Sprint HTC E8 with international firmware? - HTC One E8

Hello. I have Sprint HTC E8 model with S-OFF and SuperCID. Can I flash international (european) RUU or I will brick my phone? Thanks.

You can't use other model's RUU. RUU check's device's MID. If you change MID then you can flash with RUU but your device will not be booted since bootloader you just flashed is not compatible with your device.
But you can flash international firmware with TWRP backup.
I updated my sprint e8 with Singapore firmware. Everything works great but I'm not sure CDMA works fine because I only use it for WCDMA.

Return to stock using different CID RUU

HTC One S Ville that rec'd OTA JB update
Unlocked bootloader, flashed recovery, rooted, installed custom ROM.
Wanted to go back to stock.
Re-locked bootloader
Tried RUU for Bell, got carrier ID error
Tried RUU 1.7 for Rogers (learned about CID and it is Rogers001 on my phone) - failed with unknown error (now realize because it is older hboot)
Managed to get back to a custom ROM. Want to know if it is possible to install Bell RUU (Bell is my carrier) - ie can I defeat/fool the CID in some way? since newer Rogers RUU looks like it won't be happening...
Thanks!
where did you get the rogers RUU from? Do you have a link?

have you tried downloand the TWRP version 3.0.0.2 https://twrp.me/devices/htconea9.html format the data and than do a RUU. the firmware will say modified if the bootloader is unlocked or if some sort of rooting or modding was involved. you can change it back to official with some simple adb commands. All the RUU and zips for any version of the A9 is in the general forum threads.

First of all, you need to be more specific about your issue in the future. But I believe your phone will not boot, correct?
If so, try flashing.the latest ruu for your carrier, or the unlocked one if its unlocked. To flash it, you can run the exe and connect your phone in download mode
Noted.my phone has crashed and i need the correct RUU file to flash my phone back to stock.I have gone through HTC websites and cannot find any RUU files with 1.62.161.2.I have S - ON thus cannot flash a downgrade.Does anyone have a copy or backup of the RUU specified above.Any help will be much appreciated.

Ah, I see. Thank you. You need to flash the ruu that is international (hiaeuhl) unlocked the version number does not matter as long as it is above 1.6.x just flash 1.57

I have s-off, now what? ROM suggestions? Upgrade firmware?

So I have s-off now but I'm not sure what to do about the firmware. It's running 1.27.502.5 but I don't know how to upgrade the firmare. The roms I see seem to require it. Is there a rom anyone recomends for my phone as is? Or upgrade?

Is your phone international or US?
If it IS us and not unlocked, see this thread to upgrade to firmware 1.57: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one...nvert-to-htc-usa-unlocked-1-12-t3271861/page8
Then, you can flash caynogenmod, or mokee ROM.
You can also use a tutorial I made to flash a new splash screen to match your custom boot animation:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-a9/general/s-off-custom-splash-screen-t3506737/page1
it is US but I have unlocked the bootloader to root. Or are you talking about sim unlocked? Sorry, I haven't rooted a phone since the m7 years ago.

Did you buy it from a carrier or from HTC.com as unlocked? If it can pre-sim unlocked, you can flash the most recent firmware (as ruu). Only then will you be able to run CyanogenMod or mokee (ROM)

Oh, I understand what you mean. You will Verizon m8 mid modified and the same as the international version of m8? Then you installed the official version of the international version of m8. But can not boot normally, has been stuck in the HTC LOGO that interface. You do so is certainly not because the Verizon m8 system partition table and the international version of the different you can try to use recovery to install third-party ROM, the use of international version of m8 official firmware can not boot after this is normal. Forgive me this bad English

It is very sorry, I did not appear the same situation with you. I use recovery to install 6.0 firmware, including boot kernel and baseband these, if you need this file, i can send it to you

This is horrible advice. It appears the OP has changed the MID and CID with intent to "fully convert" the phone to Euro version by RUU/firmware. This should not be done, as it won't work (RUU is not compatible with Verizon M8) and can even result in a radio brick!
This is not the same as flashing a ROM in TWRP, which can be done, provided the proper kernel is used (Verizon uses a different kernel from most other M8 versions).
