phone sprint S3 is rooted with a stock4.1.2 rom. I was going to put my phone in recovery to do a backup because I wanted to flash ND8 then a new Kit Kat rom. The phone wouldn't boot to recovery. I read something about using Kies if this happens. I updated Kies and connected the phone to it. Now it boots to the "Samsung" on the screen and goes to small windows with "unfortunately the process.com.android.phone has stopped" when I hit OK it says ".process.acore has stopped". It goes in to some more windows sometimes. can I fix this or am I screwed. I just wnat to go back to my rooted 4.1.2 stock rom for now and then figure out where to go from there. If the only thing to do is flash the phone with ND8 with Oden so be it, I'm not sure how at this point to do that.

having driver problem
Oden3 ver3.09 to do what you said. I still can't get the usb driver to work with my computer and phone. It is a SPH-L710 on sprint.
Okay got the driver but getting FAIL
I got the driver to work after I got the phone in to download mode. However every time I try to flash the VRALEC bootchain I get a fail. I have the phone in download mode.
got first bootloader to run. But
I got the driver to work after I got the phone in to download mode. I think I got the first bootloader to run even though it failed every time I tried to flash it. I however can't get the second one to even show up in Odin!
So I have an S6 which was rooted, but I wanted to unroot and wipe everything, so I decided to flash the stock rom using Odin... (Keep in mind I've flashed this stock a few times using odin, and it's always went without a problem).
Unfortunately, when I tried to do it this time it gave the error "SW rev check fail device:3 Binary:1
I tried to just restart the phone after, but get an exclamation mark inside a triangle with the message "An error has occured while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software".
It'd be great if someone could help me out soon as i really need my phone, cheers!
EDIT: I can still access download mode, so hopefully that's a sign it's not completely screwed!
UPDATE: So I just though I would chance it and flash unikernel (Just out of randomness, don't know why), and it restarted my phone correctly... Unfortunately it isn't wiped or un-rooted, but happy to have it working at the moment!
I had the same issue yesterday...
get it fixed by using an other computer with the same odin version and the same rom.

I have been able to get it to download mode. I have tried flashing it with odin but it fails. I have no clue what the guy before me put on it. After it fails i get the security warning saying use smart start or something like that.
I have tried it and once I type in the info and click ok the program just closes.
All i am trying to do is get it back to stock.
Can anyone please help me?
Update i was able to get it flashed in odin but it still sticks on the recovery booting screen.
Any help is welcome

Update
Last night during the endless rebooting it came up with the recovery menu, then went past the first Samsung active logo to a fading Samsung logo and then the blue att logo.
Also the blue power light is now staying on.
And its still doing the boot loop

Another update
Sorry for all the questions but i am still having problems.
Now I get this
Fail to open recovery no such file or directory
I was able to get to the recovery screen and I did the factory reset 2 times and cleared the cache.
It booted to the att logo and restarted.
Now it just shows the start up screen and then restarts.

There is something weird with this phone. Yesterday I let the battery die to make sure it was a fresh boot and it came up with the red charge light for the first time and the correct charge symbol. Before it would charge but no lights and just a circle with lightning bolt.
Now its just doing the reboot loop again and won't go into recovery.
Has anyone else ever seen anything like that?
I am glad someone was able to help me. Apparently what i have been trying to flash is just a security update.
Can someone please send me a link for the latest full rom for s7 active?
I am able to flash this. G891AUCS6CSG2_ATT6CSG2
Is it a full rom?
I have tried every rom i can find. Either they won't flash because they are an older version, or the stick in the reboot loop.
The farthest i have gotten is the blue att ball
Still no luck and no help
Finally I see my problem.
FRP MODE is on.
I need a combination file for binary 6
Please.
Just wondering if this forum is in limbo . My s7 active was working perfectly fine [til 10/22/22] and then it froze and
then it would only go to download mode. So I flash latest Samfw.com_SM-G891A_ATT_G891AUCU6CTB1 ROM and
it goes to updating system, but displays ERASING - I have tried to install only recovery and the same
happens - It deletes everything I flash ? now it only flashed recovery, boot and modem and wont flash the larger BL,CS,CSC AP files ? Just trying to get the phone working again and to use it as a dash cam - LOL
Thanks for any input
