Ipega 9023 on my Nvidia tablet K1 device - Shield Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

@ android 6..1 latest
I am trying to play RTS games via gamestream on my laptop to my Nvidia tablet using the ipega controller.
Now it does work and im reasonably happy though i suppose it will get some getting used to.
I am using the Keyboard and Mouse mode. While controlling the game with the analog sticks and gamepadbuttons function as mouse buttons.
But i am wondering to try some other things.
Can I for example increase/decrease sensitivity of the analog sticks functioning as the mouse?
Or increase/decrease the acceleration of the pointer/analogstick..
Would be great if you can fiddle around with it.
Also one other thing I really want changed is the keyboard mode. Some default keys are mapped to the keyboard mode of the Ipega 9023.
Now ofcourse I want to use specific buttons for the game itself and switch between keyboard and mouse mode as I play my RTS.
But how would I do this? There is no documentation on this... which is annoying.
I also heard about Tincore. I installed it and it sees my controller, but not sure if this app can do what i want and how I would do this...
Also have the software from the ipega company called android gamepad center. I started it but im not sure what this software does.
EDIT:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-okXI-BM52Q
From around 1:40 - 2:00 you see him starting the android gamepad center. If I do it like this like him, the gamepad center screen doesn't change, At my screen it just keeps saying connect blue tooth controller.
It would be interesting aswell to create virtual buttons on the screen so i could controll the game via touch screen.
Hope someone can help me on this. Thanks

Bump. Anyone have the ipega9023?

Dosbox Turbo mouse trouble

I setup Daggerfall with mouse set to physical and have tried both relative and absolute and in game mouse look turned on, the problem is that i can only turn about 90 degree from left to right. When the android cursor hits the edge of the screen i can no longer turn. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be much appreciated.
you are not alone...

I have the same issue with my nexus7 and I think that most other devices will have it too... Obviously, this problem isn't specific just for daggerfall - since the android mouse pointer won't leave the screen, you can't turn in any 3D game (or scroll in strategy games... etc.).
To my knowledge, there is no way to disable android mouse pointer and I have read that google forbids apps to disable it too. I use a simple workaround which is to set the mouse pointer speed in android settings to minimum - than the mouse in dosbox moves a lot faster that the android mouse.
It won't solve the problem completely, but it makes the games playable - you still need to be careful not to hit the edge of the screen with android mouse pointer, but you can turn about 720 degrees in one direction before that happends (than you just move the cursor back to the center of the screen and continue playing...)
Unfortunately, I think that the only way to get rid of the android mouse pointer completely is to flash a custom rom which doesn't have mouse support built in at all (but of course than you couldn't use the mouse anymore - except for gaming in dosbox...)
it is ok

You are correct in that the Android OS does not expose any API's to disable the Android mouse pointer. This becomes a problem in some games, because the Android mouse pointer will not go past the screen edges, thus disabling scrolling when you are using an external mouse (ie. bluetooth mouse or touchpad on the TF101).
There are four possible work-arounds built into dosbox turbo:
1. Screen Scaling Reduction + Absolute Mouse Mode (w/Hardware mouse):
In the settings menu, try reducing the screen scaling to less than 100% (ie. 90 or 95%). This will leave a small black border around the screen. When dosbox Turbo detects that the Android Mouse pointer has entered this black border, it should then emulate the mouse at the 'edge' of the screen. This special work-around will only work in "absolute" mouse mode, as there is no easy way to emulate such behavior in relative mode.
2. Analog GamePad mouse Emulation (w/Hardware Gamepad)
In DosBox Turbo 2.1.7+ analog sticks on gamepads are automapped to mouse and joystick control. So if you plug a Logitech, XBOX, or other supported gamepad into your TF101, the right stick will control the mouse movement, while the left stick will control the joystick.
3. Virtual On-Screen Mouse Emulation (w/Virtual Joystick)
If you go to the setting Virtual Joystick -> Use Joystick as Mouse, then when you enable to virtual onscreen joystick, it will then control the on screen mouse.
4. Touchscreen Mouse (w/Touchscreen)
The final work-around is to go back to the default touchscreen mouse. Using the above screen scale reduction trick + absolute mode will allow for scrolling in games that work with absolute mouse mode. Relative mouse mode is not affected by the scrolling issue.
I'm having an issue while using DOSBox:
I can't play shooters like BLOOD etc. using the right analog stick of the Samsung Gamepad for Android (GP-EI20) which is connected via Bluetooth to my Galaxy Note 3.
Everything else works but the right analog stick is just not being recognized (simply as if there wouldn't be one).
I'd like to use the right analog stick for mouse strafing but don't know how to solve / configure this.
Any suggestions?

