[Not Urgent but please help] H6-L04 - b810 - Lockscreen wont disable - Honor 6, 6 Plus Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, I would like to disable my lockscreen but the Slide to Unlock screen always appears when i turn on the screen. I found a old thread saying to delete HwLockscreen apk but there is no such file.
is there any way I can disable my lockscreen?
To clarify, im rooted and unlocked and have the European model with the Indian b810 update to get to Marshmallow.
thank you

pudup said:
You can't. Not on marshmallow. The devs at Huawei are not smart people.
You could probably get it done with an xposed module that disables the lock screen.

Thank you for the info
So going back to lollipop seems to have more advantages than disadvantages now xD

[Completed] [Q] Stock Lollipop Lockscreen Animation?

Does anyone know how to get the stock unlock animation, like on the Nexus 6? I just installed Lollipop on my G3 and was expecting to see more than just the stupid four that have been available since KitKat. I'd like to do this without rooting too? Any APKs or anything??
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. A quick search allowed me to find this thread:
[BOOTANIMATION] proper Android 5.0 Lollipop boot animation
You need root though, changing any system file requires root access, there's no way around that.
Good luck!

I didn't mean the BootAnimation, I mean the literal unlock animation.

When you unlock the phone, theres a few options as to what the animation is from getting to your lock screen to your home screen. They're all stupid looking and I want the unlock animation like on the Nexus 6. The lock screen itself is fine, its the animation going from the lock screen to the home screen that is bugging me.

Ok I'm following you now. XDA Assist isn't actually a general helpdesk area, our purpose is to point people who don't know where to post in the right direction. Which variant of the G3 do you have?

[After Root] USA S7 fingerprint fix

For those of you having trouble with your fingerprint after rooting. Here's a fix.
Just flash, mount system with flashfire and all should be well.
Download
*Note: For the G93xU/A/T/V/P ONLY!!!
Thanks to @jrkruse as I got the files to fix the fingerprint from his root.bat, and grabbed the su img and apk from him.
...
Please forgive me if this is a dumb question....
If I previously rooted with SU 2.79, can I just re-run the above root.bat file with SU 2.82?
try uninstalling super su and try, it it stays on 2.79 you have to odin back to stock then root again
Just registered to say thanks, because this fixed it for me! I was worried I had disabled something important unintentionally because I noticed the fingerprint not working after I started disabling stuff haha. Thanks!

Download that along with FlashFire from the playstore. Open FlashFire and select the plus button and add a zip. Select the file you downloaded. Then select the middle box (mount system) and then the checkmark. Then scroll down and click flash.

Wouldn't your method just remove it as a widget? Meaning it's still counting steps but just the widget is removed.

I have it on mate 20 emui 9.1
if it's not there just go to settings and on top in search type step it should lead you where it's been moved ...
Not sure if it's the same with the mate 30 or not. But on the mate 20x still counts steps even with the Huawei health app removed.
GSAM shows step counter under usage, under Android system sensor information.
Also Aida64 shows it being used at a hardware level under the menu of sensors. So in essence my device records steps whether you like it or not. Check your device using the two apps I mentioned above.

It seems to be a Huawei feature or issue as I'm on emui 9.1
I have a feeling that without root there won't be a way of stopping the in-built step counter sensor from recording steps even with H Health removed. Like I mentioned, I don't even have a step counter on my lock screen, yet GSAM and Aida64 show the step counter being used all the time.
Keep us updated it you come across anything .

The only way to stop showing steps in the lock screen in by changing the theme, all the OOB themes have steps count.
After you download a new theme, you can go to Themes->Me->Customize->Lock screen style to apply only the lock screen style
