MMS Size 930F - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Using my 930F on ATT and so far all the stock images I've been trying have an MMS limit of 300k, crazy small since on ATT you can send almost a full 1mb. Does anyone have a image they are using that has a larger limit or is this just a fluke since I'm on ATT?

[Q] One X Slow Speed

i got my unlocked htc one x today for ATT network. I find network speed of 0.1mbps after ATT issued new micro sim card. According to ATT this device is too new for them to trouble shoot settings. tried changing new sim and new data plan but no help. Does anyone know how to fix this issue.
i use to get up to 8 mbps on my note and Nexus.

Hey, post this in the One X forum. There might be someone over there that can help you a lot quicker than having this post here. Besides, you posted this in the forum for the LTE version. The forum it needs to be in is the one for the GSM version.

Well, I linked this thread over in that forum and it got locked with no explanation. Maybe someone over here can actually help you. The only thing I can tell you is, have you checked that the APNs are correct?

Sounds like you need to alter your APN to AT&T's settings. Keep in mind that you will not get 4G LTE with the international One X. That will only be available on the One X(L) from AT&T.
I have the One X on ATT and I am getting 8mbs down and 2.5 up:
I did tweak the APN by making a new one; if you look there is only about two setting a little different, hope this helps.
AT&T Expanded

edit: I found the same speeds with both APNs, I did find it all depends on which test you are using, i.e. the app speed test does not work on my One X with the default APN it does on the one I wrote above, I went to man test websites using the browser in desktop mode with flash on and found one or two that said I was getting .04 mbs but most of them read the same at 7.5 to 8 mbs down. the big question is how does it behave in the real word, one word - fast!
Asian version to 4 core . excellent
APN Settings
Changed APN settings and found much better results in download speeds. Not as good as i had on my Note 4G LTE.

there is no way the One X can compare on ATT to a Note LTE, when you are in an LTE area the Note will fly
Even with quad core processor? Is there any more fine tuning can be done to settings?
Thanks for the help BTW.

once custom ROMs show up you, you will need to root you one x and install one of them, the devs will make tweaks to help everything become faster and smoother

Quad core does nothing for what you are talking about. The modem on the Galaxy Note LTE will be much faster for your data speeds, but the phone will have much more lag compared to the One X.

It's the One X with Tegra 3. The One XL is the LTE variant.

Were I live AT&T LTE seems slow, but still a bit faster than H+.
Avg down load on H+ 5-6mbs
Avg up load on H+ .7-.99 mbs
Avg down load on LTE 7-8mbs
Avg upload on LTE 7-10mbs

Sounds like you're in a cell that's already been heavily loaded. Try either around 2 PM or 1-2 AM, you should get double to triple the speed.
You could be right

It was about 3pm in the AT&T store and I was the only one there. I went again to a AT&T, but this one was in the mall and it was 4PM. Got about the same speeds.
My S2 on H+ beet, the 3rd ipad on LTE, the 900 and the note in loading web pages. Video was about a tie or a win for the note. ( ipad and 900 with out flash. I could not get 1080P video to play well on the note, but it likely needed a reboot or update.)
The first time my Razr was having LTE "issues" and speed tested 400-600kbs DL and 10UP. The 2nd time it could not even pick up 4G. ( One of the AT&T reps was looking at this and he said wow that must suck.)
I still have his card and yes geting 400-600kbs sucks on LTE. I got it fixed, but it took forever.
The only way I could try at 1am is if I were to buy one and then take it back and pay a $35 restocking fee+billed for a day+more. ( I am not doing that, I will likely just wait for the S3, becuase I like my S2 a lot. First smart phone with unlimited non smart phone data and even with more then 5GB of use no text. )

[Q] Increasing Max MMS Size? Or receiving iPhone MMS

So basically, my girlfriend sent me an MMS from her crappy blackberry (maybe a 3mp camera) and it came though fine and fast. But my mom sending me an MMS from her iPhone 4s never seems to work. On stock onclick, or now on MHX 5.0. Sock MMS app or the new AOSP one. I think maybe it has to do with size, but also maybe just because it is from an iPhone? I recieved one mms from her that worked, when I was on the phone with her and I checked it while on the phone. I am outside of an LTE area if that matters.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yeah I have same problem with getting mms from my wife's 4s. I get them fine from my sisters 4 though.

[Q]Can't recieve iPhone MMS.

So basically, my girlfriend sent me an MMS from her crappy blackberry (maybe a 3mp camera) and it came though fine and fast, my friend with some budget android device can also send me MMS. But any MMS from iPhone 4/4s don't work. Running MHX 5.0 and the UCLC5. Sock MMS app or the new AOSP one. I think maybe it has to do with size, but also maybe just because it is from an iPhone? I recieved one mms from my moms 4s that worked, when I was on the phone with her and I checked it while on the phone. I am outside of an LTE area if that matters.

Exactly. I dont personally have a iPhone anymore, but make sure that whoever is sending you a message is not using iMessage. iMessage is proprietary "iPhone to iPhone" messaging service, much like BBM. Plus, make sure your APN information is set up properly. I dont think size of the picture would be an issue unless your provider blocks MMS files bigger then a specific size. From what I remember a iPhone automatically resizes, just like our Google phones do.
A friend of mine sent me a couple pictures from his iPhone to my Skyrocket and they came through fine. And I am not in LTE at all either (damn slow ass Canadian networks). You will receive pictures even on Edge service. It will just take longer for your phone to download the file is all.
One last thought on the topic. Did you used to have a iPhone, aka iPhone plan, and then upgrade to a Skyrocket? I did this, and there are a couple features with my carrier that are phone specific. For instance, visual voicemail. Which worked on my iPhone but wouldn't when I made the switch to Android. It could be, a long shot as it may be, that your provider has the settings for an iPhone. And when your gf tried to send you a message her phone thinks your on a iPhone.
Hope any of this helps. Bored on a Saturday and nothing else to do lol.

Mms help. T-Mobile and Verizon

Need some input please. I recently joined t-mobile with the nexus 5. My wife has Verizon. I have been having issues sending and receiving pictures Sent mms between the devices. After speaking with customer service at t-mobile I was told that they have a mms size limit of 2gb and that is why the pics are not sending or being received. Apparently Verizon also has an mms size restriction similar to this. Why did I not have issues in the past when on Verizon? Doesn't the carrier reduce the file size when sending? So am I supposed to resize every pic before sending when I haven't done so the past 5 years? Is this. Nexus issue? Thanks

[Q] APN keeps switching

I've been having a problem across a couple ROMs where my APN settings keep switching from T-Mobile LTE to MetroPCS LTE. Is there any way to lock in T-Mobile LTE? I tried APN Manager but it FC when I try to open it, guessing not working with 4.4.x. Anyone have any ideas?
Delete the other useless APNs? To get them back, reset to default will automatically get the APN list from the sim.

I just found out you can delete them. Why would it switch though when I have a T-Mobile sim? I was surprised that data worked on MetroPCS, but would that somehow affect my bill running a different APN?
The APN that's named MetroPCS uses the same settings as 4g CDMA I think. If you have the $60 plan I don't think that's something to worry about. But if you have the limited data plans there's no way around salvaging whatever 4g speeds you have left. Even if you set your mobile settings as 3g only, I'm pretty sure it also says in writing that the FIRST 500mb or 2.5 GB of data that adds up to 500mb or 2.5gb throttles you...

Fortunately I'm on the unlimited everything plan. Ok, so good, it shouldn't affect anything then. Thanks man.