[Q] Xbox Controller Problems

Hi all!
Recently bought a TF300 and dock in the Black Friday madness. Trying to hook up a wireless xbox 360 controller using my pc adapter plugged in to the dock. This was a special edition from Best Buy that came preloaded w/ 4.1.
The usage seems to be kind of random. On the home screen I can use the left joystick to navigate, but none of the other buttons seem to work. In Angry Birds Star Wars the back, A, and B buttons work and they are all used for going backwards/cancelling actions. In Shadowgun: Deadzone it recognizes the controller, but in the game it continuously turns me around and around. When I go to the mapping features, any time I try to map a button it automatically puts in Joystick Axis 6+
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Analog triggers

Anyone know how to map the analog triggers? So far I can't get any emulators to recognize the L R triggers.
Sent from my GT-N8013 using XDA Premium HD app
Supern64 recognized mine. The buttons on screen don't look like they are recognized but they are. It's the only one I've really tried so far.
I've noticed it too. I kept downloading different emus to be able to map the triggers. ppsspp(psp emu) has a GIT build that lets you map the gamepad
I noticed they don't work in some emulators too. Most importantly N64oid. It doesn't recognize the triggers or second joystick. Had to use mupen.I don't think they work in supergnes or myboy. It's annoying..
Edit - I forgot you need root to use tincore keymapper. I always root my stuff so I didn't even think of that.
The app Tincore Keymapper can do it. You need to have the app running while you play whatever emulator you want the keys mapped to. It can detect the right stick as well. It can also detect which emulator or app you are using so it can switch to that profile without you needing to change settings if you want multiple profiles.
A couple of pointers about that app if you use it.
The app doesn't seem to be able to detect the home key very well so it doesn't really work while the app is running. What I did was map the nvidia key (which tincore sees as the power button) to home while the tincore app is running. Not really a big deal since the nvidia key is really only useful if you are rebooting or planning on playing tegra games which wouldn't need the tincore app to be running.
The volume key needs to be mapped to volume_mute as otherwise it is going to get set as the "Select" key and your volumes won't work.
For touch based games, I have to use "Swap scale" and force the orientation into landscape under "device natural orientation" in the tincore app settings in order for the touches to be mapped to the proper screen location in touch based games. This wouldn't matter if you only ever use it for emulators though. If you don't select these your dpad or other buttons may not map to the proper location on the screen.
For the right analog stick to function without having a mouse pointer floating all over the screen you may need to disable the mouse pointer before you run the tincore keymapper. You can disable that mouse pointer in the android settings under controller.
Anyway, this may seem confusing but once you mess around with the app a little you will understand what I mean.
I had to download the app to my Galaxy S 3 and pull the apk out and sideload it to me Shield. The dev said he is working on getting the Shield to show up properly in the play store and he recommended side loading it for now.

[Q] Cubot X6 and IPega Controller

Hello,
I've bought the Cubot X6 just Thoursday from an old classmate who is testing chinese Smartphones
So far, the device is quite awesome. I have just one problem; I'm unable to get the Ipega v2 Controller work properly.
Actually it works fine, there is just one problem with the right analog stick. It works well for eg. Emulators, where you can configure the buttons yourself. But for games like GTA it doesen't. Everything works fine except for the right analogs stick to look up and down.
On my Galaxy S4, there is no problem at all. Anything works fine there.
I've tried to use Tincore Keymapper, to emulate a Moga or Xbox Controller, since these are Supportet by more games. I've got MC4 to work with the controller on the s4, although this game doesen't support my controller. On the x6 still everything works fine - except for right analog up and down.
I tried gamepadtest to see what reactions the buttons cause
If I press any button, the right button on the App will light up. Left anlaog stick or right analog stick left and right will cause movement on the sticks of the app. But if i turn the right stick up and down, there is a blue bar on the left. if i don't move the stick it's half way filled. if I move it up, the bar will get smaller and disappears, if i move the stick down, the bar will be completely filled.
I wanted to post pictures of gamepadtest just so you can see what i mean, but since i don't have i post, this is not possible.
So the device is recognicing something wrong propably. Do you know how to fix it? Would be quite awesome
Thanks to all!
Edit: Tried two different Controller Via OTG Cable. One of them, a old PS2 and PC Controller doesn't really work, but same goes for the S4. A PS3 Style Controller i own works fine, but the Controller is quite damaged and not fun to play and it's just not as portable as a small Bluetooth controller :/
Can Someone help me? Ideas? Similar problems on other devices?

[Q] BT Controllers and Mapping

Hi,
not sure if im doing this on the correct forum though
Modern Combat 3, latest version, ive read this game doesn't support controllers, but for some reasons, it recognizes the left analog left/right and dpad left/right as "Previous and Next Weapon" when my BT ipega controller is connected, and if I use touchscreen mappers like gamekeyboard, it overrides and goes together, when strafe/move left/right you also change weapons. why? is there something I can do to stop that?
thank you
MC4 works flawless though...
